I understand for the newer fans to love the newer shows but no. The rangers past RPM are all trash and will continue to be so. The formula that once was is gone and they have been trying to replicate it for years now and it’s not working. You want real ranger stories then they are RPM and before. Not anything having to do with samurai or anything super related. Cosmic fury is only going to be good because they are bringing back certain characters that will tie to the main plot and that’s it.

Honestly, all the love for JDF. But Jason was the #1 Red Ranger. He was a true leader, and watched out for his teammates. He even bested Tommy/Green Ranger then broke him from Rita's spell and convinced Tommy to join them.

Jason is the best. He was the OG leader that always stood firm. He hopped out of the Megazord and kicked evil Tommy's ass by himself. He continued to be a great leader after Tommy joined the team officially. Even as a kid, I never undestood why Zordon promoted Tommy to be the leader. There was no explanation or basis for that happening at all. It was all an agenda that actually sent a really stupid message to kids. Having fancier things, being pretty....that qualifies someone to overstep a proven commander. Not hating on Tommy or Jason David Frank. It's just that Power Rangers was pretty wholesome until they strapped the rocket to Tommy's back and made him bigger than the team.

I love Jack. Spent most of his life evading the academy being a Robin Hood figure but is offered the RED RANGER job with no academy training on the spot then ends up being one of the best THEN just quits after the mission is completed to go back to the streets lol.

Tommy needed no guidance during Zeo. He was the menace they all feared hence why they kept on attacking him and only him. The zeo powers were far to powerful for the rangers at the time and he was the best leader they had with billy being second in command.

Here's my top 5:
1. Tyler (Dino Charge and Dino Supercharge) He's a great leader, and the arc of him searching for his dad was cool. He also has one of the coolest catchphrases, "It's about to get wild!"
2. Nick (Mystic Force) He initially starts off as the new kid and the outsider but quickly warms up to the others. Also, the twist that he’s Bowen, Leonbow and Udonna's son, was one of the best twists in Power Rangers history.
3. Wes (Time Force) Just like Nick, he was originally an outsider, but the others warmed up to him. He quickly adjusted to being the red ranger. I also loved his dynamic with Eric and his relationship with Jen, showing that love can last across a thousand years.
4. Jayden (Samurai and Super Samurai) A true example of the traits of a good red ranger. A good leader, always looks out for his teammates, and admits when there are others who can do something better than him. Humility is a good skill. I also love that he refuses to let anyone get hurt for him. His relationship with Deker is kind of like the Samurai equivalent to Nick and Korag in Mystic Force.
5. Troy (Megaforce and Super Megaforce) Troy felt like Jason for a new generation. He was the decisive leader who knew what was the right thing to do and was an overall great guy. He also has one of the best lines I've ever heard, "No matter how small, everything deserves respect." I know most people say Andrew Gray's acting was flat, but I loved him as Troy. 99.9% of his lines are delivered greatly. The only line that wasn't that great was "Dreams are the things we believe in. They’re the goals each of us hope to achieve." The way he says that sounds a little stupid, so that's why he's at the bottom.

Andros legit had to make the hardest choice out of any Red Ranger in killing Zordon to release his light energy.
Zordon isn’t dead and they never claimed as such. All they’ve ever said that he’s going to be gone which he himself also stated. Once and Always proves he’s not dead but rather defragmented sort of speak which is the Zwave. Billy in time can bring him back

Well, maybe Tommy is not the best red ranger but he is tge best power ranger of all time. He was the 6th ranger in Mighty Morphon, then Red one in Zeo, Black Ranger im Dino Thunder and in 1-2 more series. He was like a backbone of power rangers franchise

Wes from Time force was a fantastic ranger. In a different timeline he lost his life fighting along side Eric against the forces of evil after the other 4 rangers were forced to return to their own time by Jen's former fiance, Alex.
They chose to stay and fight. Wes was the one who tricked them and forced them to go back to the future to save their lives.

So we just not gonna acknowledge Carter Grayson? Ya know, the guy who charged a demon by running it over with gus truck, shot a demon point blank in between cargo quadcons with two power blasters (knowing he would blow up too), charged a monster in it's full grown Titan sized form, and attacked the main villains base all by himself to save Ryan and was willing to go to hell to save the world from Hell taking over the world. Yeah no, Carter is literally the GOAT Red Ranger. And this isn't even all of his accomplishments, just some of his best highlights.
I love how this was impressive at a time, and then they just made Jason beat him out by a mile by having him be the only ranger to beat Zedd, and then had Jason become a anti-hero

Although Goldar is a bit of a goof he still can fight well and I respect both Carter and Jason for how they never backed down from demons or monsters that were way more powerful while they weren't morphed. Even if they were scared, they still took it to them.

1. Jack - The character progression and coolness/charm he brings to the Team, becoming a great leader in time and has the best action sequences of the TEAM.
2. Casey - Loved his cameo in Super Megaforce always though he was siiiiiiiiick, his dedication, leadership, acknowledgement of his flaws, the work with his team makes him solid.
3. TJ - Loved him as Turbo Red it fit him like a glove really deserved the role and made it his own.
4. Andros - A Badass and highly competent leader.
5. Troy - Even though he was kind of bland i liked him as a character and leader.

My number 1 pick will always be Carter from Lightspeed rescue. The man is my hero, he symbolizes everything a red ranger is supposed to be. Sets the standard for what peak red ranger traits look like. He’s such a good character that I could see him in his own spinoff show, as just a solo red ranger. I would argue that Jason is better than tommy in terms of leadership, as tommy took time learn how to become a leader as he wasn't a leader until Zeo, however Jason was natural leader from day. In terms of the best power ranger would go to tommy, where as best leader goes to Jason.
