For sinkers take a steel leader and a soldering material cut the lead slightly shorter then leader put both inside heat shrink .it can be used as a bottom weight or put a hook on bottom and use it as a lure
I made something similar to the cutting board thing years back. Best thing ever for bank fishing. I put a small, rounded notch which makes a good rod prop and on the opposite side I made a vertical notch about 3/4 inch wide and a 1/8 deep. I put a screw there so I could clip my light from harbor freight on it.The bucket acts as a light block to me and helps keep bugs away while lighting up the rod and line perfectly. Only thing else I done different was to add a couple of bungee loops to hold the lid down in case it got knocked over.

Hi Keith. Really enjoy your channel. Have you ever done a DIY for a small boat downrigger mount? Use downriggers a lot up here in the Northeast for lake trout and salmon fishing. Lots of guys have smaller boats, 14 to 18 ft. The gunnel height on small boats are pretty low making it difficult to operate it downrigger safely. There are some pedestal mounts on the market but they're very expensive and they're not really tall enough. I'm thinking something that was adjustable so that you could swing it out away from the boat to spread out your lines a little bit. I made something out of tube aluminum and aluminum plate, but it's fixed and mounted to the rear boat deck above the battery and fuel tank compartment. It works, but there's got to be a better way. I'm guessing you could figure it out!

Find your bucket hacks you were using PVC threaded fittings and an O-ring if you use the gray ones from the electrical department they're not a tapered defeating and you can close them tighter with a better seal
This is the exact reel that I have been looking at for fishing saltwater, but it is so new that there are very few reviews on it. It has all the features for saltwater fishing, plus it looks good as well.

Those fitec nets have been out at least 10 years. Those are the only ones I buy. If you check Walmart or academy they go on clearance sometimes too. It always puts out a perfect circle

I've got one of the ezi throw nets. It gets a circle every time. Here in Queensland the chain nets are pretty common flr catching prawns (shrimp) because it settles on the bottom better to pick up the prawns.

dont like the way the cadt bar needs to be secured, too much strapping down to get in the way etc...i dunno why they just dont drill a hole or 2 thru the stand and the spar and pop a pin or two in...that'd secure that quick smart and no ropes of straps
Aside from those Nocturnal hooks having a deeper hook for bait, that sleeve is a joke. A properly snelled hook will not slip off and over the eye of the hook. I snell my own hooks the proper way, and the slippage is actually needed so that the winds can cinch down properly against each other.

The new cast net system is pretty cool and those fishing hooks are amazing they leave a lot of room for the bait. On regular hooks you have to struggle to leave a decent enough amount of point of the hook to catch the fish, very creative and innovative ideas.
Please do a video about that cast net. If it gets your seal of approval then I will be buying it. I dread throwing my cast nets and I have a few of them. Anyway, I need something that works without having me to be Spiderman to throw it.

No I’m not bud. We had to make molds out of wood to figure out the dimensions for each size. Once we figured that out we had a buddy machine molds for us.

Those hooks are expensive. The package looks like you get around 2 or 3 hooks for 9 dollars. Maybe we’ll off people like paying a lot but some people enjoy the sport even if they work minimum wage jobs. They should get a discount without paying a portion to veteran organizations. My buddy says he has severe ptsd yet he never seen action, he drove a lift truck in a factory for a few years in the military. He gets 100% disability checks and all sorts of veteran program help for that. I’m not willing to donate to those types of program leaches.

Those weights in the tubes have been used in the uk for decades. Call them bouncing bettys or worming controllers.

Mine is QUANS 10W mounted on 30cal ammo box with a 7ah battery runs around 7hours.
