THE Ministry of Agriculture in Sesheke has intensified farmer engagements ahead of
the 2024/2025 agricultural season.
This is through Seed Fairs that have been held in all the 13 Agricultural Camps of the
District.
Speaking at the Ngweze Agricultural Camp Seed Fair, District Extension Methodologist,
DANIEL NAMPAKA urged farmers to consider planting landraces, unlike only
depending on hybrid seed.
MR. NAMPAKA says seeds in circulation within communities will help secure food
security among small-scale farmers in light of the negative effects of Climate Change.
Some farmers who benefited from this activity were pleased to have learned about early
planting, crop diversification, food security issues, and interaction among themselves
and with agro-dealers.
These activities were held with support from the Strengthening Climate Resilience of
Agricultural Livelihoods in Agro-Ecological Regions I and II in Zambia (SCRALA), a
