2011 Buick Enclave Rack and Pinion replacement yourself and save $$$$$

2011 Buick Enclave Rack and Pinion was starting to affect the way the car was driving. The steering wheel was starting to jerk while making turns and it became dangerous while driving. This process will take you a couple of hours and a lot of patience during the swap but will save you a ton of money from the mechanics shop. This will require you to get an alignment afterword which will run around $100 at most tire shops of your choice.

Very helpful video, also you can check your build code sticker in the glove box to See if it says NV7 or not. Also I read the other comment and your response and Mitchell calls for a 4-4 1/2 hour shop time so for you to get it done in 2-3 hours my hat goes off to ya.

my steering wheel is starting to do the same thing. but since my ABS CAME ON. my steering wheel got a bit stiff and now my steering wheel is jerking. what can I do first to fix my problem?

Torque on rack and pinion mount bolts?? Can't find it anywhere

You say to take those subframe bolts all the way out but later on in the video you still have the bolts in. Also the tie rod ends don't just pop up at least on mine after hitting them.

They just look like they’re in but there just hang in though. The bolts are pretty damn long.

I’m planing on doing this job, so to be precise, did you only lose a little the front frame bolt where motor mount is resting, and completely completely remove the back ones? is this was only for the driver side? I’ve seen people removing the frame bolts on both side left right. Can please verify this.

Btw you don't need to keep your jack under the sub frame.

I kept the drive shaft in and I’d only replace it if your old one is whining a lot

Is this something someone with no automotive experience can do? My Buick Enclave needs the power steering pump and rack and pinion replaced too. The quotes I’ve received are outrageous. Enough to buy another car. The parts themselves I can get both for about $350.
