One of my fave shows!!
@@billybobhaystraw4067 Right!!!
I love love love Stacy London....wish she'd do a TV show..or even a UA-cam show....pleeeeeze Stacy!!!!🎉
We DO miss you, Stacy! UA-cam, show, however you can get your knowledge to us. And please include plenty of older/menopausal women. Those of us who knew you and Clinton from WNTW have gotten *ahem* older, and we aren’t going quietly.
OMG! She looks amazing! I really wish Stacy would do a show on her own about dressing in the most flattering way. She was always my favorite on “What Not to Wear.”
Accept who you are indeed, is the key!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love Stacy!
Please please please keep having Stacy London come back. I so wish she would have her own show. I loved “what not to wear”
Thank you. I'm going through menopause, and she really spoke to me when she said to embrace where you are and celebrate where I am now instead of grieving for what was. I really needed to hear it.
I agree!! That hit me & makes so much sense!!
I am 63 and past menopause, yes I had the menopause middle along with a lot of extra weight in general (menopause weight or not) I joined Weight Watchers, best thing I could do. I safely lost a lot of weight, feel wonderful, and I am now a size 2! I can wear whatever I want (within reason lol). I work a full time 9-5 office job and also work most weekends at another job. I have lots of energy. Learning from Weight Watchers portion control etc helped me so much! I was never ever depressed but I really am so happy! If anyone feels they are struggling to lose a few pounds I’d highly recommend WW, it’s affordable and will make you so much more healthy! Also have to mention, get outside and walk, walk, walk! Helps to brighten your mood and burn calories!
Stacy is a queen! I love how she celebrates women and being the best version of yourself. She NEEDS a show again!!
Love and miss Stacey London!!❤
More Stacy London in the world please! We need this!
How I’ve missed you, Stacey!!! We have so muy we can learn about fashion from you!! Please come back to us
Stacy London is so wonderful!!
Gotta agree about the straight leg pant….I weigh more than most of my menopausal counterparts but they love their skinny jeans and that long sweater that’s not quite oversized enough…they say, “well you don’t have to worry about being fat”….I actually am two sizes larger. I just camouflage it with lines.
Miss you Stacy!! Need more!
OMG, I clicked on this because I’m wearing the red, white, and blue top in the thumbnail right now! Glad this came up. I needed a reminder of taking care of myself.
I slowly gained lots of weight during menopause. Then I was diagnosed with a non-functioning thyroid-more weight gain. Then I had cancer and had a total hysterectomy- more weight gain. I am blessed to be alive but am twice the size I used to be which is very discouraging. Stacy did a great job with this lady!
It's so good to see Stacey.
I miss her show so much.
I wonder what Stacey London does for herself though. She’s 53! Inquiring minds would love to know!
She is 54 and looks like she has the same body as when she was 24, right? lol. And her outfit was a lot nicer than the getup she chose for the other woman, who was actually very attractive as well and could have looked good in a more current-looking outfit. London seriously dressed her up like a shoulder-padded corporate exec from 1985. Animal print? Come on.
I can relate to her story!!
Same!!
I love Stacy London too. I always watched WHAT NOT TO WEAR.
She looks amazing! Stacey is wonderful. My question is, how do you take these ideas into everyday wear? I would only wear jacket at work or special occasions.
Daily... High-waisted blue jeans and a t-shirt tucked?
Not necessarily a 'tuck' in but using a belt or a shorter top to emphasize your waist. Creating a waist is where most people fail at dressing themselves. They think the bigger and baggier the better.
Wow, amazing makeover! 🎉
This is my next subject on the @fashioncrimespodcast! Stay tuned!
Stacy is the only person on this planet that can wear white shoes with black tights. She ALWAYS looks fabulous. Ooooopppps she did it again
Ewww I disagree. I think the white shoes and black hosiery is a big miss no matter who you are.
@@dgathome4345 Absolutely! Horrible look.
Oh no. Her look in this video was awful. All the darkness, what, has she gone goth? Not a good look for her.
I have accepted it and it's fine
I remember WNTW and use their mantra: dress the body you're in.
Stacy we love you and miss you!
Ya if you have that many issues in menopause please go see a Dr trained in women's hormones who can help. So many women just suffer because that is what they are told they must do but there is help out there for all those issues in menopause!
Stacey is the best.
I’d love to see a video for how men can dress to cover up their “mid-aged” weight gain.
It is often said we need to start with a good bra. But what exactly IS a “good” bra? No one, including Stacy, actually tells us that. What brand, style, etc. should we be looking for? (Yes, we also know fit is important.)
It's different for everyone. She did say that it has to lift them up. The same brand and style isn't going to work on every breast size and shape.
Most larger retailers have bra experts. They can measure you and make great suggestions. Wider padded straps are a godsend! Vanity fair is an affordable brand with many good quality styles. Best wishes and feel great about yourself! ❤
The French tuck can help hide the muffin top. Most good retailers have bra experts who can measure you for a proper fit. STOP being fixated on the size! Going from a 36B (the size you might have been wearing for the last 20 years) to a correct 40C means absolutely nothing in the larger scheme of things! Try on lots of styles, find padded straps (Vanity Fair has great bras at affordable prices) just take your time! A good bra have support even if a strap slips off a shoulder. AND stop any fixation on clothing sizing. No two manufacturers are the same. Cut out the labels if you have too! A good comfortable fit, classic style, quality fabric is the key. Find a brand that works and stick with it. Makes life easier. You are like fine wine…better with time ❤
I always get fitted by Nordstrom lingerie salespeople.
I think a start is to search for professionals whose fittings you can trust. That can be enough of a trick, right there.
Can SO relate!
Love Stacy! What should we do in the summer, with so much more skin showing plus heat? Ugh!
Maybe a well fitting pair of shorts
Actually use linnen and lose clothes
She looks so nice.😊
For those interested in body changes around menopause - There’s a new book from Megan Ramos and Jason Fung coming out June 2023 for Women about how to Balance the hormones etc. in different stages of life.
I went through menopause @ 44 . I purchase too large clothing in the hope it will be longer to cover my tummy yet I feel sloppy and look sloppy. I have cut back on carbs and increased water intake which has allowed me to lose some belly fat but it is still there I am now taking steroid inhalers so this summer I will really need to be stricter with my food intake
What are you doing with steroid inhalers ? They are going to give you cushings !
What bra brand and model please? Excellent video with Stacey, Rachel! Love your show!❤
I wear my maternity jean shorts for the summer they are cute, my belly has room and when you sit your belly is not scrunched, just have your shirt cover the elastic stretch band and you look good and feel good again
wow!!!
Rachel needs a makeover!!!
I’ve found diuretics help with the bloating. You do retain way too much water, which makes you appear larger
While she looks fantastic, if youre going through menopause and sweat ALL the time the last thing you want is more layers. I find this outfit stylish but uncomfortable bc it would be hot, especially if you live in a warm or humid area!
I was about the say something like that -- yes, for sure an outfit like that, with a black wider leg pant, patterned top, and bright colored blazer will work miracles for making you look better. BUT in the summer, outdoors, etc. Or if you live where it's always hot, dressing to hide an extra 20 pounds is so much more difficult. (I know from experience.)
@Woman of a Certain Age Thank you for agreeing. I was kind of shocked noone else felt this way, too, so I appreciate the confirmation!
I completely agree! She looks great! But I would overheat. Also, what do we wear if we're not going to a workplace? I'm a stay at home mom on the verge of an empty nest. I need casual clothing. Unfortunately, tunic tops and leggings always fit my lifestyle. I'm scared of a top tucked into my waistband. 😢
I HATE the outfit. It looks like something for an old lady, or a "female exec" circa 1985. I am only four years younger than that woman, and wouldn't be caught dead in that getup, lol. I still wear jeans and T's, for crying out loud, and have no interest in dressing like a quirky gramma quite yet.
I live Stacy! I miss what not to wear so muvh.
I would love to know the brand of that pink Blazer
Where has Stacey been….please come back!!!!
I don’t understand how tucking in the shirt, will make my menopause belly “go away”. I look pregnant.
Going from an hourglass figure to same size bust and waist, and now huge thighs, I have no idea how to dress myself anymore. Being short compounds all of it.
Why is it so hard to accept who we are?? I look in the mirror in the morning & say to myself, "You are ugly." All I see is my floppy stomach. Then I'm angry, guilty & ashamed of myself instead of being grateful for another day of life. Ugh.
Love Stacy!
Seriously! Wear clothes that fit.
Sorry ladies but menopause makes it more challenging but not impossible to be fit. Be brutally honest with yourself and look closely at your habits to find the reason for weight gain etc. also set realistic goals for yourself and work on new habits. Been there done that it’s possible. Good luck! PS I wouldn’t be caught dead in a tunic style top. Challenge yourself. You’ll feel empowered!
Wait! Are you a medical doctor??
do you have insulin resistance that causes diabetes but a whole host of problems. get a test. eat super low carb foods and move. as much as movement as possible. walking is best
best advice I have seen on this thread. You can't complain about weight gain if you aren't doing any type of exercise.
I am afraid to reach menopause. She looks nice
Don't be afraid sis. Just be prepared. I'm 54 just exiting the difficult parts of menapause. I share with woman to do their own research. Tips: buy a fan, exercise, eat healthy and pray. You may think you are going crazy. You are NOT it's all hormonal. God bless you ABUNDANTLY!
I am 68 and found menopause to be a new lease on life and blessed freedom from periods, pain, mood swings, and worries about contraception. Keep active and watch your diet- you'll be fine. I never needed nor wanted HRT, but if you have bothersome symptoms it's definitely an option to talk over with your doctor.
Your first two commenters here are totally spot on. It's going to be okay, sis!!
Well, I guess you have two choices: Die very young or reach menopause. Which sounds better to you?
I miss what not to wear so much 😢
I’m sick of seeing these shows where they dress the person up for a night out, most women know how to look great if they dress up for a night out. When are they going to show us how to dress to do the shopping ? Casual everyday fashion?
Yes. Ugh. I always had the butt, never had the gut. 🙄😒 Makes everything look dumpy...
Stacy London doesn't look like she's gained a menopausal ounce, though. Also, I am 50 and would not want to be dressed up like an '80s business woman on a makeover show. With leopard print??? I am not ready to dress like an old woman -- why not something a bit hotter and hipper for this made-over woman who is actually quite cute and could look great in a different kind of getup?
"Menopause" is such a strange word to me, considerably ambiguous, as one does not reach "menopause" until they've gone a full year without menstruating. Perimenopause is the time leading up to reaching menopause. It can take years. And the moment one reaches "menopause", they are considered to be "post-menopausal". We don't need as many energy/calories as we age as we did when we were younger, and if you really pay attention to your body during these menopausal years you might actually notice a natural decrease in appetite. Some of us don't notice because we like food and eat when we aren't hungry. I have found that recognizing this in my body and regular exercise has made my body smaller (NOT shorter) as I have aged. I am 55 and post-menopausal, and weigh less now than I did in high school. I think it's all in how we choose to perceive this time in our life. Is it going to be great, or is is going to suck? You decide.
Every body, everyone's hormones, life situation, etc. are different. Brava for you! And also, have empathy and compassion for those for whom eating less and regularly exercising doesn't do crap to lose weight. I've been doing what I used to do, and even more (more exercise, a lot fewer calories than what USED to work) and it's not working. Full stop. Great it's working for you. It doesn't work for all.
Rachel... plz stop talking and interrupting your guests.
