I've got this - 2.0 /140 automatic. Great car for 4 people. Fits all I need + short so easy to park. I've also got some nasty plastic vibration that I can't get rid off that is driving me crazy + a small slip from 2->3rd ... other than that - perfect.
Nice review. I bought an Xtrail T30 Ti in 2004 and we still have it now. Has 260k mileage on it and still going very strong. Great car to drive and very practical.
james, i just wanted to say, that your an absolute legend and i actually watched this entire video start to finish even though my passion is not cars. loving the sarcasm as always lad. stay awesome.
I love my Xtrail, really wish I could buy a brand new one that is not the soccer mum car that they turned it into. It is not for extreme 4x4 driving but it is great to take off road and can handle some pretty rough tracks. It's really an area of the market that is no longer covered by a smaller 4x4.
Good review. Worth noting the rear seat squabs can be removed and the front passenger seat back folded flat so you can fit 2.4 metre long objects e.g fence posts etc. I've had my T30 dci Sport for nearly two years, absolutely love it. Pulls like a train, been utterly reliable, and returns pump to pump real world 36mpg and 34mpg with AC on. Apart from the very low rear exhaust back box, it's more than capable of going off road - not rock crawling but it will certainly get you up gloopy muddy tracks...and further with the right tyres. I can see why they're so popular in Russia.
I'm considering purchasing one to replace my current pickup truck. Me and my wife are planning on driving a ring around europe soon. with the seats folded down is there enough length to sleep back there or is it too short? you seem knowledgeable with the vehicle
I've just checked to see if it's possible to stretch out in the back of a T30 X-Trail with the seats folded down and it is possible so long as the front seats are moved fully forward and the rear seat squabs (the bit you sit on) are removed first to enable the front seats to recline fully and the rear seat back to also fold flat. Rear seat squabs have a quick-release catch to remove them. You don't get a totally flat interior because the front seats can only go so far forward however with an air mattress in there and using the rear seat cushions as headrests or bringing along a pillow then yes - I'm six foot tall and my feet weren't touching the tailgate. If the front seats are left in normal driving position then the cargo area isn't as long so you'll be sleeping with your legs curled up however you could move the front seats forward, recline them and use them as 'pillows' once head rests are detached. I've got some video to upload to show how much room there is.
That would be truly awesome for you to upload the video and thank you for you help and for the detailed answer! I've been trying to find any decent info on this but I haven't been able to. Thanks!!
Good review, this was the best car I ever had, 06 aventura, I loved it, but after nearly 5 years I let it go. Now desperate looking to get another that is still ok for what is now an old car. The new ones I don’t like at all, this one with the noisy 2.2 dci is by far the best.
thanks for the video. im planning on buying an xtrail t30 between 2003 and 2009. with around 150000km they are kind of affordable where i live. would you recommend them now on 2022?
Had my Columbia for about 3months now,12 yrs old and in almost mint condition. Has a minor "jib" about 2000revs,but not bothered. Starts on the button, drives so well.Bit noisey, mainly tyre noise I think,as is quiet on smooth m.way surface.Tow my caravan with it,seems happy, and pulls well.(didnt know about the vents in the cubby holes, will check them later) Bit pricey on road tax,but insurance is ok.
Just lost my 2005 T30 manual with 350,000, Goan really miss her. was rear ended at 80kph and went into a fence. im ok but the car sacrafised her life for mine. And i will never forget my First car.
This is a very capable crossover! ! have been on it, it goes through mud, gravel, etc, no problems. I would dare to say it goes perfectly well wherever the like of the new Jeep wranglers, new Land Rovers, go too, and might even continue going where the wrangler stops. Do not let the crossover naming dissuade you cause this car is a proper 4x4 off roader. It is one of my favorite cars, its my favorite 4x4 crossover along with the Subaru Forester, and the good old Land rover Defender and freelander (my brother has one and I know or a fact it's very capable off road too, for its size)
Proud owner 335'000 ks 05 air con flow in centre console open door feel inside for vent switch pull forward let's cold air in also cup holders have up down lever cold /hot air great little addition. Put 245/70 on 16in rim's lift car and fills wheel arches love it. Aussie owner.
Most accurate review. They replaced the Nissan Terrano kept the toughness reliability and 4x4 just made it look like a family car. Only criticism is its not up high enough off the ground. My 07 has 230 000km and in the five years I have owned it has had transmission fluid pipe replaced. They are built like a brick outhouse. Just dont know what I will do when it needs replaced, may just get the current model.
He should review the original Fiat 500, as a kind I remember in Italy seeing families with 4 corpulent persons getting inside, I am not saying they were comfortable also because it was very hot and there was no air conditioning, but they would reach destination, sometimes.

Thanks for sharing consumption information.
I saw an x trail for sale so googled and up came your vid. It was the clincher for me to buy my lovely X-trail Colombia, cheers!

We have a diesel 07 aventura, 188,000 miles, about to go and buy another one. Brilliant car in all weather and great for towing our caravan 😁

Hi, let me just check and I'll get back to you.

Just uploaded a video to my channel.
Had a couple of these petrol and diesel. Manual and Auto. Great car that just keeps going. Great review James as well. Thanks.
Which of those would you say were the best?
Great review as I'm toying with the idea of getting one, good work you've got yourself another sub 😎
I think I'll buy it. Great review
Great review James. Well done. I'm off to buy an X Trail

I was wondering if it could tow a caravan, what size van did you tow Richard ?
Just bought this yaaaaaay
Excellent review, thanks for all the insight, I'm checking one out today!
The little barn door is a cooler, In some area. You can fit soft drink can and let it chill.
how does it work?

Xtrail perform well in overall.

Current models have cvt which are not reliable
Great video 📹, many thanks and well narrated 👍😊
does it have side airbags?
The cubby hole in the middle that has the sliding doors on is actually a mini fridge... ;)
How does it work?
Oh, really? My wife just bought one. Gotta check it out. 🤓👍
Great review. Really enjoyed it, greets from the Netherlands
Is there any common issues with Xtrail??
Good informative review, best one I've seen - thanks!
He should review the original Fiat 500, as a kind I remember in Italy seeing families with 4 corpulent persons getting inside, I am not saying they were comfortable also because it was very hot and there was no air conditioning, but they would reach destination, sometimes.
If my car start but when I ref it switches off what could be the problem

Thanks for the great review, very helpful. Looking at these or a Honda CR-V very soon
Luke Harley I’m the same mate have you brought either yet?
You should look into Subaru foresters also
Full size spare? Diff lock?
What year was that one?

The number plate looks rather interesting.

Thanks for the informative review.
Is the 2005 edition v4 or v6??
Great review
This guy must be way over 6 foot
The xtrail doesn't look that short in person
I bet he couldn't it on a Mini!
he’s 6 foot 1 and a half
🤣
What will be average of this vehicle please inform
Very nice. We have the QR25 petrol T30.. Can you make a comparision video with the new x trail please?
Dave@AA - Thanks Ahmad, we will certainly do that if we can get hold of one.
Nice XTrail 😍
Can you please tell me the length of the loading area when the rear seats are down.

Good review sir, I can't decide between one of these or a CR-V. 🤔
Get the t30, I did
Is it a real 4 WD or AWD.
its fwd
How much for A used one
Great work James
The exhaust they changed in later models. I assume a good exhaust shop could change the back box setup for not much $$$
what is the fuel consomption sir?
How tall are you?
Xtrail looks smaller
Exelente💪💪😎
lol i love this guy
Is this guy really tall or is this like a mini jeep? Lol
hi
me i have a nissan x trail 2003 and is very a car i have a 2,2 engine and 280 hp
Are you quite tall ? The car looked strangely short next to you in the beginning of the video
I'm 6ft1. It's not actually a very huge car in reality. Think of it as a tall version of an estate car.
great video
Thanks.........Cheers 👍🏴
whats the most reliable engine? and are they all 4wd?
All 4wd when slip is detected or special programs are selected, otherwise FWD for economy. The petrols seem to give less trouble.
It reminds me of Mitsubishi.
how does it compare to same year Audi A6?
17 INCHER'S plus didn't no it came in a stick shift and that's 1 big sunroof - moon roof
My dream
Dated interior, classic shape
@Scimmia is it comfortable to drive on hills and curves? Reliable?
Old interiors have so much more character. Just look at the lifeless bleak interiors of today. All mood lighting and no mood
3:12 There'd bloody have to be!
Haha
انا العربي الوحيد
Maybe not
This is at and gas and 2.0 engine nissan xtrail 2004
Handy for nipping down the chip shop..
Please get your facts right. It's not a "Ski thing" on the roof. That's the roof spoiler.
That was a joke...

Yes that was a joke, I also could tell...
ya i had baught a gt when i built my house in somalia, but the pirates wanted to steal it so they can put the turbo on a boat in siberia.
I have one and it's a piece of shit, 300000 km. It's falling apart, I paid a grand for it. I named her Boxxie, short for Shitbox
T30がデザイン的に一番まとまりがあって無骨さとアウトドア感とスポーティ感もあってカッコいい
32以降はラグジュアリー感出しすぎてダサくてかっこ悪い
This aint your average bloke, so his opinion on size and space aint relevant.
otherwise good review.
cheers
Ok

I hear Nissans have an engine problem.
He thinks he's Clarkson...
I think he is doing a great job. Obviously he is not reviewing a Koenigsegg or whatever other 850HP car.
Plenty of room for your pizzas and doughnuts, no doubt!
im, not taking notice of any guy who,s regular car is a dinky toy punto jeezzzzzzz
It's trash
