Wow, that was such a refreshingly different experience and perview into a listening room. The sound and video quality was excellent. The editing was on point. But the editorial story with the captioning was the real hero. Such a unique perspective and forward thinking step within the audio review space. You just set the bar really high. Very excited about what's to come next. Thank you!

Wow, I've never commented on a UA-cam video in my life, but thank you. Listened on my Hifiman HE4xx's through a Schiit Modi 3 and JDS Labs' Atom headphone amplifier. I like sound, but with 4 kids under 10, I'm not going to be able to indulge in high end audio for a lot of different reasons (money, time, space, curious fingers, etc.). But watching this video was great. Haven't listened to these speakers in person, but your recording sounded great, very full and vibrant. And I loved the production, the brief tour, the vibe of the place that you captured. The graphics added information, but stood to the side while I enjoyed the sound. And the tracks your chose were beautiful. Anyway, I subscribed, and I hope your channel grows and grows. All the best

I thoroughly enjoyed your video work at Stereophile, Jana, but now you have convincingly taken it to a higher level. Finally we have a beautifully conceived and professionally executed video that stands in stark and satisfying contrast to the boring, business as usual talking audio head BS that we're all too used to where 95-100% of the video is the head talking to us. This is truly fine work...Many thanks! Suggestion to JD: Have this video playing in your room at CES. It will definitely augment the uniquely immersive experience that your speakers always provide.

Finally - audio reviews that actually feature audio! Well done! Even if the sound is colored by UA-cam compression and the limitations of our own systems, at least we get to compare the systems you show us, within those limitations. Your recordings sound wonderful and make my HE400i's sing. The recordings also sound fantastic when just listening through my Elac Debuts I'm using as computer speakers. It took a few videos for me to realize that you were not conducting system tests in a busy restaurant, and those ambient sounds were part of the recording.
I look forward to seeing your recording workflow. And I've always wondered what difference different interconnects and speaker cables make, and your format seems perfect for those kinds of comparisons.

Ok after listening to a few of your videos now, I hear similar deficiencies in stereo imaging and midrange resonance which I suspect come from Alfredo the binaural head. I am guessing that stuffing the mics in his rubber ears is affecting the mics freq response and polar response...that and the large wood gap that is its head is affecting the stereo imaging.....a stereo xy mic setup would definitely be worth looking into! I say this as to hopefully steer you in a slightly better direction from an sonic perspective because honestly your current audio capture setup is not sufficient yet ....I hope I'm not coming off like a jerk as I truly want to see you succeed...All the best!

You do well balancing the dry (audio tests with video) with the curios (“wet”, IMO”) that reflect the speaker designers personalities. What u r trying to do is difficult, but you do well. I think your video style serves you for this purpose- clean, organized, good lighting, well-shot, and let the music and visuals speak for themselves.
I love how you show the specs in the video- from wall distance to cartridge or spikes used. Surprised u didn’t measure the thickness of his wool rug! Lol.
It’s dificult to take video further without spoken word. But you’ve made successful the integration of several aspects of audiophilia- not just AV, but “space, personality, acoustic treatments”. Yes, it tells a story, but the story of the audiophile themselves seems to be rather nebulous and rather lurking in the background. I like that kind of approach, it others may want more specifics. What u r doing is challenging without a direct conversation with the subject.
At the same time, this direct method maybe too revealing and lose some of the (intriguing) mystery that u have created around the subject via no direct interview. Of course, I have no answers for u, only explicit feedback that might help give new ideas.
Keep it up, I can envision a series of these (pristine-like) videos that, in addition, would be important for posterity. Particularly the owners/engineers like DeVore, Vinnie Rossie, etc
Then you can sell the series back to Stereophile! 😁
    as, e.g. “The Masters Series”

Capturing the sound of a hi-fi system is not at all easy. I'v been looking for channels that are informative about hi-fi equipment; and or, able to convey the sound. This channel is the best I have found so far for the sound. Though, I'm not a fan of the bi-neural platform being that I'm not a big fan of headphones. Headphones are not as easy to make as a hi-fi system. My goal is to copy boxing enclosures and horns to build a good budget system.

Many speaker companies go out of their way to eliminate baffles and refraction so as to improve imaging and sound staging. DeVore has done the opposite... make the baffles as huge as possible and mount a few small drivers. I wonder who is right and who is wrong.

I would suggest leaving the listening chair in its original position and putting the binaural head on a tripod on the chair at ear height, just as a human listener would. By moving the chair back you’ve changed the acoustics of the room and perhaps the listening experience. One thing I’ve come to understand about this audio endeavor is that it’s the subtleness of difference in sound that is so compelling. Peace!
