you can age rum in a week, using dark toasted oak chips (non whiskey) in a mason jar, simply heat cycle the jar, in hot water or in front of a heat vent, and cooling. a week to two weeks and you will have amazing rum. ALWAYS start with overproof (65-75abv) or you'll be making "2x4 tea"... Also... make your own rum. it will be superior to commercial / industrial grade rum. cheers.
