cleanser, moisturizer, spf and optionally a form of retinoid. took me days of research to find out these are the only essentials, so glad to see a mainstream channel be straightforward about it for once.
Vitamin C also helps, as it's a collagen building block. Adipeau active cream also works (can't use it with retinol though). If you're older and want to go harder, red light therapy and other collagen building tools also will boost you (dermarollers, microcurrent devices, etc.) but you will be spending money. But yeah, the ones you listed are like the basics. The other fancy ingredients are mostly just noise. 👍
Can I ask if you have any recommendations that helped your rosacea? Have tried antibiotics (oral and topical), simplifying cleansing and moisturiser routine, as well as other changes. It’s hard to keep the pesky pustules away! Thank you

The harshest thing I use on my skin for my acne are salicylic acid cleansers, particularly in the summer. I avoid the ones with microplastic scrubbing agents, partly because of environmental concerns, and partly because they just give me sensory issues- I hate how they feel. But my main thing is probably just drinking a lot of water, getting lots of sleep, and not really drinking a lot of alcohol.

Same problem with hair products. As soon as a doctor made me aware that hair is "medically dead" and nothing can affect it outside the body I stopped using anything for 'hair health'. If you're reading this and it is new information, please know the only thing that can affect your hair is your diet.
I deleted Instagram, Facebook and TikTok 3 years back and since then I have been the happiest, I take less pictures and upload none. The only social media I have is UA-cam.
When celebrities & influencers promote anything, just think of tv & film in general, makeup & good lighting are in place before screens are even switched on. One thing people often miss is good hygiene throughout the day, wash your hands & touch your face less. I'm no germphobe but money, keyboards in work & (shared) touchscreens - which are now in most supermarkets, packaging of the stuff in the shops, public transport, door handles particularly the inside bathroom door, we're generally in contact with stuff 'others' are using & they may not be so hygienic, certian things have been lying around for a while in all sorts of conditions too.
So agree! I'm 37, never tanned or done tanning beds and always use sunblock, not had botox, fillers etc. Still get ID'd at bars. 😂 All your skin needs is moisturiser, sunblock and to avoid tanning, also make sure to drink enough water and eat nutritious food.
@@cecillewolters1995no need to flex about it, is it? We all age, so by praising your „young“ skin, you’re putting down everyone who experiences a very normal aging process. We are multifaceted humans, why do we measure our worth (especially women’s) in how much life is shown on our skin…
Whenever people talk about skin care they never talk about the rest of the body. The different textures and sensitivity levels are also never talked about.
I've been using retinoids for 3 years now in conjunction with a sunscreen, moisturizer and a cleanser. I'm 24 but I get asked which grade I'm in or if I'm underage at the theatre(multiple times ). Consistency is key, stick with even a semblance of a routine and you'll see improvements.
Bombarding your skin with many bizarre products is bound to have adverse results. Your skin, along with every other part of your body, knows how to take care of itself for a reason. The only thing you could add is mitigating factors your skin can't control, like dirt/debris you accumulate throughout the day, and oil buildup. If that's checked, you're fine. Use moisturizer before going out if you want to look that much better but no more.
Twice during watching i pressed “skip” button … adverts Both about “skin-care beauty product😂” 💚 i enjoy your content . “Thank you for genuine info, succinctly delivered eloquently 💚”
Wash my face with cold water in the morning, Kirk’s liquid soap at night, moisturize with jojoba oil. I wear a hat when the UV is higher or prolonged exposure…sunblock of any kind makes me breakout. As long as I eat quality food and stay hydrated my skin doesn’t suffer. I’m almost 40, and I’ve learned that less is more. If I have a breakout, I use Pacifica dry it out acne gel spot treatment. My skin isn’t great, I’ve had 20+ years of acne damage and lifetime of sun damage. But I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t. So going forward I hope to create less damage.
This is true, although there obviously are plenty of other things that do also work on specific issues. Niacinamide has done a lot for my hyperpigmentation and has evened out my skin tone a lot. A glycolic acid toner for exfoliation twice a week has also done a lot for my skin. A good Vit C/alpha arbutin serum can also support evenness in tone, which honestly is more important for a youthful look than reducing lines. You don't NEED any of these, but they do work in proper formulations. I use The Ordinary, at a very manageable price point. Don't fall for things like collagen serums. The molecules are too big to penetrate the skin and will not replenish your collagen stores. Peptides seem to work better but tbh just getting enough protein in your diet is probably even more effective.
@@theghostpirate5327vit c, alpha arbutin, Kojic acid, tranxemic acid, exfoliate twice week (depending your skin type use select any aha) And yes avoid direct sun light for longer duration.
I use glycolic acid body wash. I mix it with water on my scrubbie and lather it over my skin, leave it on for at least 3 minutes, then give my skin a good scrubbing before rinsing. It works better than anything else I've tried, and my skin feels as soft as a baby!!! @theghostpirate5327
My skin care is SO SIMPLE. Clean, Moisturize, SPF. Extra? I use a simple chemical peel once a week or mud mask. Retinol before bedtime on clean skin alongside my good old moisturizer. The extras: Retinol, mud mask & at home chemical peel. Clean, moisturize, SPF. Those I don’t go without. PS: Price? My chemical peel is less than 15 USD & same with my retinol. I sometimes splurge on particular more pricey moisturizers but eghhh. My skin care is pretty frugal yet MAGICALLY luxuriously effective.
@ everyone’s skin is different but I buy most of my stuff at Trader Joe’s: Moisturizer, SPF 40 & Retinol. ( In the peak of the summer I use 30 SPF, I know how ironic but I’m so pale 🥹) and lather my hands and arms even in the winter. Hands get slapped with tons of sun if you drive & they’re overlooked. I believe 🇺🇸 is the only country with the Trader Joe’s supermarket. ( I may be wrong) The Ordinary peeling solution is the one I use. HOWEVER, with the mud masks, it always varies depending on my budget. Or I make them at home with things that I have in the kitchen. The last one I got that I’m currently using is from Target ( forgot the name I’m currently out of state) it just appealed to me but it wasn’t grossly expensive. I like the practicality of using less products. Who wants to do a whole gooey vomit of layers if you’re really sleepy? It’s just NOT sustainable for ME. No thank you. I drink a lot of water and I like vegetables 🤷🏻♀️, I don’t smoke nor do drugs, I drink socially but not often. It’s also genetics? 🧬 SPF 🧴 I can not STRESS IT ENOUGH!! At 36 that is a huge piece of I’m aging slowly. Idc about brands. Like I said I sometimes splurge. LIKE SOMEEETIMES. Lol
That is not a simple 3 step. You are using retinol and exfoliation. Why are you not counting those as essential? Does using it once or twice a week not counted as an essential step?
@ that’s objective. I’m speaking on the layers on top of layers that we see online ( MENTIONED BY THE DOCTOR) he literally said a few steps is enough ( the steps I even mentioned. ) I wash my face before sleep apply retinol and moisturizer. The next day, SPF and moisturizer. That’s pretty simple. Both dry in a matter of seconds before I apply the moisturizer. That’s LITERALLY MY routine And once a week I do either a mask or the peel. Which is 10 minutes. I can go without those. NOT the moisturizer and SPF. I’m out of town and all I pack is SPF & Moisturizer. How many steps do you have DAILY? wash and moisturize ? Good for you bud. Is it a competition? Edit: my last two sentences were rude. Apologies ✨😟
Using soap on your face is extremely drying it won’t do you any favours long term just a warning swatch for dermatologist thoughts on this - I recommend S.nature rice foam cleanser!
I did my research a while back, I went down the rabbit hole. Other than a cleanser/moisturizer I would recommend Retinol, Vitamin C, and a good Sunscreen. These products have the most research behind them and they do work! Cheers!
I use a gentle salicylic acid cleaner (prewash with a light oil cleanser if wearing makeup), hyaluronic acid serum, a barrier friendly moisturiser, and spf50. If I'm breaking out I add a peroxide treatment gel for a while. I do a sheet mask now and then for fun but otherwise I keep it simple. I also use soft reusable face pads when cleansing and only use them once before washing.
I like that you said "good genes". I did 23 and me health plus traits. It says I'm at increased likelihood of acne based on my DNA. My mom has always had acne. I had it as soon as I hit puberty and only in the last 5 or so years (I'm 39 now) has my skin no longer got cystic acne and other painful acne, I do get pimples but when I expect to distinct PMS. Anyway, I definitely experienced the genetic factors and knowing that from my own test helped me to recognize that I wasn't dirty or any of the other teenage stereotypes! I wish I could find a sunscreen that works for me. Mineral ones seem to need to be rubbed in too much for daily use and I haven't found a chemical one where it doesn't have the sunscreen smell, which triggers migraines. Fortunately, I don't spend hours outside very often so I've never had a burn on my face but I'm always looking for a sunscreen moisturizer that is odorless and inexpensive..
I’d recommend the airy fit from haruharu wonder (the yellow one not the purple as it shows up blueish even on my pale skin!) and the pureto centella one. Both are comfortable, fast absorbing, spf 50, usually less than £15 on amazon, and don’t tend to sting the eyes (mine are super sensitive especially if I’m sweating). The isntree watery sun gel is great too, as long as you don’t mistakenly get a fake. They work for my dryish sensitive skin anyways, hope they help you.
As a add on to the other poster comment, those two sunscreen are Korean, but in general the Asian sunscreen rubbed into the skin better and usually don’t have a “sunscreen smell” mostly are lightly scented or non scented at all. Just be aware they have different ratings systems for uva/uvb ray,
Would like to add that Im super sensitive to sunscreen too and jp/korean sunscreens ARE A MUST! Ive used the uv aqua moisture milk (more oily/watery but absorbs very quickly with not much smell) and the biore uv aqua sunscreen (creamy but not thick. Has a delightful smell, absorbs more quickly?) Both are very good! The moisture milk can be a bit annoying to wash off your hands so I prefer the uv aqua. Just listing the stuff that helped me if you're desperate for good reccomendations!
A history of acne may be linked to better skin aging, as people who experienced acne during their youth tend to have longer telomeres in their cells, which are protective caps at the end of chromosomes associated with slower cellular aging, potentially leading to a younger appearance later in life; essentially, acne-prone skin might age more slowly than skin without a history of acne.
Over 50. I've used expensive creams, and cheap ones. After all the trial and error, have been doing exactly what this vid suggests for about 20 years now. Works for me. I do want a pampering treat sometimes though. I bit of luxury. So I'll splurge on a nice, refreshing, hydrating spray occasionally.
Excellent detail for both the good and bad stuff. There should be more regulation preventing companies from using terms on their products that can mislead the general public to believe their products are suitable. There should be a medical standard that makes it impossible for companies to use terms that have no relation to the product but are disguised in a way to make people believe they are. I❤Dr Karan
No processed foods, no animal products, no sugar, no oils apart from olive oil in the air fryer and tonnes of phytonutrients from vegetables and fruit gives me a natural glow with no pimples ever. A singular vegan friendly shower/shampoo product is all I need with showers always skipped, when possible. Cycling everywhere helps too. Sometimes I take vitamin D supplements but I am not convinced, the only regular supplement is Marmite, which is for the vitamin B12. Since quitting processed foods with a complete abstinence from refined sugar, dairy and other animal products I love the skin that I am in. No skincare products can improve on optimal. Thanks phytonutrients!
I don’t sell veganism to a hypocrite ignorant world. Instead, I show the outcome what I’ve achieved through a whole-food, plant-based diet combined with fasting. People are shocked when I reveal my real age-I’m 38, but the world thinks I’m 23! I’ve also reversed my asthma and other health conditions.
The Ordinary moisturiser is so good I’ve used 2 from chemists which were the medical-looking ones and free from a bunch of stuff and say they’re for eczema, but it got worse while I was using them, but the Ordinary one helped They’re also what my mum recommends
The Ordinary really does have some great products. The relatively simple formulations make it easier to find out which ingredients work for you and which don't. It takes some experimenting but I like the transparency of their actives. Most of my products come from them (the other brand I use consistently is The Inkey List).
If you want to use only 1 skincare/haircare, then it must include a multipeptide collagen and keratin treatment with growth factors for longer lasting results. Skinlyte has a soap that is loaded not only with collagen but also keratin peptides. It is called Hair & Whole Body Bar. According to what I read on Amazon, it is fast absorbed because it has an enhanced peptide binding enhancement technology which produces water molecules in a condensation reaction that hydrates skin and hair naturally. It repairs, grows hair, naturally moisturizes, rebuilds and strengthens hair and skin. I got it on Amazon and I am impressed with new benefits I discover every time I use it. I noticed many improvements in my hair, skin and nails. What I like best about it is that it's all natural and without harmful chemicals such as synthetic dyes, fragrance, SLS or preservatives.
Toner, niacinimide (sp?) serum, eye cream, moisturizer, and a zit gel is all I use. At night, it’s just eye cream, moisturizer, and retinol. Oh, and of course sunscreen. Few believe me when I say I’m 32
I have skin sensitivity issues. The common sodium lauryl sulphate surfactant in soap triggers contact dermatitis. Fragrance/essential oils triggers acne. Glycerine bases are a sensory hell... My skin routine is juat an aloe gel or oil based moisturizer and a gel sunscreen with the ocassional oats and wheat based exfoliater. i can't go for a facial or use any face masks out of fear that some ingredient in them will trigger either my acne or dermatitis... 😞 I envy the people who have more than three steps in their skin care routine.
If I didn't know I didn't make a comment I'd think you were my side account because I'm exactly the same as you! I've used some essentials for a short period of time like vitamin C serum and retinol and it worked for me well but it worked so much better when I added more vitamins, proteins and oil to my diet. Aloe gel is a lifesaver and gel/water based products like sunscreen, cleansers and moisturizers are a must. Thanks to a previous video from Dr. Karan I've minimized my routine from 5-8 steps to 2-3 steps. People refuse to understand and just say I'm lazy or assume I'm eating unhealthy
@@Diana-mu9vd Thank God for Mysore Sandal soap. The formulation is old and hasn't been changed for decades and is one of the most affordable daily use soaps available. If not, I would have needed to buy extremely expensive luxury soaps. For a face cleanser, I have one from a local business that uses sodium lauryl sarcosinate as the Surfactant. The same company has shampoos and conditioners I can use. And I always need to keep a tin of beeswax handy for when skin cracks because Petroleum Jelly is another sensory hell... Retinol didn't work for me. Changing my diet to increase fibre and protein helped improve my skin condition. I should always keep a tube of prescription cream ready because even effing walking out of my home causes issues. On the bright side, I don't get sick very often. I had a fever about two years ago. Seems like some cosmic trade off (even though it's probably the diet and exercise)
Morning: Cleanser, spf Before bed: cleanser, Moisturizer, Retinol A good Cleanser does like 80% of the work and Retinol 20%. Everything else is just optimizing to your skin type or treat side effects.
I'm very light-skinned, and I do live under a rock. I use an underground train for daily commute, which means, like 30 minutes time outside during either very early, or late enough hours. Sunscreens are both irritating and unreliable. At best, they are very slightly irritating (make me break out with pimples), and I can't guarantee slathering enough cream. With that said, I do use a Korean moisturising 50 spf sunscreen when I'm outside for a significant amount of time. (Korean because they are gentle and not as expensive as some others, and with me these creams expire before they run out).
I use Korean sunscreens also. The filters in American sunscreens make my eyes burn terribly. With my dark skin, mineral SS gives a terrible white cast. I have sampled some that don’t, but I can’t afford them.
It's a "to each of their own" kind of matter. I used to wear this brand of spf that is not only suffocating to the skin but also causes bad breakouts. Switching to a different brand with matte finish suits my face better
3 weeks earlier I was searching something concise with some scientific rational and logical For skin care routine and here is the video Kisi ko shiddhat se chaho toh kaynat bhi madad karti hai 😂 Imjk Thanks karan❤
I do think some nuance in the Sunscreen discussion was missed here. It's not just about Skin Cancer or Cosmetic issues (therefore if you're more or less protected from the skin cancer risk and you're not vain, easy, don't bother with the daily! Which is wrong). Skin fragility and wound healing are major factors in our skin health, especially as we get older. My family runs a care home for the elderly, and I can promise you, besides the skin cancer risk (which is very real) skin fragility (meaning how thin the skin is and how easy it is for your skin to recover from wounds) massively affects your quality of life as an elderly person. Daily sunscreen throughout your life means your skin will age better and be stronger. Many elderly individuals have skin that is paper thin and skin cuts from the slightly thing, and it takes them weeks or months to recover and restricts their mobility. And even cosmetically, we shouldn't dismiss the importance of that. It is very easy in your 20s and 30s to dismiss cosmetic issues, but when you are in your 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond, you will feel the difference. It's good to build up the daily habit of protecting your skin's health with sunscreen, which also helps it massively cosmetically. People think they don't care about certain things, and then as they get older turn to cosmetic treatments, injectables etc when they could have simply used sunscreen on a daily basis and would look much better for it without anything else. So don't bother checking the UV index, just build the habit of daily sunscreen. Wake up, brush your teeth and apply a sunscreen like you're applying moisturiser. Nowadays sunscreens look and feel like moisturiser and are cream based so they also moisturise your skin anyway.
Hi doctor Karan, can you pls simplify the mysteries around hair care and scalp care too. Your skincare video helped me a lot. So pls help us with our hairs too.
Dr Karan, I really Appreciate that you have show the one-second of Delhi pollution. Sir can you please make a video for Bath Hygiene for showers practices and so on.
I clicked on this video coz Dr. Karan and I have a minimal skincare routine (cleanser, sunscreen, and lotion). On my teens I had very minimal skincare routine. During my young adult years was the boom of Korean skincare routine, I joined the hype. Now as an adult, I can't keep up with the price and quantity of the skincare products so I went back to minimal skincare and my skin improved! (Disclaimer: with proper diet, exercise and sleep!) Was watching this while washing my face then 10:58 happened 😭😂 the one and only cleanser that i was using for a year, perfect 3 out of 3 checked! Good thing it's almost empty. Thanks to this informative video, Dr. Karan. I will be mindful of the skincare products that I will buy in the future. Also adding retinol next time
it was when I realised that skincare for babies was incredibly gentle, simple and nourishing that I thought, hey why are we not doing the same as adults? Is that why children have soft skin? OF course you lose moisture as you age so need a heavy duty cream. But people use baby oil and high spf on their infants every day. It's when we become teenagers we start filling cabinets with harsh astringent products which only seem to make acne work, make us sensitive to the sun. My skin looks better now at 25 than it did at 18. I use four things, cleanser, moisturiser (cream or oil), prescribed differin, SPF. That's it. Sometimes I use this Japanese hyaluronic acid serum because it feels nice!
I have Neurodermitis. Spend so much time on pharmacy grade skincare. You know what helped? Using only warm water for cleaning, organic oil for moisturaizing and avoid certain foods. Much cheaper, much more effective. I have a flare up every few years only if I cannot "control" food etc., eg bc of a hospital stay.
For me it's similar. I use olive oil for my skin when I have a flare up. Might not work for everyone but for me that's perfect. Whenever I see people show their "everything" shower with them using three different types of soap, physical exfoliation and let everything soak in like the dishes from last weekend, my skin starts to itch😂 😂
I'm 39 and only use a mild facewash (Eucerin gel with hyaluronic acid in it, or a Garnier with Aloe Vera and Hyaluronic acid in it, or just my Eucerin pH5 wash lotion that I also use for my body) when I'm in the shower, and that's it as far as routines goes... Moisturizer is something I only use when I feel I need it, same with lotions. I hate the sticky or greasy feeling from using moisturizers and lotions and such. Sunscreen is something I only use in spring or summer if I'm going to be outside in the sun for an extended period of time. I'm Swedish, living in Sweden, so most of the year the UV is pretty low. I can't stand sunscreen because of how it feels on the skin and I haven't found any sunscreen that doesn't feel awful and/or cause issues for my skin, so I only use it if I have to, which is basically only if the UV is at like 5 or above and I'm going to be outside for more than about 30 minutes, maybe around UV 3 if I'm going to be outside and exposed for many hours. Being disabled, I tend to stay indoors at home a lot though, even in summer... I may use some hydrating face mask on rare occasions if I want to pamper myself a bit extra and feel my skin is a bit dry and/or the weather is rough on the skin (like in winter) I have little or no wrinkles, no grey hair, people can't believe I'm in my (very) late 30's (many think I'm in my 20's) For me when it comes to skincare, less is more! I also hardly ever wear makeup... Apart from washing my face when I'm in the shower, I just don't have any skincare routine...
I was side eyeing you at its okay to skip sunscreen with dark skin but then mentioned UK and yeah fair lol, here for 4 months per year the UV will reach 11+
I aim to wear spf daily still, as I’m often outside at work. It can’t do any harm, plus it ensures I thoroughly double cleanse most evenings to remove any sawdust & irritants. This vid has made me feel less paranoid about the days where I skip it and made me not feel bad about not reapplying. Maybe if I were in Australia every 2hrs would make sense, but it seems too excessive for the gloomy UK lol.
I mean hypoallergenic is not a guarantee but there definitely are some chemicals used in cosmetics that are more likely to cause allergies than others, and products minimizing those might be good if you find you skin reacting to many things but don’t know what. In my country there’s an allergy and asthma organization that certifies products as allergy and asthma friendly, based on certain criteria. Typically products will be fragrance free etc. Why not reduce some unnecessary chemical load if you can you know, unless you really really enjoy fragrance.
I unfortunately have perioral dermatitis, therefore I cannot put anything on my skin. No cleanser, no moisturiser, no sun screen, absolutely nothing. It really sucks, but my skin looks so much better like this than when I used to use products.
it might take a while to find products to suit ur skin but my advice is dont cheap out, because even if u do you'll end up spending a lot more in the long run trying to find the perfect product
At this time, skin care has a large market. Companies, influencers, etc are fighting for your money whether their product will help you or not. Once a brand that has a simple skincare line becomes the staple is when this will stop. The basics are cleanser, targetted serum like vitamin c, moisturizer, sunscreen, and retinol at night.
Idk but exfoliation is super important for me. It has what helped my acne prone and acne scarred skin. Salycic acid is a game changer for example. Even without acne i would atleast want to exfoliate once a week.
Great video! Might want to double check the stock pics you all use. Those Ache hunter gatherers are from the wrong continent. Try Google lens. Or zooming in.
Thanks! As a 40 yo woman with (very) light skin and that hates taking time for a skincare routine (no way I would do a 9 steps each day lol), knowing what I have to do and what to watch for is precious.
Your skin is like a baby. It wants consistency and simplicity. A treat is ok every once in a while. Your hydration and diet does more for your skin's integrity than slathering something on its surface (not everything provides lasting results, just temporary on the surface).
Those people have resurfacing lasers and cosmetic procedures that aren’t easily affordable on the regular. The creams are basically a scam or degrade your skin health over time due to over processing/novel chemical exposure.
This works for the basics, but doesn’t address specific issues. Like alpha arbutin finally fixed my severe acne scarring after literal decades of other skin care hadn’t come close to touching it. Also, sunscreen is very difficult to fully wash off with just regular face wash, you really need an oil based cleaner. Use one of those, followed by a moisturising face wash to fully remove makeup and sunscreen. The best and most effective thing I ever learned to help with acne is to change your pillowcase as often as possible. Ideally you use it for a night, flip it over for the next night, then change it for a fresh one for the third night, and just repeat like that.
cleanser, moisturizer, spf and optionally a form of retinoid.
took me days of research to find out these are the only essentials, so glad to see a mainstream channel be straightforward about it for once.
those are all scam
That is more than two
Vitamin C also helps, as it's a collagen building block. 👍
What about Vitamin C serum?
Basically yes 4 steps in each routine is enough.
Developing rosacea taught me the value of keeping skincare super simple. Less really is more.

Also add good quality oil to your diet (fish, flax, hemp, krill) and of course, lots of water. Your skin will glow.
Krill? Like whales?
The harshest thing I use on my skin for my acne are salicylic acid cleansers, particularly in the summer. I avoid the ones with microplastic scrubbing agents, partly because of environmental concerns, and partly because they just give me sensory issues- I hate how they feel. But my main thing is probably just drinking a lot of water, getting lots of sleep, and not really drinking a lot of alcohol.
what can i do to get rid of tan?
@@theghostpirate5327you can’t really get rid of a tan from the sun. You can lessen it by wearing sunscreen or a moisturizer with sunscreen everyday but your skins tan is sort of permanent. It only goes away because your skin cells regenerate after awhile.

Same problem with hair products. As soon as a doctor made me aware that hair is "medically dead" and nothing can affect it outside the body I stopped using anything for 'hair health'.
If you're reading this and it is new information, please know the only thing that can affect your hair is your diet.
Sorry for your loss.

Dr. Karan, please make videos like this addressing showering, brushing teeth, and hair care!!!
Peptides seem to work better but tbh just getting enough protein in your diet is probably even more effective.

what can i do to get rid of tan?
Are there certain brands you like for cleanser, moisturizer, spf, peel, mud mask? 🙂
( I may be wrong)
The Ordinary peeling solution is the one I use.
I’m speaking on the layers on top of layers that we see online ( MENTIONED BY THE DOCTOR) he literally said a few steps is enough ( the steps I even mentioned. )
I wash my face before sleep apply retinol and moisturizer. The next day, SPF and moisturizer. That’s pretty simple. Both dry in a matter of seconds before I apply the moisturizer. That’s LITERALLY MY routine
And once a week I do either a mask or the peel. Which is 10 minutes.
I can go without those. NOT the moisturizer and SPF. I’m out of town and all I pack is SPF & Moisturizer.
How many steps do you have DAILY? wash and moisturize ? Good for you bud.
Is it a competition?

I❤Dr Karan

The Ordinary moisturiser is so good
I’ve used 2 from chemists which were the medical-looking ones and free from a bunch of stuff and say they’re for eczema, but it got worse while I was using them, but the Ordinary one helped
They’re also what my mum recommends
The Ordinary really does have some great products. The relatively simple formulations make it easier to find out which ingredients work for you and which don't. It takes some experimenting but I like the transparency of their actives. Most of my products come from them (the other brand I use consistently is The Inkey List).
I vote ordinary too
If you want to use only 1 skincare/haircare, then it must include a multipeptide collagen and keratin treatment with growth factors for longer lasting results.
Man you're a serious Genius. Thank you doctor.
I envy the people who have more than three steps in their skin care routine.
What do you cleanse with?

I’m glad!

So insightful Dr.! ❤❤

Welcome!
it was when I realised that skincare for babies was incredibly gentle, simple and nourishing that I thought, hey why are we not doing the same as adults?
I may use some hydrating face mask on rare occasions if I want to pamper myself a bit extra and feel my skin is a bit dry and/or the weather is rough on the skin (like in winter)
I have little or no wrinkles, no grey hair, people can't believe I'm in my (very) late 30's (many think I'm in my 20's)
For me when it comes to skincare, less is more! I also hardly ever wear makeup...
Apart from washing my face when I'm in the shower, I just don't have any skincare routine...
Thanks doc❤
Great work Sir ❤. Can you also make a video about Hair care, I think it would be very helpful 😊
For good skin: You need inside Silicea. On skin Castor oil, iodine 4 drops.
I was side eyeing you at its okay to skip sunscreen with dark skin but then mentioned UK and yeah fair lol, here for 4 months per year the UV will reach 11+
Yes there’s nuance here which I delved into!
Maybe if I were in Australia every 2hrs would make sense, but it seems too excessive for the gloomy UK lol.
my skin had a difference only when I started to eat more veggies and fruits, took my supplements, exercise and think clean. Nothing else.

My skin seems to really like cocoa butter. I put it over any outbreaks and they clear up quickly.
Thank you doc. This was ace

it might take a while to find products to suit ur skin but my advice is dont cheap out, because even if u do you'll end up spending a lot more in the long run trying to find the perfect product
Actually the cheap stuff works pretty well as long as it contains the right active ingredients!
