Really great to see this video and know that Chris is still alive and well, he must be nearly as old as I am! For all the information on the original stocking of those king carp waters Chris Ball's book entitled The King Carp Waters contais all the details. Tight lines Chris.
When Chris B,was alive I tried to find out through Skeff if the original stocking of Shillamill in the early 70s ,poss mid..were Donald Leney fish.. All the fish I caught there until it was ottered looked very similar to some of those leney distributed caught ... I'd love to find out but I guess I'll never know..
It would be nice if some of the records could be put on line, but I guess folk don't want people to know where they all went. When I lived in Willington I was made aware of Leney Carp from Hilton being moved by the old Gravel works employees into their club gravel pits in Derbyshire area, I have pictures of fish which were supposedly Leney fish.
Speaking as a historian and obsessive angler, these films are absolutely priceless. Superb!
Fantastic stuff - with the best teller of fishing tales in the land 🎣 Thank you 🙏
