Almost had an issue with him agreeing with the kingdom hearts comment, until he said he only played 3. I liked 3, but it was weaker than 1 and 2, and if you dont know the story from 1 and 2, then you won't fully understand the good points of 3.
Also, i know there's like 5 other games in between somewhere, but those aren't as important than the others, minus maybe some info from birth by sleep

I actually come to play KH few years ago (since for some reason, never had a way to play it), and since i knew it was a very big franchise, i assume it would be best to play from the first one to the last one. If you only play the last one you will not get much of the crazy (and kinda complicated) lore this game has.
from just a gameplay standpoint KH3 is just as good as KH2 if not better. The super bosses in DLC of KH3 were so fun to fight

I remember playing spiderman on the ps2, climbing the empire state building, jumping off and using my Web before hitting the ground. Running on rooftops and not letting myself use webs but trying to make it the whole map.

I've played 1 2 and 3, its not that good of a franchise. 3 is especially bad given that you need dlc to for it to make sense
Remove the Disney assets and Kingdom hearts is a very very meh action rpg.
The combat mechanics become stale fast, the story is all over the place and is guilty of rinse and repeat as well as a slog at times. The english voice acting is very akward because it doesn't match up with the animation so they draw out lines to thr point it sounds like a highschool play.
Like I said remove the Disney properties and the game series does not have 5+ games.

The younger people really won't understand how legendary ORCarina of Time was. In an era where graphics went from 2D to 3D, it was a huge deal. Now a days, graphics haven't had that kind of upscale and end up just looking a tiny bit better each generation. Ocarina was not my favorite Zelda (Link To the Past was; I'm 37), even though I have a half-sleeve on my arm of Link and Ganondorf, but it has some of the best music in any series ever. Ocarina of time was the introduction to video games. I didn't really understand any form of objective (because I was 5 when I played it) but I eventually picked it back up to beat it years later in HighSchool, and it was an absolutely incredible experience.

The first game I got for my 3DS was OOT3D. Never even heard of Zelda before that even though I had a GBA prior (guess we just never picked up Minish Cap or something), got so hooked on the game that I wouldn't stfu about it. I wasn't even around for the N64 era and I still enjoyed the crap out of it.

A lot of people jumped into KH3 without playing the other games because it was a highly anticipated game and they wanted the views. I did see one channel play the entire series (plus TWEWY before they played KH DDD) in the months leading up to KH3's release so they could stream it on release and understand the game.

I just turned 18 today. People can say what they want. But for me, The Legend of Zelda has been, and always will be the best video game franchise in my opinion. Maybe it's bias because I heavily grew up on it, and I hold massive emotional value toward it. But gosh, Nintendo knows what they are doing when it comes to their games. I love Zelda, and I always will.
Kind of hoping my hot take would have made it "because of the funnies" but its fine- although I will say I a hot take real quick: I never played a LoZ game...and it doesn't look too fun to me...

I think due to it coming out after bo2 was its downfall cuz since bo2 was so good it was hard for ghost to compete against it… the campaign was good but not the best and the Mp ok but again coming from bo2 it hard to top it

Since you’re a Harry Potter fan Terroriser, I’ll sum up your Kingdom Hearts take with something you can understand:
Playing Kingdom Hearts III as your first KH game is equivalent to watching Deathly Hallows Part II as your first Harry Potter movie. Not playing any of the other games beforehand and jumping straight to the end of the saga, of course you’re going to be confused and hate it
Terroriser, people play Black Myth cause it looks fun and there isn’t any politics. Don’t believe me? Look at all the DEI games released. Also the devs were harassed by game jurnos so there’s that too.

Console exclusives are bad and not only make me not like the company, but also not like the console, i already dont have many people i like to play with

By extension, exclusives are fine for single player.
did people forget that those old games n64 an gamecube, ps,1 ps2, xbox, sega, super nintendo had to be polished without patches. so you got a full game out of the box that will always work be fun an tell a good story that are still played to this day. a lot of the older games are still more based an peak than any other modern trash that needs 100 patches later to just get it to not crash.

Damnit. I have a whole bullet list of a few dozens of gaming hot takes on a note to copy paste for such occasions, I completely missed this post, they would have been steaming hot compared to all of these cold wet f°rt takes.
Im 22 years old. Ocarina of time predates me by like six years. However, it is the reason im a Zelda fan today. My dad bought me Ocarina of time for my 2DS when i was 13 (yes i played the remaster first, not the og), and it became my favorite game on the system. I bought Breath of the Wild because of that game, then later played the older games like Skyward sword, wind waker, and Majora's Mask. I still replay Ocarina of time now because i enjoy the dungeons. In my opinion, an HD remaster, with full camera movement and improved controls would sell incredibly well today if it were to happen.
I do think the next 3d game should blend the new games open world with the old games dungeons and temples.
20:27 It's not the developers who are the problem, it's the heads of the companies who are forcing unfinished games to be released, so it feels lazy and/or boring. The problem is that some games release half baked that features that are implemented down the road in updates are things that shouldve been in the initial release. So when a game that is half baked comes out, people will steer clear of it and that may be the nail in tbe coffin, never being able to show its wings before breaking through its cocoon. Overall, its the company heads that need to be blamed for the faults in games being released to early... Unless your Ubisoft. Ubisoft is a different breed that easily has both devs and ceo that think what they did was great and will bite back if you think otherwise, but it is an actual dumpster fire that deserves that title just because the devs themselves are rude (The Ubisoft years with the original Rayman to Far Cry 4 was when they were actually trying and doing well)
One of my first Zelda games was botw and I’ve recently played ocarina of time and found it amazing. So nobody can say it’s only liked because everyone is blinded by nostalgia

Most of the games are like that, since its actually hard to innovate nowadays when a lot of games already have created a new thing. Just look how the first battle royale game became so successfull, then months/years later every company was creating their own. Im not saying its bad to copy paste, but its kinda inevitable.
My hot take in the gaming scene here is, if you overhype a game for other people claiming that it's a "masterpiece, 10/10, PEAK, GOAT" or whatever, you are responsible for their disapointment since you made out like its the 2nd coming when clearly it's far from it.
Late to the party, but here's my hot take. Disney Speedstorm is better than Mario Kart (minus the free to play aspect). I have more fun with it than Mario Kart and whereas double dash had unique items (although they were just reqular items but bigger), it was always shared by 2 people and they never brought it back. Disney Speedstorm has unique skills for everyone where for example Maleficent (the latest racer) can use magic to call down lightning to stun racers and stunning 6 makes her turn into a dragon auto fly bullet bill style through the track for a while, stunning opponents along the way while being invulnerable. It has looked at Mario Kart and other kart racers and innovated. The underwater mechanics, unique skills that stand out for each racer and common skills on par with Mario Kart. It's also the only non Mario Kart kart racer I enjoy other than Team Sonic Racing which I enjoy cause I love Sonic and it isn't made horribly like Garfield Kart or others like it. Also Speedstorm has team mode online races which Mario Kart only has teams in battle mode and not races. And lastly the tracks are Mario Kart tier. Looking forward to October 10th where they add Nightmare Before Christmas track with Jack, Sally, Oogie Boogie and Dr Finklestein

Someone complaining about Zelda 'not being a very good franchise' with also saying 'the old ones are worse' sounds like a child who didn't know what games were like when each of the Zelda games came out, and are just comparing them with current/newer games that came out later.
Even with comparing Pokemon Legends of Arceus (2022) with LoZ Breath of the Wild (2017) there's five years between them with the Zelda one coming out first. To me, it looks like Legends of Arceus is heavily inspired by Breath of the Wild.
To me, TotK felt WAY to similar to BotW to me. Felt more like a expansion than a new game. Doesn't help that it uses the exact same surface map.
I think games now a days have a huge expectation… any game that is known and falls short would get absolutely fked by the community…. But games such as lethal company that comes out of nowhere and becomes the game of the year is something that we want… a game we have little information about and explore the game and enjoy it

So I’m gonna say this, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are really good but I prefer Pokémon Legends Arceus because I feel like BOTW and TOTK are too big for me and it was very daunting, having open zones would be my preferred style of open games. I will say that BOTW and TOTK look better than Legends Arceus
I can’t really side with the Zelda Series is flawless when skyward sword exists. That game was dog shit the day it came out and it still is.

@@Caboose47 I’ve never liked the hand hold nature of Zelda games that came after Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. It doesn’t feel like a Zelda game to me. The controls on the Wii’s remote are just way too clunky, the story is the only passable part in my opinion because the story in Zelda games have to only be passable. The whole bomb bowling mechanic was a fucking joke and made the whole throwing bombs mechanic even worse in my opinion.

Here's a hot take zelda breath of the wild was the last good zelda game. Tears of the kingdom is trash and just a gaint sand box games and has no connection to the previous at all nothing you do matters in rhe next game
I've been a Kingdom Hearts fan since KH1 came out when I was a kid, and I will say Kingdom Hearts 3 was a weak entry on multiple fronts, so I can see why Brian had his initial opinion.
- The game was too easy. The community complained about this so loudly that Tetsuya Nomura actually responded by saying he mistakenly thought the modern gamer wants a casual experience.
He then released a free update with Critical Mode in it, and players proceeded to be defeated in the first world when playing that mode. That said, the 13 data boss battles in the paid DLC are... _very_ difficult for something that is not really optional. Higher difficulty bosses have been fine when they were optional, but these guys stood in the way of story content.
- Story was very cutscene heavy. I get that the goal was to wrap up the Xehanort Saga story arc, but hot damn, lemme play the game.
- Frozen world was godawful, and I was actually kinda disappointed in the Big Hero 6 world map, though the story was good.
The best worlds were Toy Story and Monsters Inc, and Pirates of the Caribbean had fun gameplay.
Overall, though, KH3 is a lot more satisfying for someone who played the previous games, especially for those who played KH Birth by Sleep and at least watched the 358/2 Days cutscene movie and know what happened at the end of Dream Drop Distance.
Oh God. I have a friend who also thinks bo2 is one of the worst cod games, yet sucks of mw2/3.
Honestly I had fun with wukong after a bit I decided to put mods on and I could not stop laughing 🤣😂🤣😂 I did the same with sekiro turn the most the characters into one piece characters and a lot of other random things just for fun I played as shaggy with a baguette 🥖 as a sword 🗡️

I agree with with the comment saying give games time to be made but it also said we should except incomplete games which goes against the first point. Also either what is used to create games hasn't evolved with time to keep up with the size of new games or something else is slowing things down. Naughty Dog, Rockstar, Insomniac and more used to able to get fully finished and fun games out every year or two. Now it's been over a decade since GTA 5 and Naughty Dog just keep rereleasing Last of Us and it's dumpster fire sequel, I may not like Spiderman 2 but at least it showed Insomniac still puts things out as regularly as they can.

20:48 This is 100% a take I wholeheartedly disagree with. From what I read, I'm interpreting this as "games don't need to be finished before being sold," correct me if I'm wrong. We are paying +$70 (or $120 if you're from where I'm from) we should be expecting a completely finished product and not a broken mess. It's not entirely the Dev's fault sure but we should still be able to criticise them CONSTRUCTIVELY to push them to do better. For example Baldur's Gate 3. It did everything right and instead of getting praise from other devs, it got criticism for "setting an unrealistic standard for other developers."
Bloodborne on the other hand I love that game to death but there are obviously some things that I don't like about the game, like the teleportation system where you have to go back to the home base just to go anywhere, or when cage head decides to kill you in one hit because you decided I don't need resistance to that what enemy uses magic in bloodborne NONE
the only thing i could defend Infinite Warfare for is the space dogfights
but then again...im a sucker for dogfights

But I do agree that KH3 was a letdown in many aspects, but it also still has its high points too.
Double dash is great and so is crash tag team racing on the PS2 it needs a remaster so people can actually play the game again with online capabilities with a few extra characters would be great
I played OoT for the first time last year and it was amazing. Also Play KH 1 and especially 2. Kh3 was a polished turd looked pretty but was completely crap.
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be blasted to oblivion with my hot take but there I go: force the player to play/interact with other player to play the game. These are usually for PC sandboxes but I hated that i couldnt progress with the story(I love games stories/quest aspect) if i could not play with other ppl. Yeah, i know its a BS take when the game is mainfully a multiplayer game, but i do wanna play the game in solo time.

Ahh i missed when you posted to put our hot takes. I have one: the star wars games, specifically the forced unleashed titles and lego, are better than any star wars movie :)
I like dark souls but there are times where I don't like it because sometimes I can do it really easily and there's those other times where the console itself seems to give me the middle finger that day

cod ghost being overhated isnt really a hot take, im sure many would agree, i recently replayed it and loved every mission, even had some missions i didnt remember that made me appreciate it more, probably because it was my brothers turn lol

The bullet storm shout out is awesome. I’ve played it at least 3 times now!! It’s pure chaos and mindless shooting. I loved just hooking people in to kick them and send them flying. It was a blast
Here's something that messes with my head anime that is an English dubbed for some reason the games do not have any English there are very few that actually decide to go the extra mile for the actual people who live in America and speak English not Japanese
