  • Sinologist and a translator of Chinese language texts into English related to Taoism and Neidan (Internal Alchemy). He is currently affiliated with the International Consortium for Research in the Humanities in Erlangen (Germany). Earlier, he taught at the University of Venice, the Technical University of Berlin, Stanford University, McGill University in Montreal, and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. His research interests are the Taoist views of the human being, the self-cultivation traditions of Taoism (especially meditation and alchemy), and their foundations in early Taoist works. In addition to his academic research, he publishes translations of original Chinese texts on Neidan addressed to a wider audience.

    Prof. Pregadio and his Golden Elixir Press made a huge contribution to the scholarly study of Taoism. This man is a legend!

    I've been reading Prof Pregadio's articles and books for some years now, very glad to have a voice to put with the texts.

    Without doing Daoist practices I experienced petals ( or flowers) falling in the snow. Eventually I found out what this meant. Can you explain this, please?
