    Good video. Top rated seller on eBay. I made $13,000 last year selling low end raw cards and a few used video game systems. Your setup is just like mine it’s nuts. Great job 👍🏼

    Ty for posting...I’ve listed a little over 200 cards on eBay now. What percentage of sales do you usually get lately? I’ve seen that maybe 1% is average but it seems you blow that stat out of the water and congrats for that! 👍🏽 I want to do this full time when I retire in about 8-10 years from now. It’s fun 🤩

    • @JoshUnboxed824

      Hi Julio, so far I have about 900 cards listed on eBay right now. I list 20 cards a day and have been doing that for the past month and a half. So far for the month of August I have sold 134 cards. So if you take the number of cards sold this month (134) and divide that by the number of cards I've listed so far (20 x 11 = 220) then the percentage is 61%. In terms of sales conversion percentage (which is the sales rate per page view), then the percentage is 4.9% for this month. I've been selling about 8 to 10 cards on average this month with the occasional large days in which a repeat buyer buys 20 or so cards from me.
      I also plan on doing this full time when I get older because like you said, its a lot of fun.
      Thanks for the comment!

      Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate you saying that. Just remember that it does take work to keep it moving. There will be days in which sales will be slow, but staying consistent will help. But you also have to have a nice mix of quality items that will sell and those that will take some time to sell. For me, having that balance helps as there will be days that some cards just won't move. Good luck and just keep moving forward!

    Hey Josh, love these Vids. like this! Where do you find your inventory to sell, is it mostly out of Dollar Boxes or do you buy bulk deals off people selling? Do you buy off FB Marketplace? Thanks!

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks John! When I source for inventory, my main area is through card shows, local LCS (Burbank Sportscards) and on occasion eBay. Most of the time I go through dollar boxes and just buy in bulk lots from dealers as they tend to give you a bit of discount when you buy in bulk. Sometimes I just put cards into the pile, even some that won't sell right away just so I can bring down my cost basis per card. I haven't tried FB Marketplace yet though, but might take a look at it.

      Thanks, Anthony! I sell using BINs, I haven't really used auctions in a very long time. Sometimes cards tend to stay stagnant in the store though - at that point I consider lowering the price. Haven't really thought about doing auctions - I may just list in lots with a BIN instead.

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  2 роки тому

      Thanks Matt! Unfortunately, I did not track those hours. But if I had to estimate, I usually spend about 3 to 4 hours buying cards a week. Listing, selling and packing I would lump together as roughly about 2 hours a day. The one that I do is create a draft bank to have listings ready to list daily. I don't try to list everything at once, but do so little by little each day - maybe about 10-15 listings per day to create a level of consistency for eBay's algorithm. So total number of hours spent a week would be about 20 hours give or take 2 hours more or 2 hours less.

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  2 роки тому

      Hi Hamilton, thank you for subscribing. I would say to start out slow and list everyday, then slowly work your way up. I started selling lower end sports cards in October of last year (previous to that I sold graded cards and video games). I started off by listing 3 cards a day as I didn't have a lot of inventory. Then I would take the profits to buy more inventory and started listing a little bit more each month. I went from 3 a day to 5 day to 7 a day, to 10, etc, etc. I now list 20 cards a day. It was a slow process, but the consistency has really helped me with eBay's algorithm. Hope this helps!

Once you get to a point where you can bid on higher end more liquid items, I would get something like a silver Prizm Trey Lance rookie for under 175$ and flip for 300$ during the season. • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  2 роки тому

      I top load everything. Sure it's an additional cost for supplies, but the way I justify it is that helps provide slightly more protection rather than shipping the card without a top loader. It comes down to providing good customer service so that buyers can continually come back to your store to buy more cards from you. The number of repeat buyers is an important aspect in my opinion. It's about establishing a customer base and building loyal customers.

      I think you are on point with being able to do more, but it depends on how much time you want to invest in it. Those who do this full time can totally attest to this. Doing more opens up the possibility of landing more sales, but it also takes up time especially if you are a 1 man operation like you and I. Thanks for the comment, Mark!

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  2 роки тому

      Hi James, I place them as buy it nows. I try to price them competitively based on the current market and recent comps. Sometimes when looking at current listing prices you'll see cards that are all priced around the same point, but they actually have been staying there for months. That usually tells me that the price is too high, so when I list my cards, I list them for lower than that and hopefully try and get a sale from that.
      I try my best to price my cards reasonably and will sometimes lower the price if my cards have been sitting for quite some time.
      You may also try listing in lots via auctions. They might not get the most bang for your buck and sometimes they will sell for less than what you would hope for, but hopefully you will get a sale from it.

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  Рік тому

      If it's a big order such as 10 cards, then I will have to ship it out first class which is around $4. You can probably ship in a standard envelope, but you would need a longer envelope. It can fit 2 card savers in there and you can put 5 cards in each card saver. But if the cards are thicker, then you will most likely have to ship it out first class. At this point, it's probably safer to ship it out first class.

      I mainly use PWE to ship my cards - $0.53 to ship 1oz, $0.73 for 2oz and $0.93 for 3oz. I used to charge $0.91 for shipping which I think is a fairly reasonable price. I've seen many people also charge $1.00 for shipping. Most times it covers the cost of shipping and the final value fee ($0.30). I recently made the switch to free shipping to see if that can generate more sales and have more people buy in bulk. Which helped in this video with those 2 days of large orders. But I think you can't go wrong with charging $0.93 to $1.00, you just have to price your cards reasonably.

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  Рік тому +2

      It's true that sometimes you will end up taking losses on some sales by providing free shipping. The one thing that I tend to focus on is at what price am I getting the cards at. Most times if I am able to get cards for less than $0.80 per card I can still make some profit even it's a few cents. My hope is to entice buyers to buy more than one card from me with the free shipping. I find that offering free shipping helps make it easier for buyers to buy multiple cards at once and that in turn helps you save on shipping costs and fees. Just the other day I had one buyer buy 19 cards from me and even though some sold for $1.50, I was still able to turn a profit on that entire transaction.
      I started off by charging for shipping, then as the sales started to become more consistent and I started to make sales everyday, I decided to change to free shipping in hopes of increase bulk sales. You're not going to always make a profit, but my thought is to sell in volume to offset those times when I take a loss. So far, I've been on the positive each month.

    Is there any like quick method of how you price your cards?

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  2 роки тому +1

      The way I price my cards is just by checking recent comps and then taking an average. I also look to see what others have the card listed to see at what price seems fair. I do wish I had a quicker way to price out my cards. I just want to make sure to price competitively while also taking into account how much I got the card for.

    any thoughts from anybody on fastest way to list many singles. also do you you use auction or buy it now? starting prices, auction duration, or any other info would be appreciated. THX!

      There was a viewer in one of other videos who mentioned using a duplex scanner and a software called Kronocard to list a large amount of cards very quickly. I have not used it personally, but there is a video here on UA-cam from Apex Cards who shows how he uses these tools to list quickly.
      In regards to your question about auction or buy it now - I only use Buy It Now with a set price. I did auctions about a year ago, but moved away from that and went exclusively with BINs.

    How many zero insertion fee listings do you get per month?

    • @Latinochino
      @Latinochino 2 роки тому +3

      I think everyone gets 250 per month? Then again I am a top seller but I think is universal of any eBay seller.

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  2 роки тому +1

      For my basic store subscription, I get 1,000 fixed price listings a month. Plus I also get 10,000 additional fixed price listings a month. For auction style listings, I get 250 zero insertion fee listings per month. Then again, I do have a basic ebay store subscription and am a top rated seller, so I am not 100% sure what the basic level will be in terms of zero fee listings.

    Where do you get your inventory value boxes eBay auctions?

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  2 роки тому

      Hi Brandon, a majority of my inventory comes from local card shows from their dollar/value boxes. I occasionally buy some lots from eBay, but I always try to take into account the cost of shipping and tax to determine the average price per card from the lot. Sometimes you can find some really good lots on eBay especially on auctions vs buy it nows.

    How do you set up a store on ebay

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  Рік тому

      You necessarily don't need to set up an actual ebay store. I would only recommend opening one if you plan on listing a lot of cards. The way to do so is to sign up for a store subscription on your ebay account under the selling dashboard.

      A lot of my card sales fall within the $2 to $10 range. It's not much profit and requires a lot of work, but I believe that selling in volume will add up over time.

    What's your average cost of shipping for one month???

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  Рік тому +1

      For the month of Feb 2023, my shipping costs (for the shipping label) averaged around $0.40 per card. I sold 493 cards in the month of Feb and there were many muliple card orders in which I shipped those cards into one package.
      For Jan 2023, I averaged around the same. Sold 556 cards in Jan and much like Feb, I had a lot of multi-card orders.
      Mind you, this is just for the cost of the shipping label.

    What did you net?

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  Рік тому +1

      I ended up netting $110. I know it's not much and for many it may not seem worth it for the amount of work that needs to be done. But I really do enjoy doing this and I've actually been doing a better these days. Still may not be worth the time to some, but that $110 has helped me add some nice cards to my collection. I just love selling low end cards, lol.

    Isn't comc easier?

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  2 роки тому

      COMC can be easier as it takes out all the labor of listing and shipping the cards. But for me it's a labor of love. I love handling the cards and being able to go through them from time to time. Plus I haven't considered using COMC yet. But I will probably cross that bridge someday.

    How can u post if eBay only lets you post up to u sell $700 a month that's not many cards

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  Рік тому

      I believe that is when you don't have an eBay store. I run an eBay store that doesn't give me those limits. I think for those who don't have an eBay store and is barely setting up as new seller, there may be some restrictions at first. But as you make more sales and deliver on your customer service levels, then I believe eBay will start to increase that limit.

    Thank You I’ve unfortunately have spent my whole savings of $3000.00 in the past 9 months on just buying hanger,blaster,mega boxes of mostly baseball cards but some basketball and some football cards I live month to month on disability know I’m trying to sell the cards I’ve accumulated from those various boxes I’ve bought I’m gonna try to sell these cards I’ve put in penny sleeves then top loader them so I’m hoping to maybe get a 1/4 of what I’ve spent. Any tips or suggestions I’d deeply appreciate any help I’ve been thinking about reaching out to some UA-camrs that collects that don’t live to far to try to sell all of them it’s about 500 cards including about 50 graded card cards. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

    • @JoshUnboxed824
      @JoshUnboxed824  2 роки тому +2

      Thank you Shawn. Buying hangers, blasters and mega boxes can be fun to open, but risky as well, especially if you are looking to make money off those rips. I feel that buying singles will net the most return over buying boxes as you need to get lucky to get that big hit with boxes. But with singles, you can focus on buying particular players and sets that you think will sell well. It's tough, it's a grind and it's also a learning process. When I first started out I bought a lot of cards that didn't sell well, but that just made focus more on the ones that will when I would go looking for cards.
      There are people who will buy entire collections, it may be worth reaching out to a few of them. Thanks for comment!

      @@JoshUnboxed824 ya was considering a fellow UA-camr but I’d have to pay to ship them to him then he takes half. Since I’ve been watching your videos I’ve used a family’s eBay account to list them it’s just hard for me to price them because I’m in an unfamiliar position so I’ve priced them I’m guessing to high so I’m trying to lower the prices just to get rid of them but since I posted them on auction I can’t lower the prices until the auction is over this is a whole situation I’m completely in the dark on. I’d love to sell the whole Shabang to someone it would nice for me to sell all them at once and I’d love to give someone who is going to enjoy them and save them in there collection so I’d sell them to someone at a unbelievable price.

      It’s tough to find someone who I could give a massive deal that’s difficult because it is hard to sell to someone who lives a distance away. It’s extremely difficult to list them on eBay because I’ve got to take pictures then price them I’m not familiar with pricing cards I’ve acquired what you collectors call slabs I got some about 50 I received them in a trade for my old bow with arrows that was locally the next state over on Craigslist

      @@imperfectgamer54 I’m just trying to recuperate partial of my funds I’d love to give someone who would appreciate them a unbelievable deal it’s all most impossible to sell them because of selling to someone that lives states away I was going to have a UA-camr sell them but it would cost me almost 50 dollars to ship them plus the UA-camr takes half of the sale prices. I’m currently going to try to list them on a family members eBay account I’d love to sell the whole thing at once. I’ve got some all stars rookies even a HOF Steve Carlton autograph some really nice cards.

      Definitely not for everyone. It may be a waste of time to some, but I only really do this part time and it’s something I really enjoy doing. At this moment I don’t really plan to make a living off of this or use it replace my normal full time income and enjoy my actual 9-5 job too. But I get it, time is money. Thanks for watching the video!
