Nope, JT did not improve on their issues. I have a feeling that this probably par for the course if you decide to pony up your hard earned money for this action fig
At the price point that these are being sold in China, that would be a no brained must buy…at least for me. However, as all my reviews state, there are paint issues with all of the figs so beware in that you are not going to get a perfect figure.
I'm hoping future releases of the dreadnaughts get more weapon options I'd like to be able to buy a standard dread in all the chapters available ATM and be able to pick which arm options it comes with either as a varient or optional add on parts how the the lascanon isn't my favourite weapon for them
That is a very good-looking (and sounding) dreadnought. But when I look at all the tiny issues and the droplets on the left arm, that you could just wipe off, I really wonder under how much time pressure they are over there. I wish they would just slow down a bit and focus on quality, rather than constantly releasing new figures. But that's probably not viable from a business perspective. However, that makes a decent transition to your question: My latest figure was the Space Wolves Claw Pack Brother Torrvald (the one with the huge two-handed chainsword). I think it's among the first figures that do no longer have highlighted pistol holsters, pouches and undersuits by default. You can clearly tell they no longer spend as much time painting a single figure as they did in the beginning. The little highlighting / drybrushing that is done is a bit uneven at times. I mean, the figure still looks good and very close to what they advertise... but there is room for improvements. Beyond the looks: The joints are much looser than those of earlier figures. At first, I thought that it could be an individual thing but other customers report the same thing - among them one customer who had bought all four figures. So all in all, it seems that buying these figures is still a bit of a gamble.
Yeah, I am glad the dread did not have any squeaks. That being said, I am sure that there are quotas that the workers have to meet so I am going to guess that they are under time pressure. After all, they do not have the luxury to take their time to paint the figs to lets just say an average level. I don't think that their bosses are willing to let them spend 4-5 hours per figure to get the paining right. As for the buying the figures being a gamble, yes I totally agree. However, that's what I am here for so that you all can make a well informed decision on whether to buy the fig or not despite the numerous issues...at my own expense lol. But hey, that's my job as a content creator.
I'm still waiting for the Redemptor Dreadnoughts of the Imperial Fists and Black Templars that were teased in the one of the preview videos some months ago. And then I'm hoping they will release a Leviathan Pattern Siege Dreadnought one day.
Why decide? Just get them ALL!!! Just kidding. It's a tough choice as they are all really cooling looking (from a distance). Good luck on your choice and let me know which one you get!
All I want in life is for a company to make gunpla-esque model kits of this size or larger. Something like Maschinen Krieger but 40k. I'd bankrupt myself buying them probably.
Hey welcome on into the channel. I was not aware of Ma.K until I looked it up. They model series line looks very unique. About bankruptcy…yeah these 40k action figures are speeding me along to doing just that lol
Finally, Dread-a-Chonk is here! Even with those issues, it is glorious. Congrats! Im very happy that you're like it. Can't wait to get mine! And I'll leave a comment about quality when I get it. What do you think about torso and hips articulation? Joints is sturdy enough? By the way, cool rotating base.
Yup, I 100% ignored the issues because I love the action fig despite all its flaws. Torso and hip articulation is good. No squeaking at all and they have full rotation. The joints are sturdy for sure and are able to hold some decent poses. With regard to the rotating base, I was using it for my lego reviews and some where along the way when I decided to shift my focus to action figures, I stopped using it. Then I figured, I spent money on this thing, I might as well use it lol
@@SpruesNStuds Little update, got my dreadnought today. No ussies except blasted box, blister and the figure itself is totally fine. And yes, no squeaking. Torso joint is huge so farewell to my biggest fear for this one. Surprisingly poseable too. Really like it. I'd like to share photos, got some cool ones, If you want to see them!
@@sablebubble4630 that is great to hear that you got a clean dread without any squeaking issues. Congrats! Sure, I’d like to see pics of your Furioso for sure!
I have not done any touch up work on the dread yet. The only ones that I did was the Blood Angels Blade Guard veteran and the McFarlane Raven Guard Intercessor.
Thanks for the review. I have also preordered this dreadnought too. I wish that it was made with the ability to swap out one of the arms and replace it with a frag cannon like the model that you had on the carousel. I recently bought a black legions havoc marine with the large gun and it came with the shoulder pauldrons detached. I hope that my copy of this dreadnought is flawless. I'm also interested in the Helbrute, but it looks like a large brick to me.
I hope that your dread comes to you without issues. Other people in the community have said that they have been lucky and have not encountered any. It would be nice to have the option of swapping out the armaments on the dreads like an accessory pack that GW releases. Who knows, perhaps in due time they will. The helbrute is pretty cool IMO. Yes it looks very boxy but that’s how the miniature looks and JT is just copying the original model.
Brother, i did noticed the messed up left hand of it when you first opened the box and i cant help myself but to feel annoyed by it thru the video until u finally mentioned it lol, i usually just use cotton butt with alcohol to clean those off...btw, i do like the blood angels chapter however i dont really fond of joytoy colors schemes on them...it feels like they are all just walking through flames, its too dark at least on mine but still i already got the intercessors and will get furioso soon, maybe i will ended it up with the future BA primaris captain and iam done with BA and yeah brother it is better than the ultramarine one at least for my taste but i called mine the vulnerable dreadnought cos he was came to me with both of his legs detached inside the box, thus the name was born lol....
I suppose I am thankful that the fix is pretty easy which was to reattach the claw back onto the blood claw. However, it is still irritating that we as the end consumer have to deal with these issues. Weird I am able to over look these problems because overall, I really love this action fig. As for the color scheme, I actually do quite like it. There is quite the depth when you look at the figure as compared to other action figure companies.
