  • If you’re a messy garage guy like me. So for me, nothing can seriously help me with the cleaning task except a reliable vacuum cleaner. And fortunately, I have 2 vacuum cleaners - karcher wd 3 and a Dyson designed for home use. These two brands are renowned for their powerful sucking powers which make them a bit more expensive than other popular brands.
However, my Dyson vacuum is not as reliable in terms of sucking heavy and large stuff as my karcher wd 3 easily does. So when it comes to sucking up lumps of dirt, plastics, nails, nuts, bolts, metal shavings and other stuff that you ordinarily see in a garage, my karcher wd 3 is one tool I can rely on.
To show you how powerful my Karcher is, I did a shop vac test which this video is all about. And as you can see, proves that this unit is a type of an industrial vacuum cleaner and therefore also best used for sucking up heavy objects that the garages usually are littered with. Yet, there are also the pros and cons . For its positive features, first, it has a strong sucking power. Two, it also has the pushing air power in case it chokes with large objects. Three, it is designed for wet and dry vacuuming, and lastly, it has a very large dirt capacity.
However, I can see that the cons of this vacuum which you’ll see on my shop vac test are that its dirtbag tends to get punctured easily in the event of sucking sharp and pointed objects and that renders the bag useless. Also, the replaceable bags are also not cheap. That's why I thought of how this industrial vacuum cleaner can be cheaper to run without the bags.
So if I want to save money not using the bags, the shop vac test I did was removing the bag and seeing what happens. Unfortunately, the air filter gets clumped by dirt. So the next thing I did was to think about how to protect the filter and this is where the use of an old stocking came about.
I cut the foot part of the stocking the same length as the filter and wrapped it around the filter to block out the dirt. The result was amazing. All the dirt got trapped in the stocking so no more problems in cleaning up the filter. Now I can vacuum without the bag and can even vacuum dirty water with this industrial vacuum cleaner. So simply, these are the pros and cons of Karcher WD 3.
Yet, my Karcher is an older model. There are now the newer versions such as the Karcher WD5, Karcher WD6 P and Karcher WD4 premium. How do they differ from each? It’s their air suction capacities, container capacity, available accessories, filtering type and qualities, and dimensions. So the higher the versions, the more advantages you can get from it.

put bit of water inside before you vacuum. the water will get dirty but dust won’t stuck at the filter much. when finish just dump the dirty water.

Loved your video. Your amazing. I would love to see how you reuse the bags. I just given a WP6 that use to be in a workshop. Used once before the owner passed away. I’m just going to use it as inside vac. I love cheap ideas.

If you put a plastic bag inside, the vacuum cleaner won't suck as the air won't be able to go through the bag and come out through the other end.
      Maybe I've misunderstood you?
