Oh man. I wish Halstead would have had the opportunity to mentor Torres. I admit, this dynamic would have been epic given more time.
Torres is streetwise and knows the ins and outs of things.
He may bring an edge to intelligence that we never thought we needed.

@Claire-Louise this show was so great and in my opinion it went down hill 1st Erin then AL then Antonio now Jay Damm I like Upton a little in the beginning because she was like Voit to the grave but that marriage with Jay was stupid anyway enjoy season 10 next week I hope it's good

Bull Crap. He accused his recruit without learning the full story. Voight never would have done that to his new recruit. No sensible leader would jump the gun like that watch the show for once and pay attention.

You talk like Torres was squeaky clean, gave no reason whatsoever to doubt him and bad Halstead was suspicious of him for no reason...it's like you're watching a different show...Like it or not, but Jay did everything right in these circumstances, he had all the reasons to be suspicious of Torres because his behavior was completely wrong in terms of PPO, even though I understand his reasoning, but Jay isn't a mind reader and if someone lies though their teeth and behaving suspiciously you have to ask yourself the right questions as Jay did. Because he had a task to investigate Torres and come to the conclusion of was he a snitch or not (by Voight as well) and when Jay learned the whole truth he rightfully pass Torres for a cop in his report, as his FTO. If you hate Jay because he's now at the same weight as Voight on the show it's your problem.

What a great scene! These two have great chemistry -- and some of their interactions in this episode were low-key hilarious! So glad that this actor will be joining the cast for the upcoming new season. He will add his own special flavor to the Intelligence Unit.

I can not wait for September 21st , it feels like we are getting back to gritty stuff from the first couple seasons that made me fall in love , I’m interested to see if voight will put him under jay’s wing. Could definitely see him rolling with Ruzek and giving us that Al and Voight vibes.

@Claire-Louise I was at first because she stuck to her guns she used to be disciplined and reserved but somewhere along the way she became an impudent entitled hothead like her overrated husband. Voight, Atwater and maybe Burgess are the only characters I even bother to care for anymore.
@Claire-Louise Anyways I hope they write him off with being killed in the line of duty. Partly to shut the shippers up but Halstead has never been a team player he’s always been haughty always thought he was better than everyone always being judgemental always breaking rules and protocols when it suited him and yet condemning others who do the same this thing of him ‘protecting’ Voight from the feds was only to protect Upton nothing more and he knew if he sold out Voight the unit would only see him as a rat. Him giving his life for someone would actually be a proper way to send him off. As for Uptight she’ll probably move on to another unit member she already slept with Ruzek so either she’ll either move on to Atwater or Torres. I wouldn’t be surprised if Uptight was revealed to be bi and had a hook up with Burgess just for another notch in her belt.

I feel like when jay said you want to hit you it came from a place of racial profiling. Like I can see Jay thinking oh here’s this Hispanic male who’s agitated(rightfully so in my opinion) so of course he wants to hit me. Also I’d tell Jay the only one with a problem here is you so why don’t you go home and get yourself together.

I hate Halstead I hate his smugness I hate his holier than thou behavior and I hate his sanctimonious hypocrisy. With Torres joining the new season I hope he keeps calling out Halstead for his crap. The funny thing is Halstead was wrong in the end Torres was not a police department spy like he suspected and when all was said and done when Torres said he kept this secret because he didn’t want it revealed he lives in a ghetto neighborhood because he can’t afford to live in an uptown neighborhood when he said he beat hist step father for abusing him and his mother when the police didn’t help the numerous times he called Halstead never even apologized or admitted he was wrong to accuse Torres instead he pretended to be Torres’s friend. Torres was right to tell him off in the end of the episode.

Have you even watched every episode of this show cause all you seem to do is hate on Jay. Marcus West's death is not Jay's fault the Captain at the time made them used underdeveloped and faulty face recognition and the result was the face of Marcus. Torres lied on his application so Jay had a right to be suspect and he was also put in charge of him so if Torres got in trouble it would have had blowback on Jay. Yes, Jay does have a holier than thou attitude and that is his right, he is the cleanest cop there probably other than Kim. Plus Jay is the reason Voight is probably not back in prison he is a team player and Torres was putting that team in danger.

Don't think so, Halstead has years of military training and combat experience. No way Torres would take him so easily, if at all.
And i don't think Jay was completely wrong. So he gave Torres time to get his act together, and try again tomorrow.
How was Jay wrong if Torres lied and if Torres really was the leak everything would have blew back on Jay, Jay was in the right to make sure Torres was clean.
@@AcidRain1981jay was too busy trying to act like Voight many times. He’s made bad decisions through this time on the show, impulse ones at that. He spoke about trust , then completely went against it by following Torres and accusing him of leaking information.
