That's the power the Field Spell still provides for them. But without the Ishizu Cards, there are more choke points the opponent can hit to stop them. But at the same time, they are now more reliant on other engines (both the Orcust and Horus engines comes to mind) to get going Even so, they're going to get stronger in the "Near" Future. Why? If you were aware of cards reveals for the OCG, you will realize it immediately. But, if not, Lightsworn Support just got revealed for Legacy of Destruction (OCG's first core set for 2024 and TCG's second one for 2024 after Phantom Nightmare)
@@alpha34098 if I remember right the TCG at last banned the mil Ishizu cards preemptively before that lightsworn support made it our way. Probably a good idea tbh just being limited was already risky enough.
Now how long till the community goes "bring back the tearlaments" Not the ishizu shuffles, but tear archetype cards. It seems there is a large fraction of the community that love tear. I don't have a strong opinion but I will get a smirk once the consensus is "bring them back daddy konami." Happy to see you continue to provide a public good through these new format test videos.
Anyone who actually played Tear or at least paid attention to how they played would immediately point out that the most problematic pieces of the deck were the Ishizus, honestly. Everyone who went around saying they hated Tear just hated the Ishizu cards, because Tear on its own isn't more powerful than your average tier 1 deck (maybe a bit of a reach there, but I don't think they're that overbearing on their own). I really miss the days of DangerTear where the deck was just gamba turbo.
@@TWLSparkishizhu mills are fundamentally flawed design when you take into account the fact that tear exists. They turn havnis from a hand trap that can bring out maybe one disruption/negate if they are lucky (which makes it you know just a hand trap) to “draw this card and you can full combo your opponent on their turn when they go first”
This is kinda what I want for Tear, limit Reinohart and then un-limit the main deck mermaids and then limit (unban) Kitkallos to 1, its make play similar to how they were when they were first released and is honestly back to being just a good deck, it sort of gets rid of the KashTear version of the deck which is what I want.
Honestly, just adjust the ratio of other tear cards and unban Kitkallos to 1, like in Master Duel. I'm playing a Tearlament x Icejade Deck, and it is so much fun. The deck is pretty good but also not extremely OP, so I don't see anything wrong with unbanning Kitkallos. You can only mill 5 cards from your own deck instead of potentially 10 cards from both decks (or more). Otherwise, the deck is almost unplayable / way too much of a gamble. Many other decks are way better, even with Kitkallos unbanned. Plus, there's no sketchy stuff like sending Agido from the deck with Herald.
It was proven since the OCG that the Ishizu Cards (to the point that Konami TCG had to destroy the product they originally came from (The EARTH Legendary Duelists) and put the cards in other products to delay their arrival in the TCG for as long as they could were the problem but Konami simply didn't wanted to Ban them at that moment because of MAMA (Product where they shouldn't have been placed since, thematically, the cards never fit in it at all) was still being still being sold because of being released in November 2022 (and the minimum period you're are allowed to sell a TCG product before making Sale Reports before investors (through accountants) is 6 months) so they decided to basically butcher the Tears just like that (terrible mistake if you ask me considering what was in the corner) They could have delayed even longer and put them in Amazing Defenders (and then put the Mikankos in MAMA instead and there was no excuse in not releasing them early since they're already released in the OCG) and that way selling the product to the competitive crowd (which by extension selling even more Purrely and Rescue Ace cards, making them more accesible than they were in reality). But the main issue with these cards would still remain (these cards were so broken that no simple Errata could fix them, they needed a full rework) so doing that would mean that the Butchering of Tears would've still happen if this was the case

Nothing has really changed for Skull Servant ever since the last time they got support. So there's no reason to make a video about them right now. Maybe someday, when Konami decides to unveil new Zombie support cards And yes, I just found out about the new Skull Servant. But still, it's effective, but pretty much circumstantial since you already need to have Skull Servants in the GY in order to get some value out of it
I'm honestly surprised people haven't stopped running Tears after having most of their cards hit and Kitkallos banned.

that is my locals currently, they are just better lightsworn, it was Ishizu's card all around that wrecked their playstyle.
