    - sustainable
    - add substantial value (more than competition)
    - holistic
    -integrates the firm to be larger than sum of parts
    - translate to specific and powerful actions
    Step 1. Identify organisation unit you are defining the strategy
    Step 2. External environment
    Step 3. Business strategy (What are the ways we compete as a company)
    Step 4. How will people behave if capabilities are executed at ideal level
    Step 5. Define what we need more of and less of
    Step 6. What are major HR practices that help us develop capabilities we need to compete
    Step 7. Translate to actionable plan over reasonable period of time
    Step 8. Measurements
