WHY LANE 3?
We run in lane 3 because our track is only 320 meters long. If we run in lane 3 it makes the length of the track 333.33m which is exactly 3 laps to 1000m. We do a lot of 1000m reps on our track so this makes it easy on the mind to understand the distance. Also, when we run in lane 3 the turns are a little bit wider which is easier on the legs. We also have 400, 800, 1200, and 1600 marks on the track in lane 3 (the track was resurfaced a little over a year ago). There are also marks for the 400-1600 in the other lanes. The girls team runs in lane 1 for their workouts because their strides are much smaller than the guys so they can handle the tighter turns much better. We often work out at the same time as the girls so it makes sense that each team has their own lane to run in. I see people ask me this in every single track session I post so I hope this clears it up.

Try doing intervals in reverse direction so your inside leg is your right leg thus giving a good balance to both legs.
I’m primarily a swimmer but like to run, too. I found a dried-up banana at the bottom of an old swim bag that I probably last used at a swim meet 10 years ago. Always check your equipment bags, guys. Great job on the videos Spencer. And yes, cameraman Adam always does it right.

Ooh my coach makes us do ladders. It’s when you start at 200, then 400, 600, and 800 and you climb back down by doing 800, 600, 400, and 200. Usually he makes us do it around 3 or 4 times
that's torture but u know what's even more torture running 6 800s the amount of lactic pain u go through with minimal break time between each is tremendous

Same bro, I had to do 2 meets in a row and I had to triple on the one I had today after running the 1600 yesterday and now I'm hella lactic from running the 4by8, 1600 then 3200 but I qualified for state in 3200 and prd by 26 seconds

@@420jettt2 For that meet I didn't try very hard at all in the 4by8 and split 2:28, for the 1600 I ran a 5:18 which is 1 second off my pr but I know that I can run faster than a 5:17 and for the 3200 I ran a 11:20 which is pretty good but I can also run faster than that if I didn't have to triple that day and if I didn't have a meet the day before (Btw I'm in 7th grade so that's why the times are so slow)

I tried to run on that track whenever I was in D.C. overnight on business. The first time it was late at night and I did not realize that it's only 320 meters. Ran what I thought was a 200 in 26 seconds. In my 40's. 😂
