I've never seen the Joker movie. It is not something that I am really interested in. But when it came out, it was revolutionary. Whoever saw it loved it! It made a bunch of money because of that. When I heard that they were going to make a sequel and no less than a musical with Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. I just shook my head and thought that it won't end well.
Nah, because the first movie felt like a pointless, randomly thrown together ride and sometimes, just sometimes, you catch sight of an awesome scene and think "dang that's good" and then you continue the pointless ride, waiting for another good part to show up. It was the parts of its sum that made it good, not the sum of its parts. Neither this new movies' parts nor sum could save it. This was just a boring, pointless, randomly thrown together ride all the way through, and you don't get a single worthwhile or even accidentally good scene. A masterpiece in the mundane.
I watched this in a theater where they had these moving seats in response to what happens in the movie. They moved once for this movie, at the s*x scene. Thats it, thats the only time they move up and down and it did nothing but make me and my friends burst out laughing. 😭
Todd Phillips is a lot like Zack Snyder. Well, a better-ish version. Made a decent movie, probably by accident, then kept going only to show us how much of a hack he actually is. And it was DC properties that really showed us how fundamentally incompetent they are
