The white enduro battery will solve half of your problems because it has longer battery life and is better in the cold, you can always just quickly swap GoPro batterys for more run time as you mentioned you have two and if you want you can turn on auto turn off/shut off if you are worry about forgetting to turn it off (it is not that hard to remember to turn it off anyway), of course It doesn’t turn off automatically when close the GoPro app because it isn’t programmed to do so anyway it would still think you wanted to use it so that is why it stays on
I got the 11. and before that I had the 7. I hate that I cannot preview while I'm recording. Other than that it does what is intended to do. Works best in sunyy weather. I wanna do videocalls and share my screen. I know the 12 reintroduced the feature. But I heard good things about the insta360 ace pro. It's gonna be hard decision to make insta360 or gopro 13.
I would have to see. In bright sunlight the gopro has the best color science I've ever seen on a camera. Also I got so used the the quick app and been using gopros for the last 3 years. What makes me look to the 360 is the larger sensor, low light capabilities and leica look. I'll have to wait till Fall of this year. I've heard gopro will make some big changes also. set shutoff in menu if you cant remember lol.. preferences -- general -- auto power off.. seems like YOU bought the wrong camera that doesn't match your tech expertise or needs
Gopro is not a good product, i have the 7 before brand new and there are a lot of problems same as yours. Freezing, cannot turn off, sound is muffled after filming under water, battery life, getting too hot after a few minutes.
Gopro 10 is much worse. Thing corrupts / does not record files, and fills sd card with annoying LVR and THM files. Thing gets very hot and very short battery life. KEEP YOUR RECEIPT, if you purchase that garbage product, which constantly restarts itself. Returned to store, very next day.

Get a hero 12 I have never dreamd of a better camera
dji action 4 cam is way better
You have to use GP10 with White battery ( enduro battery ) then 1/2 of your problem will be gone.
