    One thing I personally love about Kyrie is his comfort playing into a shot with his guarding man still attached to his body/in front of him/level with him. I’ll have to take a look at other players, maybe this is more common among guards than I think, but it just feels like he is blowing by less, and less focused on it, but also doesn’t NEED to blow by to be able to get his buckets at an efficient rate!? Man I respect that so much. Going to try to add that to my game. I’m just getting back into hooping after I took some time off post varsity career. I was able to get fully past my defender about 80 percent of the time simply because I didn’t play in a great league and I was faster than everyone and had a couple moves I obsessively honed, but I’m noticing now that if my man didn’t get twisted and burnt on my move and sort of stayed level with me, my aggression as an attacker would totally divert and I would just look to find someone else. It’s just so beautiful how Kyrie doesn’t need that full blow by to keep his confidence during attack.
    I’m SURE kyrie is not alone in this. In fact, I’m sure that most people who would read this message probably would be like “uh duh, you can’t just blow by everyone so you have to learn to play with close coverage” I respect that tho. I just was never forced to, but now I see it

      Good observation. He has really quick pickups into his shots and he is comfortable with contact which lets him play well against defenders on his side or in front of him. This is the case for most high level players so it’s a good thing to focus on.

      this is true, but make sure you practice tough shot making otherwise you wont be efficient and be letting your team down by not passing

      I totally get what you’re saying as I’ve noticed the same. These days he relies a lot more on strength compared to his speed from his younger days; I think it’s a combination of his athleticism waning and him trusting his pull-up game more along with the strength he’s developed over the years.

  • @TheMonjok24
    @TheMonjok24 Рік тому +95

    Has anyone noticed how strong & grounded he is ? Its airtight balance I tell you. He can't be pushed of his path. But then he can come to a full stop, reshuffle & just pick it back up again. It's weird af. He's deceleration is actually better than he's acceleration. He looks like a damn ninja out there. I'm no draft scout but I watched him in college & I couldn't take my eyes off him.

    • @BBallFilmZone
      @BBallFilmZone  Рік тому +18

      His core is extremely strong and he does every movement as efficiently as possible. He is very good at starting and stopping as well. You are 100% correct.

    • @BBallFilmZone
      @BBallFilmZone  Рік тому +12

      I agree. If anything he is making the decision right before the in and out. The move is too fast to make a decision between the in and out and the crossover honestly.

    • @Dutch3z
      @Dutch3z Рік тому +2

      Pre-determined means it was planned way ahead of scheduled. I don't get that watching the specific move you pointed out, or any others. I'm sure his decision making happens right before he actually makes the move, then his counters are instinctual.

    He is so skilled at his counters that he sets defenders up. He knows what he wants the defender to do, sets him up to do it and then counters it. He also seems to know the defensive tendencies of every positional player that guards him 1-5 and how to exploit them.
    He must be mamba like in the way he studies and practices the game. He is MJ like in the ways he makes defenders look stupid. He also has a beautiful and graceful looking game like MJ's was. Savant games like his has always been misunderstood and looked at as selfish to the uneducated fan. Pistol Pete, MJ, Kobe and Kyrie all delt with it.
