I gathered GREAT ideas on how to "think", and categorize differently for MPC from this video. Thank you kindly Zyper !
+Wilson Simon thanks man :) part 2 & 3 are out on my youtube channel :)
Hey Zyper, the english word you were looking for is "Countdown"
Thanks for the great starter tutorial. looking forward to the more advanced stuff ^_^
Hi Zyper. Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge. I am starting to become a maestro at work because of you. Thanks a lot!
Crazy man ! Keep it forward all the best for 2018
Thank you so much for sharing, appreciate your hard work, now I understand how mpc works!
thanks man ! Have fun with MPC
its so cool dude..... i learned a lot thanks
Top Stuff Zyper! Let there be Lights! :)
Hey Zyper, one of the best tutorials on the M-PC. Thanks. Do you invert your stage left and right fixtures when patching? Or is there some other trick to invert their pan/tilt? I didn't see you put the invert in this video.
Dear Benji,
I invert the FX movement. Did you check part.2 and part.3 ?
I only went through 2 and 3 briefly. So you don't normally use the invert pan tilt feature in the patch window?
No, that's only if the fixture are not hanging in the same order.
I have movement where they all go the same way and some movement chere they are inverted so it really depend on what I want to dot.
Hey Man, not sure if you're still messing with Onyx, but v5 is coming and we could use another content creator in the Onyx World...
Hi and thanks for good tutorial, done everything right but still cant light up any lights on that visualiser?? They appears there right but nothing happens when adding sensitivity etc.........
zyper world, I have the most current versions of M-PC and MSD6 Demo (as of March 2018) neither of which sync with your tutorial. I can live with the MPC differences but having the correct MSD6 Demo file is integral to getting through your tutorials. If, I understand you correctly, what you're saying, in an early reply to a post, is to load (patch) the fixtures per your tutorial (the old M-PC Training show file) into the MSD6 Demo file. So I must first take the MSD tutorials to learn how to patch into that program, then come back and take your M-PC tutorials. It's not a problem, I just want to be sure of what the best place to start is and the right direction to go. Since I've made the commitment to M-PC, I am wondering... should I make the jump to a paid version of MSD6, will it make it easier down the road when I'm programming my own stuff? Your tutorials are inspirational and I am ever so grateful for you and others who give thier knowledge so freely! Thank you!
Hi Mitch,
A lot of stuff has changed since my tutorial. But it still work. Main change is that the MSD demo file is a bit different. But it work exactly the same, just apply the patch that is on the lighthouse website and patch those fixtures in MPC instead of the one I'm using in the video.
Once that done you can do everything the same way with Free MPC & Demo MSD.
Don't hesitate to contact me directly if you have any other problem : contact@zyper.fr
Hey Zyper, I know you do a pretty advance level of lighting design as seen in this video but I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction for a a cheap dmx controller to control some lower quality American dj/Chauvet lighting. Thanks a bunch if you or anyone else can help!
+willie edgerly look at the M-touch from martin, cheap controller but professional software
zyper world thanks hyper I'll give it a look
Zyper, I had 6 Old Pars for my Downstage lighting, but I've sold them and have purchased 6 newer Pars in their place. What I'm trying to achieve is delete the old fixtures from the patch and then add the new pars into the patch. After I get them in, I want to go through all of my programmed scenes and program the new pars into existing scenes. Any help?
Shane Burtch swatch ;)
Select the fixture in the patch and replace it with the new fixture.
You should keep them programed. Mpc will adapt the new fixture to the old programs
Hi !
Please, tell me I can use only free MPC with M-Touch ? Or i need to buy M-DMX ? Thank you.
+Ionut Safta Yes, the M-touch use the free liscence as it has only one DMX output
Zyper, I have done the instructions, in my MSD, however, I am able to see the fixtures when chosen, but the programmer seem not to be in effect e.g. changes in intensity are not shown in the MSD for a selected fixture. Do you know a solution for it?
Fixed it :) DMX has to be ON!
you are great
I've tried everything and nobody wants to help, but, when I open MSD 6 all it does is makes a single fixture flash randomly. I've asked people about it and nobody wants to help and google is no help. I've spent the last hour trying to get it to work but it won't work. I'm out of options and about to give up. Please help.
Hey,
If you are on MSD6 it's not the same patch. They have update the demo version and add new fixtures.
Checkout www.lighthouse.nl/download.php?dlfId=1590
Just need to add different fixtures and DMX Adress, all the rest of the tutorial stay the same ;)
