Note: Augmentations don't unlock the recipe, they just allow you to craft said item. You will still need to visit the trader to get the recipe for the item you want to craft.

The problem im have isnt that i dont know how they work, i just dont know how to setup a room and have everything ready so i can just craft and not have to worry about if it has the right augment or not. I would love to see (from anybody at this point lol) a more in depth, what each augment does with what bench or even how others have their's setup to be optimized. What people opinion for optimization, im sure varies a bit and its helpful for people who, like me, have the brain cells of a fish hahah. I digress, thank you for the video and to many more :)
Seriously if you find this PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE share... I've been looking everywhere for just a basic guide to see which crafting pieces go to which augmentations. I get how they work but it'd help to see that information laid out so I can at least plan my layout since no one else is sharing theirs.
Right now I've got an anvil that only gives a green line to my brazier when it's being made... but the recipes are only for tools and tailoring. Just feeling a little crazy on which info to follow 😂

This is a great overview, but there are still unanswered questions -- I have the basic sawhorse, but it doesn't unlock the items you show (they are still locked). I wish there was some overview of how you unlock those things that are locked. What are the progression gates?

You need to either buy them from a merchant, or earn them doing the puzzles and such.
Another issue is the max augment slots. There's like a dozen augments for the workbench. But if you only have 6 Aug slots open on it, the first six Augs you build will be the only ones that'll use. So if you have the saddle rack as number 7, the recipes won't show even if you have them in your book.
TV, you may want to put the game name in the thumbnail or video title.

YES THANK YOU!!! I have the ability to make the Lancaster BUT it wasn't showing up on my list to built BECAUSE my workbench and saddle rack where to far from each other.

There's also a limit to augmentations on a crafting station. Ie the workbench has more augmentations than slots available. We lost recipes after max slots were full the only thing i found was making a second workbench for more augmentations. I love this game but the crafting is confusing with so many augmentations and placement. Also found the green line that shows what it augments sometimes will go to sources of light? Not sure if it's a bug
Sources of light are an augmentation as well. As far as I can tell, they decrease crafting time.
As @LMD2915 notes, sources of light will reduce crafting time by adding the well-lit trait to the crafting table. This is why you will see a green line when placing a crafting station in range and line of sight of a light source. You should also usually see one for the campfire, which adds the warmth(?) trait, which further reduces crafting time. However, note these are "traits," not "augments." As such, they apply their effect to the crafting stations, but do not take up an augmentation slot. This is clear when you look at the beds. Bed, too, get the benefit of these traits, adding to the comfort level of the bed when resting, yet beds do not have augmentation slots.

Do you think there's a benefit to organizing your base so that crafting tables are in range of all the augmentations?
Or just layout the base as you want and then craft multiple augments if you need the augment for multiple tables?
I've started doing it the first way... A ring of crafting tables with a cluster of augments sitting in the middle... And it seems to work but it's super ugly.
So maybe id be better off setting the tables out in a more spaced out manner and then making copies of the augments for the tables that need them?

Important! Its right what you said and showed, but there is even MORE into Augmentations. Some of them have hidden "buffs" for some Benches. Some of them gives +melee dmg or +ranged dmg and so on. You wont see any Information of it on the Augmentation itself.
Tipp from me, even it takes time. Use a empty room, set your bench and give it an Augmentation. After you did that, inspect your bench, if there is something new in it. It wont be always this case, but happens often enough, trust me. You want that extra Dmg or extra whatever for all your weapons and tools!!!

Thank you for the details, it's still a bit confusing, but this helps. Still not sure where to find Scouts and Riding clothing. I don't see any traders with it, but can make the training dummy and other augmentations

How did you move the saddle horse? Every time me and my sister want to move something we have had to destroy then rebuild, can you just move things?
So, what I don't get is... All the recipes are locked for me right now, except for a couple. So, the augmentation alone isn't enough to unlock the recipes? Apparently there are other requirements for it to unlock. And then, apparently you don't actually need the augmentation for some, like the refined wood axe. I made it on the bench without an augmentation, but then saw the toolbox shows it unlocked there as well. So confusing.
So glad you commented this lol. We were left scratching our heads when we noticed it. My buddy was so excited to let me know he had just gotten the toolbox and now he can make me a refined axe... i said.. oh you mean like this one? I had already made it and the refined pick axe without the toolbox lol
Thank you, I was wondering if there is a limit of augmentations per crafting station? I heard a rumor that there was a limit, but I haven't found definitive info on what that number might be. If there is a limit, then maybe I will toss some in a chest and only display if I need a certain item. Thanks for all the great info, it's so helpful.
Just watched another video yesterday they said it's a limit of 2 per station. Not sure where they got that information but a few others in the comments also mentioned it.
I see checkmarks when I look at the crafting station but how can I find out what augmentations they are, because doesnt the game auto load the augments and if I have too many near I might not be getting the augment I want?
I'm having a hard time figuring out how to craft a workbench with magic augmentations? Like do I have to build it with some type of magic resource? Or do I find a certain augmentation to build by the bench?
As long as this has been being made this should have a lot more done before they released it.

So im having an issue, im trying to make guns but dont have access to the stock for them. Ive built the brazier, ive got access to the rifle too but not the shotgun. I have everything else but i cant make a stock. Anyone have advice?

Why do some augmentations remove recipes from a station?
I did alot od desert Antiquarian and 75% of the challengest i did gave me nothing but Essence no cards or Aug's

Massive monumental pain in the butt, arranging the placeables and benches to optimise effects for crafting however, when some items rely on lone of sight and proximity, others don't. And the benches randomly change that they'll actually do depending on in-game time of day. It's a joke atm. Needs an overhaul. No line of sight for one thing. And clear tether lines to benches and placeables that effect each other.
They should add you as an NPC so we can learn what the heck is going on in this game 😅

This system is dumb AF. The fact that one augmentation needs to link to several workstations makes it so you pretty much have to pile all the crafting stuff into one tight little space. I am absolutely flabbergasted by the design choices with this system.
