I know it's not ideal from a commercial perspective, but I adore the gems with webbing and potch showing in the face. It allows the gem to show a little of its history, how it was formed and some unique patterns.
Thank you Julie
Don't think the value of what you are buying is there. If I buy I want high quality. That's just my take. I was friends for almost 30 years with an antique dealer and jeweler who were husband and wife.
@@christinadolan119 I totally get what you're saying, I just love the aesthetic of the 'flawed' opals. I would expect to pay much less for one over a perfect one.
I agree with the op. The webbing appeals to me from an aesthetic pov
I do too, I think it makes them more interesting
They can’t all be top quality, but I kind of like the webbing in this beautiful piece. Makes it unique 🥰
Yes! Thank you!
Ahhahahah your goofiness is why I keep coming back. Love your personality.
I think the webbing makes it look unique❤
opal is just pure magic. still can't believe this gem exists
I particularly like the Australian crystal opals
Mickey Mantle wasn’t able to hit a home run at every at bat. Finished stone is still beautiful.
I love watching your channel!
Awesome! Thank you!
I love the web. So much more character. It makes it special and unusual.
Ha,ha,ha,ha, That dance was cool. I’m 70. Air Force. You’re the man. Love your videos. Love your daughter. She seams like a sweetheart. I love your relationship with your daughter. 🌈🙏👍🥰🍎🍷🇱🇷❤️😀
Every time I see you’ve put up a video I pause to go get a cuppa to watch with. It’s an unusual mix of edge of seat attention and relaxation for us viewers - and an interesting listen.
Thank you
@@blackopaldirect And the dances are fun!
I havent stopped watching your channel for the last week. So much so that I am already looking for equipment to start and see if I like it myself for hobby. Huge inspiration for future gem cutters.
Awesome! Thank you!
Me too!
Try to find a local Lapidary club to join. They'll have all the equipment you cen use so you don't have to fork out thousands before you try it out
The stone showed you what it wanted you to see. Beauty is in the eye of the "stone holder!" ✌️
Thank you for another Justin's larger than life personality video. You bring so much joy. you're the true gem here, sir😊. The stone is beautiful, too. Till next time.God bless.
I absolutely love them with webbing in them. They are so much more beautiful with them. I'll never understand why they are less in value when they have sooooo much texture and beauty. This one was a winner ❤
What a cool piece! Webbing can add to an opals character. Sure, the overall value can be less, but webbing does have a tendency to interplay with the play of color. Sometimes even for the better! I personally appreciate this kind of unique aspect of Australian opals. This opal you just cut, shows that perfectly!
I'll take that web every single day, Justin! To me it says, "I'm a rock and I show my beauty after a skilled artist coaxed me to do so."
Thanks Justin. Showing the weight, body tone, brightness and price really helps us understand these precious gems better. It gives your viewers a better visual picture.
Hehehe😂 Freddy Mercury ,would have been proud of you swinging the broom like that .
Glad to see the old Justin back!!😂❤
I am halfway through the video and I see a SIGNATURE gem possibility! Those are the best ones in my opinion. They have a unique signature that labels them ONE-OFF. To me they are like paintings that cannot be duplicated in real-time. There is a permanent unique signature, like a thumbprint. Like your "All Seeing Eye" gem.
yes agreed
Always a pleasure to watch a master at work. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world, and me.
Imperfectly perfect. Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
This looks good!! I love the color and character of this stone! I know it's not what we all expected, but it's still a beautiful gem!
Thank you
I'm loving the imperfect gems. I tend to gravitate to the unusual, different and the imperfect. This is absolutely beautiful ❤
Justin, you are hilarious, knowledgeable, and creative. I always look forward to your videos.
😊 I love the opening and a g'day to you too Justin.
Morning
What a wonderful blue and green gem! Love the dance 🕺. You crack me up 😂 ❤BOD
The intro king 🙌🏻🔥
Hahahaha
Watching this, I just learned something new. I really didn’t know inclusions like that existed. The Opal still looked beautiful to me, unique, a personality of its own. It’s a gem that will match someone eventually. Thank you for the content sir.
Glad you liked it!
That was the most ideal intro I could ever hope for. Thanks for making me smile today!
Great video! Sorry for the bummer webbing and crack! Thank you for all your work and sharing so much with us. Behind the scenes, I have used you as my Opal sensei and motivator to keep going. My daughter thinks you’re just like me and cracks up when you show your less serious side. Sincerely…thank you! You’ve got a family of fans here! - ❤The Opal Dragon
Glad you enjoyed it! hahah
Good backing music and very good video production by whoever is making them. I've been watching for three years and it's still as interesting as ever.
Thank you 🙏
Just purchased a CabKing and my first parcel of opal. I'm so excited to get started. You've inspired me! Now it's my turn. I'm goin in ;)
Oh! Look at the Broomwork! It's just effortless, poetry in motion :)
😂
I love the webbing, it gives the gem real character and is a one of a kind piece, excellent job!
Always a joy to watch you cut Justin! Thanks for sharing
Web lines may devalue the stone but man they are cool .. I know you wish for perfection but I like it when you show us “when there’s nothing you can do” moments.. it’s part of it
Welcome back wild cleaning Mr Wild Wize Funster named Justin. 😂😂😂 Love how you give yourself permission to unlock the fun mate. Solid Gold Bro'
Watch out Dancing with the Stars... Justin is coming!. Great to see you rapping on, making the moves Justin. This beautiful gem you have cut is lovely, different, the webbing makes it interesting. I love it. Thanks Justin and Black Opal Direct for a great video, producing a stunning and interesting gem .............. until next week......
Thank you again too cat
This gem is characterful. Reminds me of a Landsat-like view of a black river flowing through a cultivated landscape.
Love watching these, and I love your sense of humour. 😊😊😊
I am in LOVE with this gem!!!!!!
This stone would be perfect in a man's signature style ring. It has manly qualities to it. I love that you find such value in such gems! To me, perfection can be contrived, copied, and rather towards the expected. Natural beauty and strength is rare and unexpected!
Such beautiful color in that opal! Love your dancing!
Justin, you've got serious dance mojo!😂
Thanks Justin for another beautiful Opal my friend.....
Shoe🇺🇸
Ah! Not only educational, but entertaining too! Like your moves!
I like this stone. To me I see flower stems and petals in it. Opal is so dreamy!
Another entertaining and sublime journey.
thanks, Team BOD.
Thank you Justin for sharing this with me ! Even with the webbing in the Opal it's very beautiful !
My pleasure!
I think it’s a beautiful stone! The pattern of poch that separates that color is pretty unique. I think it’s a winner for sure!
The fabulous fish scale pattern.. all about branding 😉
Justin , love this opal you saved it!Beautiful colors!
Today’s intro was awesome as well as the music good choice
Loved your hilarious intro 😂. With being a small stone it turned out SOO beautiful even with the webbing. Watching opal being cut is so relaxing. Can’t wait to see your next one.
When we had you on the podcast I meant to ask you what method is best to treat Andamooka Matrix Opal? I’ve been having some trouble with one I’m working.
My toes river danced throughout cutting .
Oh the anticipation !
I would not be mad to receive that little bobble !
I'd wear it ...everyday .
😂😂😂❤️
From the thumbnail, I thought it for sure looked just like a witches hat!
We've seen a small few of those, I remember. I remember your insight from your father too. Haven't finished the video yet but I'm stoked for you either way!
I think the web has made this opal a unique looking thanks for sharing
I absolutely love your videos! Been a fan for as long as I can remember! And my favorite thing about your videos is I get to watch you turn dirty rocks into pretty rocks and it’s very inspiring! You are very talented.
I’d absolutely love to have this one and put it in a nice setting!
I didn't make it many seconds in, before I smashed the like button!
Thank you
I like that stone 👌 the webbing gives it character Your dancing has improved
Even with the webbing that’s still a gorgeous gem Justin. 🎉
Thanks for the jig, Justin! You have so many amazing talents. 👍👍
Haha thank you
Hi Justin, that turned out quite nicely, I wasn’t sure what to expect when you started. Nice piece.
It's like a suspense thriller movie. The anticipation is killing me lol
Hahah sorry
@@blackopaldirect lol no worries. Makes it fun
A lot of pure gems have been duplicated in the lab. So much so that perfect gems are rather common. You are unique as a cutter. You seem to understand that gems SHOULD BE a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. And opal certainly allows you to let us see and own a "Picasso".
I agree with that
@@blackopaldirect I am engaged to be married to my best friend. When the time comes, his wedding ring will be one of your signature designs. He's a big man marrying a wee lil redhead freckle face and needs a substantial wedding ring. I love your manly signature settings!
Web makes it looks aurora-like, which I love
Huge progress in production quality. I like the music.
Good moves in dancing.
When you described the Gemfish at Tucson, it reminded me of a Triplet. I have a cheap light that 1 side of the plug keeps staying in the outlet when I unplug it... and it gets hot... not enough to burn, but I'm going to get a Gemfish when I get the chance (along with the new Scale chart). The USB C charger and water resistance are huge.
Yup, me too.
I totally love some of the opals with inclusions.
It's sad there considered to be crap.
Cut a rug, Justin! I'd dance with you anytime!
Not all nobbies look the same 😂
My heart sank seeing the webbing
Love the special intro!
Justin masterful cutting as always!
Not me smashing that like button in record time!
That intro is epic
That web gives that stone a super cool and unique look like fractured glass!
Stained glass.
Thank you yes agreed
Love the intro!! Watching from Northern Ontario Canada. Love your videos, thanks for taking us on these Opal journeys!! I hope to buy an Opal ring someday they are so beautiful!!
Glad you like them!
Justin, you should call that gem "Northern Lights"
It looks like tiny lightning in the stone so cool .
I love potch! I might not be supposed to, but I do. I love the back of an opal, unpolished 😊 I personally love this one ❤
This is great fun! I love rocks and these gems beat all
I like the stone because the webbing gives it a textured look like a marble piece.
Hi Justin! Learned a lot of watching you. Thanks a lot.Greets, Dirk, Düsseldorf 😂😂
As always Justin u make a bad day much more bearable 😂😎🫡🏴☠️🏴☠️❤️
glad to help Robert
Great video as always! Love your humor 😂
I just heard Justin say "Take it's top off" for like the 50th time and finally got why the people think it's funny. Took me a while but I made it.
awesome cutting and working through it. thank you for sharing the adventure and information.
Glad you enjoyed it!
So pretty. I like the webbing!!!
Beautiful with some nature in it.
I understand that its value dropped from a business perspective, but outside of that? That's a gorgeous stone and that webbing is just part of the artwork. It's organic and beautiful.
Amazing 👏 cut ✂️ 👏
I love the webbing in the stones. I think it really makes them unique. Marketing my friend!! Rare opal with web!
I really like it! It looks like a dragon egg about to hatch 🐣
I like the webbing - it's an interesting addition. And yes, there is a word "inhibitive" that you used correctly! :)
Good to know!
Flaws don't bother me. It just reminds me that nothing in life is perfect but it still can be beautiful!
Love the video great editing. Takes so much time
Here we go,I'm going in
Sweet opening. New meds seem to be working well.
They are! 🥴
Nice moves Jason
That one is really pretty!!! I like the unique stones! Like a blue line in iron stone that looks like lightning is one of my fav types of opal!!! Very hard to find one with the thin lines of bright blue too.. but soo cool hehehee
