    It’s so awesome how you play the guitar like it’s a piano. Really opens up the instrument with two hands playing notes. So much more you can do with it, the possibilities are almost endless.

      This is one of the things that I find really inspiring and why I love this video and have subscribed. Even thinking of the guitar in a piano like dynamic as a non-tapper I am very inspired here.

    35 minutes improvising all kind of styles without any hesitation. Improvisation seems to be a second nature for you. So easy and smooth. Perfect timing and most clean playing all the time. Your musicality and skils are ridicilous. So high level. Just keep doing what you are doing, and it`s only matter of time when you will be top youtubers here. Oh, and Strandberg sounds great too😁👍

      @@smilevrsac Agree! But Guthrie Govan and Matteo Mancuso were first "youtube stars". How many of us found them from UA-cam? And look where they are now. I hope that Rick Beato would find these vids. It would be breakthrough.

      @@perttutarvainenp-tunes6924just for saying Guthrie wrotes tons of articles for Total Guitar plus two books and toured hard as sessionman before UA-cam and Matteo's father it's a session guitarist too. But I have to admit UA-cam is a very plus in career. Anyway we talking about peoples who has a great talent and practice a lot (Tory is in the party!). W Music and guitar!... And UA-cam.

    First of all, I love your sense of humor and it keeps things interesting for those of us that just love to listen to music and watch videos, but aren't heavy into music theory or the technical aspect of guitars. But this review is great like how you didn't get into all the mind numbing specs but just played the guitar showing the different pickup sounds. Thank you for that and can't wait to see more videos with this guitar.

    The reviews on this channel are real gems 👏 The guitar has an even volume along the entire length of the neck. It also has good sustain. However I think it takes about a month to get the best sound, time to get acquainted with all the nuances of the instrument :)

      It seemed appropriate and more entertaining than my endless gushing... But in all seriousness, this is a great instrument for a variety of different applications. I know a lot of people tend to just play metal music with strandbergs, but that's kind of gauche....imo, and somewhat limited in scope, they're capable of so much more than just playing some low chugging or the typical noodlely lead stuff, do that one sweet picking lick and then add the tap at the top and come back down etc. Ugghhh.....

    These new Essentials look pretty unbeatable for $1000. They're so light and ergonomic, and at least based on the youtube videos I've watched the pickups sound really good as well. In fact I think I would prefer a hardtail and straight frets over the fanned frets and possibly tremolos in Strandberg's more expensive guitars. Great playing as always.

    like, only a few dozen were squashed via tennis shoe but hey, that's what happens when you get famous! That low triad really did sound like a piano. lots of sustain but it had a midrange bark in there that made it sound really cool. 9:29 I have noticed in many ad lib jams of yours that sometimes... you go BEYOND the downbeat with your solo and then hit the chord on say 2 instead of 1. That's a pretty sneaky? way to keep your time going and your chord going in case you do go over the bar length and into the next bar. Or you will do 1.5 instead of 2. The and of 1, iow. I can comprehend MOST of what you are doing but I can't do it! hahha I know more than I can do on the fretboard but then I spent my time playing rock and metal and so on. It's cool to see you play jazzy stuff but otherwise I never get to moved by much of it. Very nice tones and very amazing playing as always!!

I see what they did to the Bridge, they offset the intonation ajustment allen, it used to be right under the string, now it is just to the side of it, much better, I had to move one of mine on the old style, it was not to bad but this new one would be better. It's perfectly balanced. I usually just put the synth pick up on the extended upper back bout area. You kind of have to put a piece of tape over the volume and switch so that you don't accidentally hit it with your arm, but aside from that there's space

    Do you like this better than the Salen? You talked about the carbon fiber neck on the Salen, the boden doesn't have this. Is there a big differences in the necks

    • @TorySlusher
      @TorySlusher  24 дні тому +1

      I definitely prefer the straight scale, to be honest. But yes, the carbon fiber in the other one had a very solid like quality to it, very solid. I would really enjoy it if they started making the carbon fiber with a straight scale as an option. I guess that might happen in the future if the company gets bigger and bigger.... But I can't speak for anyone on their end. You probably wouldn't even notice the difference with the multi-scale, but I definitely do because it makes the frets a bit tinier when it's up higher, which kind of throws some stuff off for the two-handed polyphonic playing. You can get used to it, but I just like having a 25 and a half inch scale all the way in every direction.

    • @huntersmall6162
      @huntersmall6162 24 дні тому

      @TorySlusher witch one is your favorite? I've never played a strandberg. I've read that some people that get one get rid of them because of the fan frets. When you push down on the chords with your left hand is it the same in both guitars or is one easier? I have one on hold right now with sweet water but I was wanting to get your opinion on it. I play on a ibanez az at the moment. Your input is greatly appreciated.

I like the Butterschoch blond single coil....maybe if you put fish on it... little fish.... and lighter strings too... I recently bought a bass ( jack Casady 4 string Epiphone ) and it is so nice, rich deep bass. I have a roland GK 3 pickup and play bass on some tracks of my stuff... anyway one really needs a real bass to record with. also I met this jazz guy who told me about a guy who has his own brand bass and anyway Robert Conti is his name... I want to get into trying to work on jazz style playing... I got a lot to learn... might even get a Conti. ok then nice video you have... I went to the Strandberg site, and for the String Action at the 19th fret, it states "In playing position, check the string height at the 19th fret, measuring from the top of the fret to the bottom of the string", and then lists "1-E: 1 mm" and "6-E: 1.50 mm". If someone wanted to study and learn everything you've done just to this early stage of your life they'd have to spend decades and would never get to your level. To me polytonal shredding has a limited application, but it's the thought process behind it, the theory, the nuts and bolts of what to play, that are fascinating and applicable to other instruments. All those switch positions are so different and it seems to be perfectly intonated. I have a cheap Chinese Strandberg knock-off 7 string guitar. I like it but it’s not in the same league.

    Should i buy a black one off ebay or wait to buy the blue one (or a black one) from the strandberg site? Did you buy yours direct?

      I have no idea about the options, I got mine from the company. I guess it depends on whether or not you really want to play it sooner or later. I imagine the black sort of goes with everything, fashion wise, so there's that....

    do u feel like it’s a guitar you’d ever switch out the pickups on? if you change the stock pickups, does it mess with those configurations you can do?

      I thought maybe that I would, but now after playing it.... No way.... They're actually pretty great, not at all a cheap solution... They have a very versatile kind of response and sound. It's not heavy-handed or anything, it seems like it's right in the middle between vintage kind of response and output and a more modern thing....

      I don't care if he does or doesn't... Hoping to the tower bridge but I will say after much thought, I think he's definitely vastly overrated.
