Exactly what I needed, this is thorough. However, I do have a couple of questions as I am looking to do this flotation test in the lab. My first question is can I do a flotation with just the collector (eg. SIBX) without adding any frother. My 2nd question, in the absence of copper sulfide ore can I purchase any pure copper sulfide with known purity and just make a blend with any other material for the flotation in the hope that I would float more or almost all the pure sulfide mineral if my conditions are right. Thank you for the help in advance

Thanks for your kind words. Normally the collector is also a frother, but that depends of the collector and pH. You sure can make a mineral blend for flotation studies. In fact, you will be floating minerals with 100% liberation, which will be very good for fundamental studies. However, this is a synthetic ore and, therefore, be careful with your conclusions when compared with a real ore.
