You don't have to be german to enjoy german stuff... I for one am american and live in germany, speak the language, eat the food, and drive their boats. German stuff is just all around great. *Fantasizes about Spießbraten*

I'm not 100% sure yet about the build. I'll be investigating the guns a bit closer, and probably want to see how she plays with the APCS skill. I still feel conflicted about the secondaries, I tried brawling a Monty at 5km, and barely came out ahead.

The secondary built works great for me. I've had a game where the auto secondaries destroyed a full t10 destroyer alone! didn't take long. and with the really good survivability it is easy to go into secondary-range when the heavy fire of the enemies is divided. And as a sniper this ship is (besides from the precision) actually pretty good. I mean, the shells almost do full penetrations, and citadels or modules are often hit. It took me a long while till I figured out how to play this ship, but with the secondary built I get along really well. One IMPORTANT tip is that you try to rush as often as possible. Angle into the enemies, then they won't do enough damage. then use your fast speed and the fast reloading guns, to destroy the ships. I destroyed many Montana's, Yamato's and Republique's with less than the half of my HP that way.
P.S.: Terry, here is you first success story with the secondary built. ;)
Interesting. Would you say you're usually alone / in flanking positions, or are you sailing with the bulk of your team, and break through once both sides have made contact? I find that if I expose myself, even just by being a couple of ships' lengths ahead of my team, I immediately get focus-fired.
@@FunandGameswithTerry yeah you get focused every time. But for that you got speed and survibanility. I usually go between the Islands on sides to the enemies so I can flank them. In maps with one Cappoint I go to the enemies and stick to the inner sides of the area.
ModelWarships 'MWs' do you run the equipment that increase secondary and auto cannon ranges? Or the one where it only increases secondary range?

To be honest terry I'm disappointed to Kürfurst even though the German BB received a buff
I really don't know why blitz didn't follow The Kürfurst design in PC and console, why didn't she have 4x3 configuration
we don't get to chose hulls in Blitz, so I guess they had to pick one, and used the more "traditional" (for German BBs) layout, rather than create another Monty.

I really appreciate your in-depth break down of the ships with the short bit of history. I’ve watched and rewatched numerous videos of yours(this being my third comment on this video, no I did not comment every time I watched it lol). You are the only channel I’ve found that reviews in this format, even take the historical aspect out, you’re still consistently the best. DFA also does good reviews on ships, he just doesn’t do as many as you, his spread sheets of info are outstanding though, not sure if you’ve seen any of his content. You two are by far my favorite and go-to’s for reviews and info.
She was my first T10 BB and my absolute favorite because not only she is the largest and the longest of her kind in the game but also a one hell of a brawler.

If I want to be an aggressive BB player should I take the germans?
Yes. I like brawling at close range, so I am grinding the german line. I am currently at the König and going ahead at a relatively fast pace.
I have Yamato now which is a blast but you have to play Yamato from stand-off range like a sniper. I am hoping this ship can brawl. I have Freddy at Tier IX.
I hope Blitz change the gun configuration of the Kürfurst

Hmm... I’m disappointed hearing about the secondaries. Secondary builds are my favorite feature with German BB’s. The mains sound like a mixed bag. I was about week from FG before I took a break from the game. Any notable buffs/changes since your fine, informative review came out, Terry?

My favorite tier 10. I'm grinding the German BB line not because of the Bismarck but because of this ship.
Iowa a battle cruiser.........no Terry that's a fast battleship.
She handles like a battlecruiser in Blitz, cuz Wargaming China can't tell these two apart either.
ha, I thought you'd pick up on that :) Admittedly, tongue-in-cheek, because so far I find Iowas to be rather easy targets. Their armour is more or less the same as the South Dakotas (Alabama is the only one in game of that class, I think, and she's tier 8), so purely from experience of shooting at (and through) them, they don't feel as tanky. I've yet to play her, though, so we'll see.
Mind you, I don't mind battlecruisers at all - I prefer speed and manoeuvrability over massive armour protection. Hood & Kongo are excellent ships.
@@FunandGameswithTerry When someone talks about American Warships I tend to notice :D .the South Dakota's actually had slightly thicker belt armor. The Dakota's had 310mm of belt armor and the Iowa's had 307mm. However the Iowa's were made to be very fast unlike the South Dakota's. I do love battle cruisers however I would consider ships like the Puerto Rico and Alaska (both are on Wos PC) to be battle cruisers. Both of them where considered Battle cruisers but they were officially called Cruisers by the US Navy. The Iowa however was called a battleship or a fast battleship. She had Battleship caliber guns, battleship armor, and Battleship size, but she was fast. I love battle cruisers myself and I've played the hood a few times and I absolutely love it. I don't have the Iowa yet but I'm nearly there (I've been on the real Battleship Iowa just last year and its really cool seeing her in all her glory considering the fact she was launched in 1942).
The Hood is definitely a fun ship. Scored 97k on her, most of it from a New Mexico that didn't realize I was 11 knots faster and that I could easily draw circles around it and avoid its main guns :)

Can you please recommend me a good set of equipment for izumo, and please do a review on izumo cuz lot of players out there have problems with that ijn bb,and to grind with her for Yamato makes it even worse
I'm at Nagato still on the IJN BB line, but I'll put it on the backlog. I've heard bad things about the Izumo, but then again, no one likes tier 9 ships :)
Just looking at the numbers (again, without having played the ship). The turret layout is like the Nelson, range is good. If available, I'd probably use the precision mod in slot one (pending testing, of course). Secondary mod might work, but if she plays like Nelson, I'd be rarely using it.
Her fire prevention looks rather disappointing at 12.5%, so I'd probably pick the deck protection mod in slot 2. Propulsion often is a popular choice, especially for long-range ships, but I personally prefer not being burned down by Worcester & friends. Her base turn time is 18.6 seconds, so I'd use steering mod in slot 3, to be able to dodge some shells and torps, if necessary.
In terms of playstyle, I'd try to get into a position with some cover, and, depending on the shell performance, either set things on fire or rain down plunging AP on BBs. Again, all purely theoretical.
You might want to have fire protection on Izumi. I have run across it a few times in my Monarch (tier 8 HE spammer) & found Izumi vulnerable to fires & fire damage. I usually fire HE in Monarch, then switch to AP after all DDs are gone. However, if I see an Izumi, I stay with HE. Please note: This is based on only a few battles, so I recommend getting more feedback if you have already done your set up on Izumi.

Terry what is the best bb nation tier line ?
That very much depends on what you like.
German BBs are generally rather sturdy, quite fast in higher tiers, and have good secondary armament, and rapid-firing, but low number of main guns with sometimes questionable dispersion. You play them aggressively, they work best at mid- or close range. This of course means that you're often exposed, especially in top tiers (9 and 10) it makes them quite difficult to play.
USN BBs are the "middle ground" - they're dreadfully slow till tier 7 (gets better afterwards), with decent guns and decent armour, as well as decent secondaries. They're quite hard to set on fire, and tend to be bristling with AA. They do require you to think about positioning a bit, due to their lack of speed, in the earlier tiers. The reload skill lets them dish out quite some damage when needed.
IJN BBs tend to have comparatively weak armour, but good precise guns and decent speed. They're good ranged ships, you usually don't want to play them too close. If you like staying back and snipe, IJN is probably the best choice. That's not to say that you can't play them aggressively, you just need to be careful about it. Note that I've only played them till tier 7.
French BBs (I've only played to tier 5 so far) appear to be relatively weakly armoured, and have lower-calibre shells than their contemporaries. This gets better in top tiers, where they're pretty damn dangerous (I've only been on the receiving end). Still, not the sturdiest ships, so probably not best for tanking (mind you, I don't have experience with them yet), but more for faster movement and positioning.
British BBs - we haven't seen much yet, but the Iron Duke gets a reload booster at tier 5, so that's the ship skill we can probably expect going forward.
My personal favourite BB from the tech tree is probably the Bismarck at tier 8 - that's because I generally play quite aggressively, and she's very well suited for that.

You see, that was my first impulse as well. German battleship, low number of mains, lots of secondaries, clear case, right? But in the current tier 10 meta, I'd say 75% of the game is positioning, and ranged gunnery, where my secondaries don't come into play. Also, even with her armour, she can and will be citadel'd by even a Monty when you're close enough for the auto-secondaries to open up. I'm not usually compensating a weakness, but reinforcing the strength of a ship, but in this case, I just don't see how I'd use her secondaries most of the time.
I'll definitely be spending a lot more time refining this, and would love to hear success stories with secondary builds.

Yeah, I'll have to grind that out for sure. The penetration feels a bit weird, I'm used to German AP hitting extremely hard, but I wasn't able to get full pens on an Iowa's belt at 5km, where I'm pretty sure the Freddy would have been able to get through. More research is needed, but the skill is definitely something I'm working towards.

The problem I had initially with her secondaries are that we've lost 1/3 of the 150mm turrets, compared to the Freddy, which is huge for DD defence imo. She does get an impressive range of auto-secondaries, and they have a larger calibre, but unless a DD actually gives chase, I don't really see them work too well in that role, since the predictive aim is relatively easy to dodge. I find them quite useful against light cruisers, really, but I sorely miss my 150s. Combined with the glacial manoeuvrability and acceleration, these were the reasons for me to go with a tank/range build.
Now some say they've got great success with a secondary build, so I'm totally not discounting it - when you get there, and if you can make it work, I'd be super interested to see it.
I just noticed that I don't actually get the icon when being actually targeted by opponents, only the proximity detection notice. Not sure if that's a bug or if I'm doing something wrong
I'm running the... what's it called? Premium? Legendary? captain on this ship, he has a special captain skill, which points out how many opponents are targeting you. Regular captains don't have that.
Unlike in pc, we dont have the "priority target" capt. skill which is show you how many target locked on you in blitz..so it maybe a special/legendary commander skill

You're thinking of the PC version, where the stock hull has the 406mm guns in triple turrets, and the 420s in twin turrets need to be researched. Since there aren't any hull research modules in Blitz, we get the 420s straight up.

Yes, Mino is vicious. I'm just used to blowing her out of the water with BB shells, looks like the very large calibres require a bit more careful aiming :)

Yeah, it's not been the most fun grind, I have to say. Not because she's not a good ship, but because situations where you can play her to her strengths - break through, brawl, leading a push - are relatively rare in tier 9 and 10.

I am waiting for Kremlin in mobile as PC player mostly GK is absolutely garbage in Long range man really I have A spotter plane to increase range but no use and Has the second Highest HP pull

But really Secondary are very effect in PC version man it just rains HE on you from 10km man That's like a light cruiser firing .
Guns in PC version are 3*4 means 12 guns very helpful and I thought that it would be mobile but story is different here.
Has Best Turtle Back armour and Firing angle and great speed of 29 knots.

I saw him upload a video and I thought I vs him yesterday 3 games in a row And i saw the video I was like for sure im in it lmao
hahaha well done. At least you didn't focus me with planes :) My plan was to attract as much fire as possible on the right flank from the heavy-hitters, so my cruisers would have a chance to break through on the left (especially the Mino and Neptune). That's one reason I've been rotating my targets. Well, I can say that at least my half of the plan worked :D And I almost got that Mino with the flanking shot at the end.
