I was in Matlock Bath just two weeks ago. I wish I'd have seen this though❗️Id walk right passed it not knowing it was even there.😫 Stunning. Another excellent video Thank you.👍🏼
I met quite a few of the Troggs my dad was 1 of them, the stories and image a lot of people had/have aren't true, he still has paper cuttings where they were mentioned. Ive been down there myself many times and slept down there too it's a really nice mine/cavern and you can spend a whole day exploring which messes with you a bit when you go in during the day then come out to darkness lol.
@@patterdaledivecave3545 I get ya. Ya call something the wrong thing and people jump on ya like a pack of dogs. Some of the terms are different from the UK to the states. Stay safe out there
I might of missed them but i didn't see any footage of what we call the wishing well, it's a pool of water thats filtered through the limestone. Also some other chambers named was piano chamber because there's a large slab of rock in the shape of a grand piano and also Queens chamber where you can still see the bracket from a chandelier on the ceiling from when Queen Victoria visited.
@patterdaleminecave3545 definitely there's so much to see and so many passages especially down what we call the maze, i actually have 2 old maps of the workings from my dad and some area's are gone and other's have appeared through rockfalls with Cumberland being a natural cavern.
@@patterdaledivecave3545 You're very fortunate to live there. I'm currently fascinated by the region. My Patrilineal ancestry since 1586 I've traced to the Amber valley, from Crich, to Lea, Holloway & Ashover till the19th century. Now in Sheffield. A very slow migration.
@@patterdaledivecave3545 That would be great. I'd really appreciate it and would love to come along. I'm a beginner but do have a pro helmet and plenty of torches. I'm in the Peaks every weekend so maybe we could sort something in the new year.
No the adit / entrance is buried you have to go via Wapping entrance shown on the video then go up th slope with the partially buried wheel barrow then climb up a bit of a face of rock
Ah OK. Thank you. Can you recommend any good, local caves or quarries that I'd be able to just go and take a look around? I collect minerals and crystals and would love to get a little bit of local mineral. I'm not a caver. I'm just Joe public, so nothing where I need to use equipment or anything I have to squeeze through lol
