Thanks Matt! First time I steppe on a set as a paid actor was in 2007 and have been on quite a few since then. And, and as you mention, almost every set is somewhat different. The last one I was on a couple months ago, I had one scene and it was the last day of shooting...so the vibe was a little chilly (justifiably so, as I had not spent 30+ days on the set with other cast and crew.) Really appreciate all the reminders and tips you shared - love the idea of asking for a full-size call sheet! Wishing you and Brooke a happy spring equinox and of course, much success, joy, and fulfillment as we continue our journey into 2023 and beyond.

Good stuff sir! With regard to your "Naked" shoot...to this day one of my biggest bookings was for the feature "GET HARD". Always fun to explain that title. And...I met someone not too long ago who's a script supervisor & she told me the peeps in her profession hate being called "scriptees". Go figure...lol.

Elliott, good to know about the "scripty" thing. All the other disciplines on set have referred to them that way. Never occurred to me that they wouldn't like that. SORRY SCRIPT SUPERVISORS!!!

@@GetTaped I've never heard that scriptys...er..script supervisors...don't like that moniker either. And I've known and rented our apartment to a few. Will have to ask next time.

How does travel pay work in Atl? I'm only familiar with nyc and la

Well, it's complicated. For productions within 500 miles of your home (Atlanta for us), you only get travel pay if you're a "modified" local. And even then, it often has to be negotiated. That is, production may offer housing but not mileage. Sometimes per diem, other times not. I'm not an authority on it, quite frankly, so I don't want to say anything that contradicts the SAG-AFTRA guidelines on the matter. I just know that I refuse to work "Local" in any city other than Atlanta, and I've never lost a booking when asking for travel, lodging, and per diem.
Many actors think they'll lose the job and will pretend to be local to Savannah, Wilmington, Nashville, Charlotte, NOLA, etc. And if it's a one-day booking, but you have to come down 2 days early for a fitting/test, paying for your own gas and hotel will put you in the red for the job.

@@GetTaped wow, the most I traveled was 80 miles.
