I was lucky until one of them developed the permanently on '0' key problem even though the key travel is fine 😔. Not sure I'm game enough to open it to try and fix it (or possibly destroy it/make it worse) 🤔
@@CalculatorClique You probably already know, but: 1- the calculator will most likely work if you press lightly on the top left part of the keyboard, say above the second function key, and 2- I've heard good things about adam jones / mainely calculators WRT fixing these.
Thank you - it was the first thing I tried but mine appears to have a different issue. I have seen others report the same thing where the '0' key is permanently on even though it has normal travel and click. Might by lint. It's in excellent condition otherwise. I do have a few Pioneer models with exactly the problem you mentioned but I haven't been game to break the rivets and pull these apart yet.
I'd LOVE to get a Linux-based HP-48 emulator directly available in pre-installed "Live CD" form! Mine's still in good working order and it will be missed when it dies, eventually, even if it's only to use it well below its true capacity.
Interesting. x48 runs on all platforms and you can use alongside your day to day applications (eg for work etc). I worry about how long mine will last - they are not easy to open or repair (well, not for me) and one I have already has 2 failing keys making it basically unusable 😔
Two 48GXs with black LCDs, you lucky dog!!!!
