NEW Aston Martin Valkyrie LMH TESTING at Donington Park - Pure V12 Sound!

- A first look at the Aston Martin Valkyrie LMH! Nice to see Lazarus itself in person. This car makes an unreal noise, particularly on the downshifts where it sounds a bit like an incoming thunderstorm! And if this was merely a shakedown, it wasn't exactly hanging about either. I do apologise that this is not award winning footage but its the best you've got so far and I wanted to leave a lot of the dead air in just so you can hear it go round this place. Originally had no plan to be at Donington as the exclusive test day at some point in the week became a private one which I didn't know about, but a few miles away this could be heard and so enticed a look down the public footpath that this place backs on to and conveniently also runs right past the circuit! Was not expecting to find a Le Mans Hypercar at Donington Park, and was not expecting it to be the Cosworth V12 powered Valkyrie that was at one time a scrapped project and looked to never be happening. Awesome to see this car and awesome to see it at Donington, which furthers my desire to see the WEC round here and not at Silverstone. But you can argue about that in the comments. It never seemed to have any issues and did a number of half hour stints on what was a very hot day. And yeah there's an ugly watermark in the middle cos I know what you thieving lot can be like! It's my ass on the line putting this content out i'm afraid...

10 years ago I would never have thought we would have another prototype V12 at Le Mans again. It's bonkers!
It's nice to see that the project was revived after effectively being dead as well. Might be the last V12 we ever see in top line racing but that's a line we've also heard before...
Thanks to ACO
They planning hypercar projects since audi left lmp1
@@PescaraProductions Also a relief given they had regulations changed to suit them only to pull out
Ehm...? I'm a bit surprised... This is a 1000+hp hybrid Hypercar! Will there be new regulations to finally fit this car into this class? Would be awesome since this is the ultimate Hypercar...
@@einautofan6685No, Aston already had the rules changed to suit them before they pulled out the first time. There is a Balance of Performance within the hypercar class so they will have to add weight or limit power
If the Cadillac makes the Sound of Fury.
Then the Valkyire makes the Sound of Heaven
Imagine this and Caddy side-by-side down the Mulsanne
Angel vs demon type shit, love it.
it sounds like a Siren going off. like its warning us of something
But what we also need, to balance things out, is... a V10.
should be the "Sound Of Valhalla"
I used to pray for times like these
We've never been more back 🗣💯
I have Drew McIntyre in my head. 😅❤ "I prayed for this.."
That sound of traction control kicking in like the old F1 cars.
Then they torture us with greatness for a couple years in just another "golden era" (that lasts only 2-4 or 5 years tops), and just as you get attached, they just yank it away "fOr GoOd" and for the sake of so-called "eVoLuTiOn" (i.e. stagnation without progress).
Same old cycle.

This car and the Cadillac will make a hell of a combo in Le Mans next year and i'm all up for it
Hopefully that's where I'll see it next!
And the Mustang GT3!
Glickenhaus around the Mulsanne was another thing too
Yeah, and gets gapped by turbo hybrids of toyota, porsche and ferrari , exactly like Cadillac. 😂
@@darkseid1358We'll never know. Just remember that audi beat everyone with a diesel lmp that produces barely any noise. It's so low you can only hear the whoosh of winds getting cut through the aerodynamic of the car
Remember the whole Hypercar category was created to allow this thing to race
Which makes me wonder if they'll be annoyed at that and give it the worst BOP imaginable 😂
@@PescaraProductionsThey'll definitely give them a bad BOP for the first year, that's how they usually do it
No, this thing was made for "the hypercar thing" when the rules required every LMH to build a road going version of their prototype.
I guess it will have close to maximum power allowed, and close to minimum weight, but absolute worse energy per stints allowed
Yeah would of been awesome to see the Bugatti, Konigsegg, Zenvo, Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren,GMA,AMG fighting it out! "What sweet music they make" 😀

How racing teams think they get fans: 🏆
How racing teams actually get fans: 👂
The new Le Mans regs really have worked well in terms of noise for sure. Shame about how quiet the GT3's have to be now though
Thats why I’m a huge caddy fan and why I already love this car!
Sure, but if eventually no success comes you lose all the initial fans you made
@@PescaraProductionsi wouldn’t call the hurracan quiet
@@caledonianrailway1233 But most of the modern GT3s are. Ferrari, Corvette, McLaren, BMW, Aston Martin are all very quiet. Only Lambo and Audi are disgustingly loud without ear protection. To be fair, Ford, Lexus and AMG still provide some good low end rumble.
To everyone at Aston Martin, I thank you for bringing the soul back to sportscar racing! 😃
Cadillac started it with this new golden era! 🎉
I don't think we're really missing anymore sounds from the grid now! Unless someone wants to try a V10🤔
@@PescaraProductions Now that would be the icing on the cake! Different sounds=Happy feelings 😁
It would be insanely epic if Porsche decided to build an LMH with the Carrera GT's engine, but one can dream 😌
@@PescaraProductions maybe redbull could join with a LMH version of the RB17
@Halliday57 It interesting how similar that and the Valkyrie look obviously coming from the same designer. A Valkyrie Evo 2 perhaps
I thank Aston-Martin for finally fitting in the Valkyrie into the class it was originally made / thought for! That's the true thought of a new Hypercar class series! A road-going Hypercar and the racing variant! In other words: A new and modern GT1 Class! My favourite Racing Class when I was a Kid in the 90's! Awesome!👍
I just can't believe it. An actual aspirated V12 entering thw WEC in 2025. Thank you, Aston
And I'd have thought the Italians would have done it first!
What about fuel? Is the fuel of this car will gone faster than others?
@@PescaraProductionsaston never lets us down last GT3 V12, last LMP1 V12 and last hypercar
Damn, I still couldn't believe they stick with the V12 for their LMH racecar. They probably detuned the hell out of the original V12 in Valkyrie roadcar to meet the 700hp limit. But jeez it still sounds angelic...
Yeah I do wonder what effect that'll have on reliability
@@PescaraProductions I'm not surprised if it turns out using a whole new engine with only the block that's been carried over from the roadcar. I'm guessing they lowered the rev limiter to 8.5-9k instead of 11k so the engine is less stressed, even as far as de-stroking it to 5.5-6L capacity. The Cadillac uses 5.5L NA for comparison
@@naufalkusumah2192 From the sound its making, seemingly looks to be around 9K to 11K, its probably in the middle, about 10K RPM, which is both insane and lovely.
If you compare it with the AMR Pro you can really tell the rev limiter is a tad lower on the LMH, again, probably for realibilty concerns
@@JX-ic6me They will definitely be backing the revs down for reliability especially in the 24 hour races like Daytona and Le Mans.
Wouldn’t a downtuned engine be more reliable than one that is maxed out? Isn’t that what Toyota does in their road cars?
It lives.
Thank you for not cutting the video instantly as soon as the car gets besides you like many others.
I didn't get much footage of it cos I only sat up there and hour or two so I wanted it to be heard cos I couldn't see it much. Plus gives you an idea of the lap times on some of the longer shots where I just try and follow where it would be if you could see it

Gosh I was afraid it would be muffled with the footage we got at Silverstone... Thank you for this clip man ! 🥰
Not sure if Silverstones relative blandness made it not sound as good but round here it echos off every bank and tree. Seriously cool stuff, I just wish I could have heard it in the final corner grandstand where everything is twice as loud!
Aston Martin doing the Lord's work bringing back a naturally aspirated V12 back to Le Mans and prototype racing.

Just imagine if Aston Martin made a road or a trackday version of this thing, we already have the Valkyrie being crazy enough, and the AMR Pro which is twice as fast, and the new RB17 that looks like the craziest scientific experiment ever made, there's a bright future ahead for naturally aspirated cars.
They will make a road/track version of this car
They allready made the standard Valkyrie and the Valkyrie AMR PRO. I'm sure there will be an option for new Aero Kit's or maybe some new cars but remember the Valkyrie is still a limited car... We will all see just a view of them outside this Series...
I don't think they can. Valkyrie was already the closest thing they could make to road legal. Then they made a Spider and the AMR Pro, which already shares a lot of DNA with the AMR-LMH. The next version of the Valkyrie will probably be a new road car that's different from the current ones.
Looks and sounds great! I can't wait to see it in person in a few months!

Clearly some people have had similar ideas before. That's why this video shots wise and steadiness wise is awful 😂.
I thought that multi-cylinder engines were expensive, heavy, and inefficient, and that they offered no performance benefits in this day and age when turbochargers have evolved.
They were the product of the romance of the heyday of internal combustion engines, and I intended them to become a memory of the good times.
So I am deeply moved by the fact that we will be able to see a new V12-engine car running on the circuit again.
What's also surprising is that it was Aston Martin that developed it. (I have the impression that Ferrari's motorsport activities have been a great success, but they have achieved this at the cost of abandoning their romance.)
Yeah I was certainly surprised that Ferrari didn't show up with something like this. Or even lamborghini! But then again with Audi pulling out for an F1 project (that I think is gonna be a huge mistake) I guess they have to be the sensible ones
@@PescaraProductions I don't like modern F1, so I haven't watched it for about 10 years. (It used to be my favorite motorsport in the world.)
I'm impressed and amazed that the WEC has complemented much of the essential fun of motorsports that I feel has been lost in modern F1.
The sight of the top automakers from each country competing against each other reminds me of the revival of Group C.
Aston developed the car, Cosworth developed the engine.
@9t14a3 I think the major issue with a lot of stuff at the top level is that the importance of keeping everyone happy and competitive is paramount. Manufacturers spend daft money to ne in F1 and still wind up 12th every week because the exposure is worth it. WEC doesn't have that level of exposure (in fact I think it actually sits behind WRC in terms of engagement figures) so teams aren't gonna sit around being crap for very long. However if WEC gets its arse in gear and makes some minor tweaks they can be there when F1 inevitably falls on its own sword. They've just got to absolutely play their hand correctly. And they've been dealt quite a good one
@@PescaraProductions When I saw the DRS in F1, I understood that adding artificial effects to the battle between drivers is ridiculous.
As for the WEC, I don't fully support the BOP thing. If the advantages gained through extensive technological development are taken away by the regulations, each manufacturer will lose the motivation to actively develop.
On the other hand, if there is no control over such regulations, the race will become a one-sided game for the teams with the most money.
I think it is very difficult to balance the regulations to encourage teams to participate while also making it an exciting sport for spectators. This is because the power balance of the participating cars is constantly changing depending on the financial strength of the teams and internal political factors.
This is the difficulty of motorsports being a sport where machines compete, and it is different from the majority of other sports where flesh and blood humans compete.
In that sense, I sympathize with the difficulties of management. That is why I am very impressed that WEC is now becoming a very healthy and exciting motorsport.
New manufacturers are participating one after another, and we can see fun races. I hope that the excessive race to develop doesn't lead to safety being neglected and the category itself not disappearing.
Good to see a V12 back at Le Mans again
It'll be 14 years since the last one appeared next year
