Dumbass, mostly the bullied ones are the real doctors, raggers are usually failures, jailed or fake doctors, etc. They get ragged in their college days, but study hard, then get unnecessary accusations but they do their job of saving life's which is not an easy task at all, it's worth more than what they get paid for, that too after studying so hard wasting their early youthful prime age, what type of justice is this??
And then, u comment all this nonsense.
I ain't even a doctor, but I get it by thinking twice. Btw, my parents & some relatives are doctors too.

If the ragging is kept aside for a second, help me understand how did the student actually die? No post-mortem? Did they beat him to death? Or did he have a medical condition? How did he just suddenly collapse and die? Did the medical students take any steps to revive the guy?
I think many things are missing from the story. I realise that ragging needs to stop and for that, we need to bring forth such cases, but doesn't it seem a little off, how things aren't adding up?
Was the death truly because of ragging? Or the college administration trying to hide something more bitter?

I am 18 as well and live in Australia, as an international student. I am very skinny myself, but I can easily stand for 8 hours daily for my job as a cashier. In fact any person can stand for more than 4 hours at such a young age. It is nearly impossible for someone to 'die' while standing. Maybe he passed out and fell unconscious, but there is something hidden behind all of this with an effort to cover up the crime with the obvious scandal of ragging. May justice be served.

Don't be fooled - ragging is not just some random act for the sake of having fun; it is encouraged and sponsored by the rich and powerful to break the inhibitions of young adults early in their life; it's done to break your spirit and your sense of righteousness so that once you give into such demands, you will not have inhibitions breaking other laws as you get older and that will be to the benefit of those whom you work for and those who seek to control you.
It's all about starting the cycle early on for people to start doing wrong things. Such acts will continue because there's a lot of power and money behind to enable the desired behavioural changes.

Ragging is a disturbing reality in the higher education system of our country. Despite the fact that over the years ragging has claimed hundreds of innocent lives and has ruined the careers of thousands of bright students, the practice is still perceived by many as a way of ‘familiarization’ and an ‘initiation into the real world’ for young college-going students.
Inaction and Underreporting by college authorities causes ragging incidents to flourish despite laws against and a violation of human rights.

I have some friends who have been in medical colleges in gujarat. This is a bad reality.
The ragging is so bad that the so-called seniors are in affiliation with lecturers and doctors in these colleges. These seniors will make the freshmen do all their assignments and daily tasks. In return the freshmen will get all required study material at the time of exams, from the conglomerate of seniors and lecturers and doctors. One of my close friends faced this when they were in their first year. They tried standing up to this, but it all was in opposition to them. They did not get any support during exams from seniors, fellow batchmates and faculty as well. They scored less and obviously had to give in to ragging.

As someone who's in a medical college, this is very normal. It's so normalised over here, that there isn't even an anti-ragging cell.
Our seniors have beaten us, made us do all sort of stuff, yet the staff haven't budged an inch despite of all the complaints.
All this happened an year ago, we're seniors now and this toxic cycle continues with us as well.
The bullied have become the bullies.
Ragging is still a nightmarish truth in many areas of India.

I have come to know the whole story by both accused and remaining victims. And they too agreed upon it was just about to help juniors in college. And There’s existing medical conditions with the guy which others weren’t aware of. It was an accident, that happened in a fun activity which none predicted and expected. so don’t tag it as ragging. And don’t associate it with physical and mental trauma. If someone doesn’t let others know about their condition, and feel threatened without any reason. He could have left that introduction, but he didn’t proving he was agree with it. But the rest was unfortunate. My condolences to him !

Though i didnt know much of their prank since i came from rural areas. Atleast we enjoy the first day. And when joined the graduate course there also we enjoy the welcoming stuffs asked by our seniors. When we gone to 2nd year 3rd year we even forgot to welcome our juniors. Suchn was the environment in our college days. These seniors should set a precedent themselves by not avenging to new comers or freshers what they have suffered. Then only will get good students good doctors good engineers good human beings. Last not the least praying for the departed soul. May his soul rest in peace. 🙏😥

Well, I came from a school where ragging is indeed a big problem based on my observation, I find that a big cause of ragging is teachers themselves. I will give an example you see imagine yourselves being a model student. You attend school every day, you work hard, learn everything up to date, score above average marks in every test, you always made your parents and teachers proud and respects them like God. Now you look back and you see a couple of students who rarely attends classes, used to score 0 in every exam they just jerk around in class, making comments about anyone passing by thinking that this is all what coolness means being extremely spoiled brats.
Now you think teachers whom you widely respected will differentiate between good and bad and they will eagerly punish those who deserve it. But for some reason your teacher won't punish them instead for some reason they praise them they started singing praises of them, joking around with them, further spoiling them. Imagine you are a victim of ragging you see the one person whom you believe will protect you joking around with the same people who tormented you. Teachers like these bullies a lot. They spoiled them to a huge extend that they think that being bully is cool. One time I saw a teacher talking with a bunch of bullies, these bullies just came from ragging a newly joined batch of juniors. They started giving a descriptive explanation on how they came as a group and humiliated and abused a heavily outnumbered gang of juniors. And these people were literally joking about it in front of the teacher and for some reason the teacher joined in with the laughter making her own comments about how cool ragging is. They all came together and joked about how they tormented a group of kids. There is nothing more disgusting than seeing how corrupted a person whom you widely respected can be. Sometimes these same bullies just slur insults at her, and she just give a dramatic outburst before laughing about it later. When bullies become absent these teachers act sad like they didn't see their boyfriends or something. Ragging exists because many teachers normalize it and sometimes teaches kids that it is cool to be an absolute jerk. No offense to women or anything but majority of those teachers who normalize it are female teachers.

We need a big change in our education system. Also in some parents. Many people will only care about marks, even if the student lacks any moral compass, any true skill, any discipline, etc.
Moreover, there are many big gaps in the education system that do not enforce proper discipline, along with very bad rules that are often abused or overused.
In my opinion, as these people just keep studying, they never learn things that are seemingly basic to people who aren't so ill-mannered and.. narcissistic. I can't even describe it in any other way. They do not care about others at all and will go to any length just for their own benefit. To feel more _important_ than others.
