Baltimore Oriole announces his early arrival!

Typically, we see the Baltimore Orioles arriving the first week of May. This male arrived early and we were ready with the foods they like.

So wonderful! I had a "lingerer" as the man in the bird seed shop called him; one that for whatever reason did not migrate. He hung around for all of February and I hope he comes back soon! I'm on eastern Long Island.

My husband and I watch your live feed all the time. That is great that you get these birds on video. How do you keep bears away? We have lost 4 feeders to bears.

We're glad that you and your husband are enjoying the channel! We have never seen a bear on our property. There has been a few times that a bear finds his/her way to the Gettysburg National Park and they capture/release. Last year there was a bear downtown Gettysburg.
