I made a similar thing in trading view, it's just the Bollinger band width divided by the Keltner channel width, public indicator - Bollinger Band/Keltner Channel Width Ratio. I found it useful to shade areas of volatility extremes depending on the ordering of short term EMAs to indicate the short term trend characteristics of the area of interest. Gives some idea if a resolution will be counter trend or not, as with everything not always accurate but helps to some extent.
Keltner fan here too. I use it on 1200tick to 30min candles. Check this out I modify it from .2 to .12 and 2atr to a 1. Use normal on along side this and it’s really catch’s the wicks on outer one and if doesn’t close outside keltner enter at that hi or low and the next candle will usually grab order and run the other way not taking more than a few ticks of heat. Nq stop loss will be less than 2pts a lot of times even as low as few ticks stop loss on entry assuming it won’t go more than a tick above or below last candle. Btw if closes outside outer keltner it’ll usually get stuck between the two other lines and don’t go against it because as it slopes it’s staring to trend. Never go against slope angle when countering a candle close.

@@garrettdrinon Thank you for responding. I have learned a lot from your wonderful educational videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I look forward to more.
I use TTM Squeeze in combination with multiple EMAs. 8, 21, 34, 55, 89. When those EMAs are stacks then you know it’s go time. That was back in 2020 when stocks were constantly having explosive moves. Haven’t really used it lately but if we start another bull run then I might.
Good coverage Garret and introduction. There’s more info to be discover in combo to make it successful and questions to explore. Using this for swing, intra day ? Which time frame works best ? Pair this with one or two more indicators and you may find yourself something
yes it’s one data point within a larger setup. The question for each trader is which setup. The math works on every timeframe. My preference is to use it on higher timeframes as a contextual tool for my trades. Often it simply informs me of the timeframe with the most energy and therefore which expiration options to buy. very right that every stock has its own volatility, this is why we use ATR in the formula, to normalize the standard deviation to the stock’s volatility - when ATR is in the denominator that is what happens here, so that the threshold, 6 in this case, is the same number of average true ranges for any given stock
