Finally someone that ISN'T wasteful with coal!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone I've played Minecraft with has not given a care about using coal efficiently so it's refreshing to actually see someone else use it efficiently!

It is great to have a detailed "lets play" survival series. It is hard when you start playing minecraft for the first time to know what to do.
I appreciate you saying so. There's a LOT of content out there that moves way too fast for beginners, and sometimes the tutorials aren't "lets play" enough, I agree. :)

I have found that a good hoe is worth having, especially if you decide to farm Nether trees. I plan to eventually have a Netherite hoe with Unbreaking, Fortune, and Mending in on it

You were wondering where to put the campfire: how about under the beehive? (assuming Bedrock is the same as Java for collecting honey without aggravating the bees).

about 7 minutes in and i was screaming MAKE CHARCOAL lol. Loving the more chill style so far. But yeah if you don't have or can't find coal make charcoal with planks + logs in a furnace it's just as good as coal.
I usually make charcoal if I don't find coal quickly, but in this world at such a high Y value I thought for sure that if I made charcoal I'd find coal immediately afterward. So I just kept pushing it... maybe not my brightest idea! :)

You can use logs for fuel, then make a campfire for cooking.
I was tempted! But then I found plenty of coal :)

So this is bedrock? Does it have shields or charcoal you can make? I've also noticed that the sheep keep respawning quite often (unusual to me) and trapdoors or fences can do for windows until you get glass. Well done on the video and you have a great voice for this too.
Yes, this is bedrock. It does have shields and charcoal, but I'm slightly resistant to charcoal personally, and never really enjoyed shields, but I ought to try them again.
The passive mob respawns are more generous in Bedrock - good eye.

Why don't you make a stonecutter? Just one iron ingot and 3 Stone, not too expensive and so useful!
I will at some point. I'm not making a ton of stairs out of rarer materials yet, so it doesn't feel urgent.

I'm curious on how your settings are. My switch minecraft lags so much.
I think they're default. I'm playing on an OLED model and only record when it's docked, if that makes a difference. Also, I don't have a ton of Minecraft worlds taking up space - not sure if that impacts performance or not.
I do know that a lot of entities hurts performance. I run into lag when I put up dozens of item frames in a storage space.

I rather like stripped Birch logs, and the planks & slabs are OK (in moderation!), but the unstripped logs are UG-UG-UGLY

I'm playing Bedrock version an a Nintendo Switch OLED (docked, and with a pro controller).
Since i see the coords in the corner i assume this is bedrock and i suggest to put the word bedrock in the description since there are differences between java and bedrock versions

Is the music too loud? I tinkered pretty carefully before I started making videos, but I could bring it down another decibel or two...
