Another amazing video Michael sitting at home lovely your videos and going on Saturday can't wait loads of fish again and soon good tips for a good fisherman
I live in Harwich and I have only just started fishing about 2 weeks ago im only 20 so I got a lot of years in me to learn but I live right near where you fished I'm going there tonight for the first time 😊
As you said, a good end to what I would have happily described as a good session. Another very enjoyable video...your videos are always a joy to watch. Think I need to take a deep breath, fill the tank with diesel and get myself to the shore for a session! Cheers. Ken
Yes - I did call out, not sure whether that got recorded. There's plenty of potential hazards to be aware of and look out for. Accidents happen; thankfully I've yet to be involved in one on a beach or prom.. Well spotted - I was aware of that whilst editing and could have cut it out, but try to keep my videos as real and representative as possible. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Having watched many UK fishing videos, I've always wondered what Bluey is ..... now I know, we call it Sauri in NZ. It wasn't used during my childhood years in the UK - Mackerel, Herring & Sprats were all we used (my biggest Thornback of 18lbs in 1982 took a whole Sprat)
Yet another relaxing watch with some great different species, not to mention that lovely sole at the end (yummy)😊. great session sir. thank you for sharing 🎣
Thanks for the video Michael, a nice mixed bag. Have to be really careful of the pooches. Hooked a nice Labrador on Shingle Street last year. Why do dog owners always assume everybody else love dogs?
Cracking video as always Rods, with great tips and info in all your videos.I know you like to use braid but do you ever use mono? Stay safe and keep on bringing out these top videos.
Many thanks for that. I much prefer to use braid, except in a side wind or where there are plenty of snags. Mono is better in both those situations and is more wear resistant - I should really use it more often, but carrying extra spools adds weight to my gear and I tend to carry too much as it is.
Thanks Leslie - yes, sometime - although I much prefer to fish off beaches than piers / breakwater / harbour arms etc.. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nice video we were down there last year with the family took my spinning gear to have some fun with the grandsons all we caught was a seagull spent ten minutes get untangled but flew of ok😂😂👍
Enjoyed that . Actually heading there myself tomorrow for a dabble into darkness hopefully might get a Ray or bass . Do you know if you can wade much out there ? Looks pretty shallow . All the best
Great video, again, 4 species and some friendly locals ! Were the bait robbers shore crabs or the dreaded spiders ? I lost 3 hooks to them yesterday at Shoreham. Time for the braid snoods. Keep the videos coming, we all look forward to the next one.
Not spider crabs and I'm not sure whether they get them here Rob, as I haven't fished Harwich that much yet. I use braid hooklengths myself at several venues to avoid spider crabs. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hi Rod have watched your channel for a while, just curious where about are you based as you get about a bit. I’m near Sizewell I know you have been this way, a lot of travelling. Carry on the great content 👍
Southend based - but don't mind travelling, unless fuel prices rocket too much. I have fished Sizewell quite a bit in the past - for soles in summer and dabs in winter. Need to visit to film there soon. Thanks for watching.
Another great video, thank you. A quick (hopefully not a daft question) do you prefer to fish with the continental impact leads over grips or does it depend on conditions?
Thanks Bill - yes, conditions dictate - with little tidal pull, then grip leads / breakaways are not needed and continental leads are the way to go, particularly if you fish with braid.

Best of luck!
Wow two Rays and a Sole. That cheered up the early hours of a Yorkshire morning. Great to see. Thanks
Nice one Tony.
Awesome again cobber. Happy catching from AUSTRALIA Nick
Thanks again Nick!
Thanks Rod that looked enjoyable. I seem to catch more skate on fresh out lug than on fish baits .
Thanks Gary - all of my undulates have come to small bits of rag and squid intended for bream; most thornbacks to just ragworm.
Target species caught, well fished
Thanks John - just need to catch them on intended baits!
fantastic video again 👍👍👌👌
Thanks for that Stephen.

Glad you enjoyed it Ken. Yes, its getting a bit costly now.
BIFF 12:02 that little kid nearly had his eye out not looking where he was running.

My bigger rays from the Bristol Channel have come to squid - I don't seem to catch much on fish baits, but keep trying.

Thanks and best wishes to you Michael. Lets hope its going to be a good year for soles.
Thanks for the video Michael, a nice mixed bag. Have to be really careful of the pooches. Hooked a nice Labrador on Shingle Street last year. Why do dog owners always assume everybody else love dogs?
Thanks Chris - yes dogs on beaches and proms can cause some issues.
Great video. Nice mixed catch with a splendid sole at the end. Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see you back in Dovercourt, I think I saw you that day as was wwwwandering by, do you plan to fish Ha'penny pier?
Thanks Leslie - yes, sometime - although I much prefer to fish off beaches than piers / breakwater / harbour arms etc.. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nice video we were down there last year with the family took my spinning gear to have some fun with the grandsons all we caught was a seagull spent ten minutes get untangled but flew of ok😂😂👍
Shame - but it happens to us all - as long as they are released unharmed, that's all that matters. Thanks for watching.
Enjoyed that . Actually heading there myself tomorrow for a dabble into darkness hopefully might get a Ray or bass . Do you know if you can wade much out there ? Looks pretty shallow .
All the best
Thanks and good luck. Its shallower to the north; here, deeper than it looks at the top of the tide.
Love your videos what camera equipment do you use?
Thanks - just a range of action cameras.
Great video, again, 4 species and some friendly locals ! Were the bait robbers shore crabs or the dreaded spiders ? I lost 3 hooks to them yesterday at Shoreham. Time for the braid snoods. Keep the videos coming, we all look forward to the next one.

Excellent video and excellent fish! The sole looked 'sizeable' (edible)...? 🙂
Thanks Ben - yes, It went down well!
