The Butterfly Knife inspect animation was actually done in real life and then recreated in the game, so it doesn't have any "entire blade clipping trough finger" moments, except some clipping when it comes to how the character model holds the knife.

Afaik they sped it up since those fast movements aren’t really possible irl. Don’t take it as fake some dude on the internet told me that it really could just be false. If anybody knows more about that please tell me about it.

the animation for the rgx is actually a combination of 3 butterfly trics in real life and they nailed it i have one in real life and they respected the original moves from the irl one if anyone has one and want to learn the valorant inspect it's a behind the 8 balls in to a index rollover in to a shortstop
tbf, this is most likely due to animation compression, when you animate the object it looks perfectly fine, but when you export it, the keyframes get cleaned up a bit and this is most likely an interpolation error because some keyframes moved or got deleted

Could it be that the gloves from killjoy make the hand model of her bigger thus the clips? Would be interesting to know and i would bet they are designed for the jett model as a reference.
I feel like "UI animation fps limit" should be an option to increase game fps by reducing the quality of the ui animations like I need my enemies' movement at at least 60 fps but I really dont need my hands to be moving at more than 30
O this came up on my recommended, and uh nice video! A possible theory of the stab animations, is to like make sure all the stab animations are in “sync”, what i mean is so that every knife has the same stab period(bit lazy tbh, but the knives they make are like so good)
The knives where it moves to 1 place to another is actually a common animmation as your brain fills out the emmpty spaces you are just overlookiing them lol
If you use vipers ult right before pulling out a knife, it will bug all the knives on valorant but the one I’ve seen bug the most is the butterfly knife it has a weird animation

those clipping are fine actually, i thought you were going to cover terrible clipping like in the CS:GO's deagle. But here it's like milimeters of clipping so, imo, it's completely fine
The ruin and and catrina daggers have different right click animations than other daggers. Since the ruin dagger has a blade on both ends, they had to give it a new animation so the player wouldn't stab themselves during the normal animation. And no, it isn't perfect. It clips a couple times.
The protocol knife is the most buggy thing ever if you mess around with it a bit it does a bunch of weird things where it can get stuck so that when you pull it out it does the animation for dagger then wil just like slowly flow through your hand up and over into the knife form. It's very buggy its kinda funny. It also doesn't have a colored swing on every third hit as well as some other things where it jitters around back and forth in your hand just a really buggy animation it's funny. Animations are meant to be watch at the speed they are in, not meant to be slowed down, kinda obvious don't you think? Pause anime and you get funny shit, cause is just to make the animation more fluid
I was watching Neir Automata animation and they cut off anticipating animation to make it responsive or else the player had to wait for a second or two which gives them the feeling of lag, something this are intentional I guess.

animation has dependency on ping and packet loss,. Yeah this is true, sometimes when i got bad ping, my agent does reload animation to melee weapon. this is not a critique, but, better you show your ping and packet loss during this research.

the combo is done perfectly but it is a little fast for the human hand to keep up because the way the balisong kinda flys at its own speed, i can do the inspect in real life and maybe if i try my hardest to make it fast it is possible to get the speed in the game, just isnt realy realistic
the clipping through in most of these knives is, in most cases, because of the agent's hands. kj has a glove, and that might have not been thought about by the devs, since adjusting the animation for every agent is painful.
you mention some knife skins being thicker than others but ignore some characters have thicker hands than others. KJ has gloves which is where most of the clipping seems to happen, but with someone like phoenix his hands wouldn't have that extra layer of thickness leading to less clips
Ruin is not a dagger, it's a karambit, rightclick is much more closer to a karambit that a dagger, the inspect is a dagger inspect but right click makes it closer to karambit
VAl balisong animations are simply too fast. I own a balisong and I can do a trick almost identical to the animation, and even when I go at my fastest it never comes close to the speed of the VAL one.
The valorant balisong animation is actually based off a real life recording of a balisong, I forgot who but they got some balisong YT creator to do it for them and it's up on UA-cam
