    Hi Rob! Thanks for including my CLEAN By Pan Rinse-Less Wash in this video. As you know, in my lineup, we have both a shampoo and a rinse-less wash. I myself am more of a shampoo type person, as in my 27 years of detailing that's what I was used to. But as you know, rinseless washes have been gaining in popularity in the past years, and some people simply don't have access to a pressure washer or garden hose to clean their cars, so using a rinseless wash is a much safer option compared to a waterless wash.
    That being said, there are still a few considerations to take into account when doing a rinseless wash method, and here are a few tips that can help you or anyone thinking of using that method:
    1) A rinseless wash method doesn't mean you never rinse. It just means that no rinsing is needed at the end of the wash process.
    If the vehicle is super dirty and caked in a thick layer of dirt or mud, you would absolutely have to pre-rinse the vehicle first, to knock off the loose dirt and debris. The same common sense applies to the traditional soap wash method: you wouldn't put a microfiber wash mitt and start washing a car that's caked in mud and dirt. You'd pre-foam or pre-rinse first, and then do the contact wash.
    2) Just like a pH neutral shampoo has its limitations and can't always remove all the types of dirt, a pH neutral rinseless wash also has the same limitations. So while pH neutral cleaners are great for regular maintenance, over time, there is usually a layer of road film that accumulates, that oily substance that pH neutral cleaners just can't fully remove. That's obvious when you are washing your car and notice that even after the wash, the water isn't beading especially in the lower parts of the vehicle.
    That can be one of two situations typically: road film accumulation, which requires an alkaline soap, or mineral deposit accumulation which requires an acidic soap. I will have a video soon on a winter wash, which shows exactly this.
    So keep in mind that we designed the CLEAN By Pan Rinse-Less Wash to be pH neutral. Great for regular cleaning. But every now and then, you'll see that mineral or film buildup that will require an alkaline and/or acidic wash. Companies like Labocosmetica have now released their own alkaline and acidic rinseless washes (called Preludio) and you can use those as a pre-treat at a 1:10 dilution on the surface, let it dwell, then do the contact with the rinseless solution on top, as per usual.
    3) You can use microfiber wash mitts or towels as the wash media when using a rinseless wash method, but as odd as it seems, the appropriate rinseless wash sponges are a better option in that situation. And this comes from me, who likes the traditional soap method with a microfiber wash mitt hehe. The rinseless wash sponges are designed to remove pressure points (as they are thick sponges) and have cuts in them allowing the dirt to have a place to get into, and then be released in the bucket when dunking the sponge in the bucket. I highly encourage you to give it a try. A quality sponge like The House Of Rags premium rinseless sponge, the DIY Detail Legacy Sponge, The Rag Company Ultra Black Sponge, McKee's gold sponge, Optimum Big Red Sponge, etc. All good options.
    So for apartment/condo dwellers with no access to water to clean their cars, or for people living in areas with heavy water restrictions or water bans, or for people wanting to save water, a rinseless is a great and safe alternative to clean your car, as long as you use common sense when using the method.

    Northeasterner here as well! The hate i have for our cold snowy winters is strong! I been doing rinseless for the past 3 winters now and I feel I have a great process. Go to self wash I pretreat with stjarnagloss forst then rinse off. It pulls the road salts and film off then I drive home in my. Garage where I do rinseless. At times I will bring my rinseless with me depending on weather but the self wash is so close to my house quick 5 min drive rather do it at home. Using 6 rags instead of the sponge works well and don't redunk the nasty rag back into the rinseless. Wheels is the same process. I do have 2 sponges for rinseless I use them as well at times. Diy detail along with onr and also p&s absolute all work well. I still have to order pans and try it out. I was never a rinseless guy but it works so well and is usually quicker than getting out the pressure washer ect. Thanks for the video!

    • @talkingwithcars
      @talkingwithcars  7 днів тому +1

      Hey my friend! Yes...you seem to have the process figured out for sure!! ONR is definitely one of the OG rinseless washes...I had that last year but was so worried about using it. I used it like a waterless wash once and it did well. Order Pans for sure! It's a great product...I'd like to see what you think of the smell also. I think for my second attempt at this, I want to use an IK foamer with the rinseless wash as a pre-treat at a local touchless car wash and see how clean it gets it. See how much road film is left on the car and if the rinse-less broke it down enough. The next option is the use a touch-less type soap instead as a pre-treat and then run the car through a car wash. That will be one of my other winter videos for sure...I'll probably do a few different winter wash approaches. Like a series :) Thanks for watching and hope you subscribe and hit that bell for notifications! Thanks and Happy Holidays!

      @talkingwithcars i have a few ik pump sprayers they are legit a great sprayer. I also have the gallon sprayers you can get at home depot personally I prefer those since they are cheap and a gallon so you can fill a gallon and dilute in there for pretreat. I tend to pretreat alot more in winter so using a smaller ik having to refill takes to much time. I do use the ik multi pro 2 for the forst it gives a ton of power to knock things off. I have their foam pro 2 and 2 of the 12 love them for wheel cleaning and one of my 12s I use like a foam cannon and fill up with my favorite soaps so instead of breaking out the foam cannon I have it fast and easy. I need to get a multi 9 or 12 that's next on my list. I know alot of people talk down on ik trigger sprayer cause it's expensive but they are so rigid I never had an issue and they are my favorite by far. Thanks again for the video I'll try and get a bottle ordered soon. I have so much rinseless I'm trying to use up before getting new one

      @@talkingwithcarsI try to wait for a day it warms up to maybe at least 45 and snow foam and pressure wash off with deionized water, then let air dry. I’ll use Stars and Stripes by Chem-x so it’s closest soap I know to a “touch free”wash. Depending on the weather I’ve even hand washed in those temps and even lower. That can be brutal though.
      This year my approach will probably be Stars and Stripes and depending how much road film is on the vehicle, pull it into the garage and rinse-less wash for the contact wash. During Black Friday I bought a gallon of Hero so I’m excited to try that out.
      It helps to have a heater garage too! Doing the contact wash inside the garages ends up not being too bad.

      @@talkingwithcars two years ago I installed a Mr. Cool DIY Mini Split system. It’s actually relatively easy. I installed it right next to my electrical panel so it only cost me $400 for an electrician to add the circuit and run the wire to the shut off (which was only a foot away). I only use it for heat, never had to use it for AC. I have a home gym in the garage so that is the main purpose for it but all my stuff folds away so my vehicle can park in there when I’m done working out.
      The times I have rinse-less washed in the garage the mini split does a good with the humidity, which makes it easier to dry the vehicle.

    Its different sponge technology then you were trying to get away from. The sponges you want to not use are the ones that are damaging to the paint. The ones designed now for rinse less is nothing like those. Its the most beneficial non damaging way to use a rinse less. They are designed with a special foam (nothing like what you were getting away from) they have special cuts in the foam. these act as relief points for pressure. it also is designed to collect particles of dirt in the cuts and fingers of the sponge taking them away from the paint so they can be released into the bucket with the solution that actually cleans the sponge when you dunk it into the bucket of water/rinse less solution. Trust me... Ive been doing this for 40 years and it was difficult for me to grab on to until i forced myself to do so then I realized the differences and how much better the wash was with the sponge. BTW I use a much larger pressurized container or one of the new battery operated sprayers that holds 2 to 3 gallons for my pre-spray container. The rinse less when using a hybrid like Pans, Or hero by ADS, Rinse less from DIY are all great hybrids having both surfactants and polymers. The surfactants are great at eating the dirt and pulling it up and then the polymers are great at encapsulating and running the dirt away from the vehicle. I can tell you Rinse less has been a game charger for my services as it speeds things up greatly. If the vehicle is really dirty I might do a citrus pre spray with pressure wash rinse or use the Labocosmetica alkaline and acidic pre rinses for rinse less washing then contact wash with the rinse less for contact wash. It takes time to get used to it if your old school and hard to change in your thoughts or ways much like I was. now im easily convinced rinse less is a much better way when you can.
