That's Google for you. Unless they give a specific date the features they announce at their keynotes are either delayed by months, get repackaged as another app the following year or never see the light of day.
Also, isn't this like their 3rd or 4th iteration of a wallet app?
It’s funny how they have to assure people that Google themselves isn’t going to look at their wallet data 😂😂😂. Sure
Why different than Apple? 🤭🤭🤭🤭
@@richardscathouse because apple makes money on hardware sales. Google make money on ads. Ads need data to cater better and more valuable ads to you. Therefore apple has a lot to lose if they sell your data compared to google gaining a lot from selling your data.
ugh, if only apple pay is available in my country. Apple should also look into expanding more countries.
True
it’s not the fault of apple
I think it’s the fault of our damn countries
because it costs nothing to a bank to support apple pay.. they just need to support it but they have more important things to do 😩
@@albanos.13 Apple takes a small percentage on the payment though. But yeah, in my country every bank rushes to create their own App and introduce QR code payments which is so annoying and hassle to use, so I don't think Apple Pay will reach here sooner or could be never.
Great. More data to the big companies.
Love my Apple Wallet :) Hope they let us put 20+ cards within Wallet. And maybe a premium Apple Card. :)
I'd be happy with just more merchants offering 3% through Apple Card.
@@hummersd - True. Same tbh. Honestly, they should’ve had more by now.
Why is the new CNET logo so ugly? Did they even bother doing a little testing to see if people even like it?
True, it's really ugly
Good, Im not the only one thinking this. Lol
I wish they would stop considering a random font a logo! Like if there's no actual differences between the text and it's all consistent one font it's not a logo it's just a word even if it's a unique font like even if they just change one letter in the whole word to different font and the rest is better than just typing out your company name in a random font without any stylistic around it.
Don’t you know? We’re back in the 90s!
Apple Wallet is more useful!
Digilocker of India has been digitalising IDs like this since 2+ years
Doggylicker? 🤣🤣🤣
@@richardscathouse No Richard, we're not talking about your Daddy.
Both are very cool! To bad I don’t live in the us
ok? they are both international
Now that's too much power
I love Apple Pay and Apple Credit card, it’s fun seeing your money spending make money lol
So Apple enhances their Wallet with a new payment feature, shipment tracking features and tap-to-pay for merchants. Meanwhile Google has a big s*** grin on their face while they announce features Apple Wallet launched with back in 2014. And the Apple Pay Later feature expands beyond the Wallet as it can be used to make purchases online.
Android fans will typically admonish Apple for claiming to have invented features based on how they present them but if I had no idea about Apple's innovation in the digital wallet space I'd assume Google was in the driver's seat based on how it was presented, with people cheering and the presenter practically screaming features at the crowd like it was never-before-seen technology.
This is so true.
The problem with new Android features is, you'll most probably need to buy the latest Android phone to get them.
Obviously
In some cases yes, but in this case, if your Phone has NFC, your Phone will support the new Google Wallet features.
@@fangmarks don’t they need the latest android update for that?
@@kalisperafilatoi They don't. The last time the NFC Stack in Android had a Changelog-worth update, was in Android 5-ish.
Plus, the majority of Apps are updatable through the Play Store now, so you really only need System Updates for Security and (really deep) System Apps. Google Pay/Wallet is not a System App and gets updated through the Play Store, so just updating the App is enough
Thats not how android apps work. They are independent of os updates
Apple is killing Google when it comes to digital wallet. The features Google announced are things that have been available on Apple Wallet for years.
I've never touched an Apple product. Probably never will.
@@richardscathouse we’re on opposite ends of the spectrum. I have only ever owned Apple products. My first computer was a Mac all the way back in 1992. I have of course used a PC for many years for work and I can confidently say that I loathe Windows. Hate it with a passion. I have also used Android devices extensively, and while I don’t mind Android (especially on higher end devices with the specs to match) it’s still never felt as intuitive to me as iOS does. Plus when you’re in the Apple ecosystem, there are just too many benefits of owning an iPhone vs an Android that switching would make no sense.
Digital wallet Id? If anything, I want big tech to stay out of my wallet.
They have already reached to your heart and blood oxygen. Do you think you can keep them from reaching your wallet?
@@nileshmakwana1810 I don't even buy phones that have fingerprint readers...🐑
when you put your money in the bank, you are part of it already.
unless you store your money in value of a gold bar, you're already part of the "system"
@@MrTheguywiththemoney That limits you to very few phones. Stop being stupidly paranoid
I'll stick to cash... you have enough of our data
Ok boomer

It’s the pixels in the Google screen for me😂
On coming weeks you mean 12months hahaha
So Instead of having your wallet and phone in your pocket, you will have your phone and...a 5000 mAh power bank :joy:
I want Google Wallet more idc about the other feature Apple Wallet offers
I wish I could add my Barnes and Noble card to Apple Wallet.
Apple will soon get huge lawsuits because they prevent competition in this.
Where Samsung pay?
@@glocen yes
It’s in the garbage right now
Samsung Wallet was already announced some months ago
I'm sorry. Apple pay later?? So far fetched lol 😂
Apple is rocking it.
I wonder if the police will be able to get the information in the same way they can pin cellphones with a litter effort and request GPS information from service providers.
In America, I'm sure.
Google wallet’s new features are things that apple has been having.
In my eyes, Apple Wallet and Samsung pay is better than google pay because they kept the same app and improved it rather than killing it and making a new one over and over again. like android pay google pay and now google wallet, it’s just too confusing. On the other hand, Samsung and apple having Samsung pay/Apple Wallet that are just improved on over time is way more simple.
Google Wallet is the same app as Google Pay, just with a rebrand and updated layout.
@@SaintDynamite they shouldn’t be constantly rebranding it though
@@luke.warm.freelance I agree, but I think Google Wallet is a better brand than Google Pay. They are still developing the app and increasing functionality. Samsung Pay also recently rebranded to Samsung Wallet, and Apple Wallet was previously rebranded from Passbook.
The race to hold your money 💰
so u cant even buy yourself a new phone if you r travelling n you lose your phone.
Or worse the TSA grabs it.
Cool but NOW IMAGINE ALL THE DATA APPLE HAS ON U . Fingerprint, location, bank account ID VOICE FACE ETC. technology could be our downfall even tho it seems to be advanced
Google & Apple are quite late Asian wallet apps have been doing these for years now LOL
He says: not even google. Thats because all the rest is shared with google.
I be honest. Ave never seen anywhere where google pay is accepted. I think its in first world countries only. While apple pay is everywhere even on the smallest vegetable shop in my town. While there are more android phones than iphones
I use both a device running Android and an iPhone. Google Pay has never worked for me. Not once using my phone or an Android watch. That’s One of the reasons why if I’m using my phone running Android I always have my Apple Watch on me so I can use Apple Pay.
Cool story girlfriend
USA is 5 years behind India. We already have all of these except Apple Pay Later.
Google wallet > apple wallet
Google wallet sounds like broke and poor.
Perfect for Americans then! Go Brandon
And to both Google and Apple, have you heard that there is a whole world out there, expand these facilities outside of the USA. Example, the UK Gov has been looking to bring Digital Driving licenses on board for some time, but I don´t hear either of you mentioning them. The world is not California. The world is not [North] America.
how much is it? $69.99
All this available in India since few years now
But tbh UPI is not efficient and fast as these
Can foreigners even use UPI? Would be easier for those us that visit a lot to just have apply pay access tbh
@@bhavanishankar9095 From what angle? UPI even works without Internet. And its a standard, not an app. Apple already supports UPI in app store. They'll also probably integrate it with Apple Pay.
Personally Im an Android fan, but I really love the fact that you can pay from one Iphone to another, or from a Credit/Debit card to an Iphone.
We've had digital driving licenses and IDs for 4 years now, it's amazing.
Where?
Apple Wallet doesnt support my bank😭
Only the too big to jail banks. I wonder if they'll be around in ten years?
@@richardscathouse they have Google pay but not Apple pay bc they made their own. Its weird beacuse every other bank in the country has it and its like the biggest bank
Apple is actually making something open for cross use? Wow
They do this with like every feature in WWDC
These apps isn’t even available in my region so they’re pretty useless
Why did you watch?
Apple wallet is untouchable right now
lol ok
He leaves his home without his keys?
Apple wallet better than Google wallet
Totally agree :)
Google Wallet is simple Apple Wallet is to complicated
Hahah google fans looks like apes made fire for first time hahaha
Apple: **breath**
Google: WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN!
You do realise google io took place BEFORE wwdc right ?
@@pranavyedlapalli2127 I did not know that, my bad.
The real issue is getting people & merchants not familiar with technology to trust digital IDs and more in the Wallet apps. Apple is more trusted and has a more recognizable interface, so they are winning over consumer trust… Google, I don’t know. I occasionally still get turned away from certain merchants when I show my ID in Apple wallet.
Wallet is to Apple what Maps is to Google, in adoption.
Apple Is Way BETTER
the colour of google wallet ... wtf
Actually laughed out loud at google wallet reveal
I don't even give them my fingerprint, i'm definitely not giving them my ID credit card, etc
Apple wallet isn’t new

So typical, Google couldn't even think up their own name and logo :)
Yep and they probably scrap the whole thing
google is not a compant that waste time on useless stuff
Both doesn’t come close to UPI
Go sleep on the pavement
Ma late samsung already did this lol 😆 as always apple late for everything scamming there poor apple heads lol 😆
what are you talking about?
Lol makes me laugh how Americans are not yet adopting UPI that india has done seemlessly
They are behind on lots of stuff but convince themselves they are the best. Something like UPI will never happen there as they are too paranoid about their own government.
We like our toilets too. And not sleeping on the pavement, for generations 😰😈🙄🤭
