Man, we don't have any hifi stores like that. Ours all went out of business. Wish we had something like that near us. Excited that you will be soon adding a projector. Chris, it will take your movie watching to an ENTIRELY new level!
Oh yeah! The store was massive. it took up 40 acres! Everything is bigger in Texas. Im amped about a projector. My guys keep saying go with the epson, but I really wanted to do the native 4k of optoma. What you think?
Wow 40 acres! That's insane. :) I have only owned two projectors. Panasonic AE3000u and now the AE8000u. I needed a projector that had Lens Memory so I could easily switch between 16:9 and 2.35:1 content. At the time, Panasonic and JVC were the only two projectors with this feature. Without it, you have to manually adjust zoom and focus anytime you switch aspect ratio (which would be a royal pain, even with remote zoom and focus. The JVC are known for killer black levels but they were a lot more than the AE8000u so I opted for the Panny and could not be happier. I have not moved to 4k yet as native 4k projectors are still way up there. Probably in 4-5yrs I'll upgrade my projector but for now, the picture quality of the Panny on my 150" screen looks fantastic. Definitely do not have any complaints.
Which model Optoma are you considering?
the epson 5040 has the lens memory. thats one of the main reasons i want it over the optoma uhd60. optoma is native 4k. the epson does funny stuff to trick you into thinking its 4k... faux4
I wish I could give you some advice but I have not had any personal experience with Epson or Optoma myself. How large of a screen are you looking at? I just don't see myself being able to go with a projector that did not have lens memory since my screen is 2.35:1. If you have a 16:9 screen and don't mind having black bars, then it might not be a big deal as you would always keep it at 16:9 aspect ratio. For me, I wanted the super wide cinescope screen because I wanted to experience exactly what the movie producer intended plus everyone has a 16:9 TV. I wanted "Movie Time" to be an entirely different experience for me and my guests.
Awesome subs, love that piano gloss finish! Very impressive demo! Thanks for posting.
the gloss is amazing! i wonder how it will do in my house when i do the projector. hope it dont reflect too much.
You have to do a comparison on the on 4000 and the pb 16 for us
Sarfraz Ally yep! I’m getting the ultra later this summer. So I will be showing tons of videos.
If you're ever in San Antonio, check out Bjorn's Audio/Video, they are top notch.
I heard about them. I need to do a tour
I live in MA and we used to have Tweeter. Now all we have is Best Buy and a couple high end stores that are 4 hour drive(each way). The only time I can see equipment is on UA-cam!
Companies are starting to realize that. Thats why They like us showcasing their products
It is nice to be able to research EVERYTHING on the internet. I have been buying electronics for 35 years, and still love all of it. It is a good itme as the products are UNBELIEVABLY good and prices have become affordable
Even brands like Pyle and Technical pro have stepped up their receivers with hardware upgrades, Technical pro hasn't implimented HDMI yet but they seem to be more Sound oriented than pyle, being that they don't sell strange things like blenders, hoverboards, and egg cookers. You also have, monoprice, micca, dayton and goldwood's brands. And SMSL.
do you know where i can buy show room
I almost bought the SB16 Ultra but since I already have a ported 10 inch is why I didn't. My room rattles enough.
haha. get some subwoofer isolation
The windows are crappy.... they are easily one of the worst windows you can have installed. The feet wouldn't help.
put some screws in that man
this sounds good!!!
Love my Pb 4000! I steered away from the 16 ultra since it seems to be under ported and at $2500 for 1 sub the competition is fantastic with lots of different choices. The dual opposed 18 inch sub from PSA is only 2k. The reason I’m not going that route is that it’s too wide and won’t fit through my theater door. So anther PB 4000 will suffice. I watched edge of tomm last night and I gotta say....the 4000 just rocks!! Once the lights go down I’m more than satisfied with my choice. I’m sure the 16 is a beast too just not for me for the $$$
yeah the 4000 is the best! I dont really think the ultra is going to be that much better, but I have to try one out in my house.
Look That BEAAAAAST. Fantastic.
it was everything i hoped
I was just in that room yesterday showing my friend the SVS subs. I'm adding a room to back of house but The Colony has a 25 day lag on permits because of all the construction:(
The foundation will be 16x28. 2x16 closet on one end with po kept doors at the entrance. Which of those subs you think will sound the sweetest?
You local! right on. For a bigger space i find that any ported option is a great choice. I would say either pb-4000 or pb16 ultra would be fine. if you plan of having more than one viewing spot duals are recommended. You wanna use my links to order buddy?
I noticed you had links. Will probably help you out. On a "sadder note". Got email back from building inspector. I need to measure 30 inches from the edge of the alley concrete. Then 20 feet from there. That just dropped my room down to a 16x26. Oh well. Means it will be cheaper. Having the slab and frame with roof built then I will do the rest. Hopefully doing a "proper" install:)
Two feet aint that bad. I really appreciate the love if you do use my links. helps Make the channel better with more content for you guys. Let me know how it all goes. Im here to answer your questions whenever you need.
Who cares about the speakers.... LOOK AT THE Cakes...
I wonder how close my 500 dollar own created dual sub system gets to this ^^
Probably pretty close
dont you listen any music wht that sht to heard us
What i think? I think it sounds TERRIBLE...becsuse i watch this on an samsung gslaxy s5.....what do you expect me to hear?????
Get some headphones buddy? I recorded it in high resolution. Maybe youtube squashed it with its compression. Sorry brother. trying to give the best i can.
That Home Theater Dude iam kidding bro. I know the sub. Ive ecperienced myself :)
Ahh. No big good buddy. I just get alot of comments like that so I try to answer them all. Right on man.
Haha we use that same atmos demo disc at work. The amaze demo is short and sweet
yeah that one is pretty sweet
I am an SVS fanboy. So many subwoofer brands and they all have diehard fans. When people come into my theater they cannot locate my PB Ultra 16 until I turn the lights on after the movie and usually at first they think it is a refrigerator because of how gigantic it is. Great choice.
Right on Tristan. I have been a huge believer in SVS subs since the first time I heard one. After that I have never bought another brands sub
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude best investment in my home theater by far. Totally changed the size and quality of my soundstage. After adding the PB 16 Ultra I felt like I bought all new speakers. Brought out the mids and highs so much more dynamic.
What the DB you putted the svs ?
Nicely 0:47
Do they sell that backlight for the tv . Do you know where I can buy
Did I see some Definitive Technology towers? You should get a demo of those!!!
That room was full of def tech. the atmos sounded the best!
That Home Theater Dude Did you listen to the BP9080’s? Or any of the Demand bookshelves? Your thoughts?
I heard a bunch, but I didnt get the models of the ones I heard. The night was kind of fast and furious. I didnt have time to stop and smell the roses. haha
I've seen that Nebraska Furniture Mart traveling to Mckinney it's enormous. It's got its own 5 story parking garage I think lol. Dang I didn't know they had this kind of quality A/V gear.
Yeah they have everything. its like a mall in there. Bad marketing but cool store
You gonna upgrade??
you know it!
That Home Theater Dude i know you already 😁😁 looking forward to see the unbox vid. 👻
gotta start working out now... its almost 200lbs!!
All that gear is so cool. I have two SvsPb12 plus subs and thought I had died and gone to heaven and now this?? Grrrrrr!! I want!!! That beast wasn’t even breaking a sweat! Headroom for days.
It was serious. I'll check one out in my house later this summer
the bass,only JBL is authentic
When I lived in Owensboro, Ky There were 2 places besides Best buy, and big box stores that sold stereos and stuff unfortunately I never dropped in, I do remember wearing out the Klipsch demo setup at best buy, though. That and the sony 5.1 setup. I avoided the bose.
i did a demo of bose @ NFM... meh...
I have heard the bose systems too they were loud but not much else to remember. I think i'll stick to Dayton, Klipsch, JBL, Technical Pro, Technics, etc.
i dont miss my old bose. it was great for tv... not so much with movies
Man think i found my new lounge sound system set up , will be able to get sweet revenge with my annoying neighbor.
Do it buddy! The sub is serious business. If you serious about buying let me know
It looks nice but people have 2 of them The one I want has 2 18s And is only 2 grand
rhythmik?
I have that same Dolby Atmos demo disc 😊
Ok. I'm drooling now.
What do you think about audioquest cable's?
Good cables. Low fail rate, but kinda pricey
You the man brother!!! Those subs are awesome!!
Those are some big Sub-woofers! :-D
much bigger than I thought
👍
Great video. I order the optoma uhd60 to replace my 75in 4k Lg. Love my pb4000 send me urs if u upgrade lol
hahah! I dont think i can afford the shipping!
That Home Theater Dude lol I'll pay for shipping
hahaha nice try you
What was the first screen to your right as you walked into the room?
dont remember. sorry buddy
Let me know what projector you decide on. It seems we have the same taste in speakers lol. Im doing a dedicated ht but I still have alot to buy including receiver and projector. Thanks for the video pal.
its between the uhd60 optoma and the 5040ub from epson. one is 4k the other is 2kish? haha
I have looked at those as well but after playing with the projector people calculator for my room now I'm leaning towards jvc x570 or x590.
Projector central calculator*
those guys supposed to send me a projector next week... we will see
What store is this so I can find out where its located
Francisco Caballero it’s called Nebraska furniture mart.
I have a question for you I have a 5.1 system and I’m getting a pair of SVS prime elevation for a5.1.2 systems your recommendation for the placement of the SVS prime elevation?
I would say put them on the same wall as your screen or tv. I like to put them as high on the wall as possible right above the L and R channel. If you want you can mount them ON the ceiling too so they hang and fire down at you. That setup makes them sound amazing. When did you wanna buy them?
That Home Theater Dude If you put them high and your front wall you still get the high effects for dtsx and atmos?
Oscar Avalos I almost did what THTG suggested (didn't only because there wasn't going to be enough vertical separation because my front towers sit in an elevated niche) so my next option was to mount my Elevations as high as I could to the left and right of my couch and set them as top middle heights in my receiver
yes you do!. They are coded very similar ad as long as you have the proper setup in the settings of your avr you will get great immersion sound out of those channels and it doesnt matter what codec you are using.(atmos or dtsx)
I like the left and right approad too, i just cant do it cause I have stairs to the left of my couch, I might mount them to the ceiling and have them hanging just like an in ceiling configuration. The new projector and screen will dictate what I do with the heights
Nice review ,The SVS is amazing
agreed
What game are you playing?
Star wars battlefield. Great height effects!
Have you orded the PB16-ULTRA..?
Peter J I think it ships Monday :)
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude Ok hope you dont feel that it's so big diffrent betwin them, starting to get to expensive for me watching your channel..😂 but it's probloby a great subb and it should be other wise everybody would youst settle whit pb4000. But it's going to funny to hear what you think about the differens.🙂
yeah. we will see :)
why didn't they just play the amaze demo..its better than that rubbish game demo
stuff that i can't buy =/
You and me both buddy.
Can’t wait
AWWW yeahh!!
Just ordered one, cant wait to feel it in action.
Have you received it yet
@@duhgreat8449 I will get it by the weekend if all goes well
@@duhgreat8449 Got it, high end sub, very accurate and dynamic. Its huge size should be taken into account.
I'd love to switch my Klipsch sub for another SVS. Just not sure what to do. Space limitations.
Antoine Byrd i was using a klipsch r 115 sw . Did a update to a pb 4000 . I'm loving it . No regrets !! So much better
De Jonge Neven I've got a pc 4000 in back corner. Loving it. I'll have to check the PB dimensions. I think it may be too big to replace the Klipsch in front corner.
Yeah the space thing is tough. Once I get your house dialed in you can come check out thathometheaterdude world headquarters to see the pb4000 in action. Deal?
You got it!
You have space limitations? I can barely fit an 8" in my room.
Sounds pretty damn good what speakers were they using they sounded very clean and clear
I think they were def tech. the atmos effects were amazing!
I was there earlier today buying a new projector.
AJ Aerial which one you get?
That Home Theater Dude I ended up replacing my Epson 2150 with the Epson 4000.
Yeah I saw that one there. I think im going with the epson 5040!
That Home Theater Dude I walked around NFM for about an hour contemplating on which to get. I watched CooLoser tech, Projector review inc, and Majestechs UA-cam videos to ultimately assist with my decision.
I have been watching videos like crazy too to help me decide. I was gonna go optoma uhd60. but The epson has lens shift so I can go between cinemascope and 16x9 with a push of a button. I like that
Just save up for the Krell Master Reference Sub only 45k duel 15 inch subs 450lbs and 2,600 watts pure class A power.
What kind of rx7 you rocking? I used to have an Evo IX
