why do people cut their bangs at the SCALP and then look surprised that it’s BAD-

Because they their head isn't straight, they look down and cut it
I got My bangs done and my mom cut it below my nose, then kept cutting, you have to be very careful. They turned out pretty good

It sometimes baffles me that people dont know how to cut bangs. Like, yeah its not gonna loon perfect if you do it yourself mosz of the time, but what do these people think?

Or people who bleach their already bleached hair. Of course your hair is breaking off or fried after that
I've been cutting my own bangs for months now. It started with my boyfriend cutting for me, then I've decided to do it myself, and it works fine. I do it 1 centimeter at a time (no hurry, better safe than sorry), always with my hair dry (So I can see the real length) and use a comb to hold the hair (pulling with your hand is a very bad idea).
Its times like this that I am thankful for being a Coward.
Why would you leave the house with a head full of bleach... the only reason would be that you don’t have any water and have to go someone else’s house or something like that. Bleach is crazy.

I've been cutting my own hair because I'm petty and don't want to go to the only salon in the area that let me go because of covid.
When I’m at a hair salon I always give myself a max of 2 times to ask them to cut it shorter and once I run out of those times, I just say “yeah it’s fine, it’s great, exactly what I wanted-“ and then I cry internally because I’m too self conscious to actually ask them for what I’m looking for-

I have cut my own hair before, but surprisingly it didn't come out that bad. My mom did have to even the back a little, but I was pretty happy with it. The best part about that is the hairdresser I see now was like "babe, I've bleached and colored my own hair, but I have NEVER cut my own hair" 😂

Hi! So I know you really like reading, so I want to recommend some books to you :) There’s this series called the Rosewood Chronicles by Connie Glynn. It’s about a girl named Lottie who met someone at her school that just so happens to be a princess lol. So her friend is a princess, but she wants to be ordinary, so she asks Lottie to pretend to be a princess for her so she can live a normal life. Idk if you’re into that kind of stuff or if you’ll even read this, but I really love this series and I thought you might appreciate some recommendations:)

4:47 that’s what I did 😭 now I have curtain bangs that come down to my shoulders that cover what I cut, what I cut are now whispes at mid forehead length. My original curtain bangs were mid forehead, and they’ve grown out in the past two years. I regret this sooo much

It stresses me out so much when I see people cut their own hair. I did something similar a few years ago though. I got tired of having long hair so I just gathered it in a ponytail and cut and it wound up going up diagonally. So I had to go to the hairdresser and have them fix it. It wound up coming out very well and I liked it.
I FELT the failed balayage. I went in to get a balayage, and I told her I didn’t want anything done to my roots, so she completely bleached 4 huge strips of hair to the scalp. Made me pay 150 dollars for it, and said I’d have to come back NINE more times, and pay the same price for each session.
Worse i've done was tried cutting an uneven part of bangs and just made it worse. Its a good thing I wear hats more often then not so I could hide it.
The last couple times I’ve gone to actual salons I’ve told them I wanted my hair cut to just below my shoulder. The last couple times they’ve all cut it to just above my chin. I’ve just started letting my friend cut my hair because while it may not look perfect it’s a lot closer to the length I actually want.

Yep. I cut my hair in my final year in high school because I had a bit if a mental breakdown. That same afternoon I had to be taken to get my head basically shaved.

So, cutting at the root seems to be really common when the person cutting their hair is looking down at the mirror. One of my friends did that and she said it was because it looked like the hair would be longer as she looked at it in the mirror.

These are hilarious, but sad that they actually did this to their own hair, worse is paying someone to ruin your hair. I had way too many bad haircuts at the salon and that is why only my husband is allowed to trim my hair. He loves it long, so he only takes off about an inch off my elbow length hair every couple months. I would definitely not attempt to try to cut my own hair, as I would have to have him fix it afterwards and I would feel like a fool. Some people should not be allowed to touch shears.

Yeah... I've NEVER been to a hair salon. My mom always cut my hair as a kid, and as an adult I do it myself, and I've never had a bad haircut.

I've recently cut my own hair, it was... a experience. Not as bad as most of these people, but definitely not what I wanted. My hair is wavy/curly, and I tried to make a long bob on my own. It looked kinda good... if it wasn't that crooked, BUT on the bright side, like you said, the curls help to hide it, you can only really notice it if I straighten it.

My friend cut her own hair so many times! First she cut her own bangs. Then she cut it short multiple times and then she cut it layered and she looked cute every time! She could be a hair dresser 💇
She also bleached half of it so it was half blonde and half dark brown and again looked friggin cute!

Over quarantine I got sick of my hair so I watched some tutorials and used my moms tiny little nail scissors because we don’t have any hair cutting scissors. It took a long time but it actually turned out really nice, I didn’t do anything too drastic. I probably cut off about 2-3 inches. My dad on the other hand got so sick of his hair that he just shaved it all off.
I literally got in trouble with my mom because I kept screaming at these in reaction. 😂

I have been super lucky with my hair during quarantine because my mom is a professional hairdresser and I’ve gotten free haircuts for all of quarantine
My mom is a cosmotologist and we live together so I didn't worry about quarantine hair. Even if I didn't live near my mom, I would NOT cut my own hair, EVER!

So i cut my own hair (i usually do) but i did the ponytail trick (first time doing it) and i hated it and saw where the shortest hair was and was like "2 inches of my hair has to go" and i went to a new stylist and said I wanted my hair evened up shes like "u know were gonna have to take it up 2 inches then right?" Like making sure i knew what i was asking for and i was like "yea ive been mentally preparing myself for this for weeks" PLOT TWIST: she did an AMAZING job took only 2inches off and i loved it
