  • The JVB Hotel was located in Baghdad in a former hunting lodge, part of a massive complex built by Saddam Hussein. The manmade lakes that wrap throughout this presidential retreat were filled from Baghdad's water supply. That required all water diverted to the lakes, leaving the 8 million residents of Baghdad without water for almost two weeks.
This building was chosen to lodge visiting dignitaries, from Congressmen to movie stars, musicians and comedians. The food was actually prepared at the nearby DFAC (KBR run dining facility)and driven over.
The JVB sat across the lake from the Al Faw Palace and was turned over to the Iraqi's with the rest of the complex. Its fate remains unknown.

I spent a bit of time at the JVB here, did some work, and I agree. It was a huge waste of time.

This needs to be taken off youtube. This is garbage. It's nothing but a way to help an insignificant war effort. To close with a Marine Corp General. I almost becacame physically ill. I was a medic at the JVB in 2006 and 2007. You basicacally made a joke of all the work I did for 15 months. Shame on you. I worked with a company of men that would give their lives to protect these people the did not belong there in the first place. I WILL be looking at legal action.
