Thanks. Lived in Toronto all my life.
I ve been using the TTC since 1976.
a few of the pics were of busses in the city of Hamilton, about 50 miles away from hogtown
the good old days of my twenties and thirties...thanks for the memories..
A trip down memory lane! Can anyone identify the view at 4:38? Bay Street?
A streetcar is desired
🤣👍
Those black, white and red street cars were state-of-the-art transportation in the 80s. Toronto in those days held endless possibilities for Canadians coming from small towns. I almost forgot about all the overhead cables for the buses and streetcars. Oddly the streetcars were deemed as 'heavy-rail' something the radical leftist successive Toronto gov'ts moved away from by the 2010s.
Street cars, buses and more buses........haha loved the old ways and days. Thanks YTT.

Funny thing, while most city streetcar systems went the way of the dinosaurs, Toronto still has them, albeit on a smaller scale than in the past. But beyond the nostalgia and cool historic vibe, I can't imagine that they are very cost-effective.
Very smart! I still remember the old trolley buses here in Winnipeg which made a lot of sense. I wish we had streetcars. Oh, and a subway would be nice, too. 🤣
Streetcars carry a lot more people and are better suited to the narrower downtown streets, but why does it take so long to replace the infrastructure????
