BTW: Your hair is always growing but it may seem like its not growing because your not retaining length. BUT because not many people have heard of the phrase “length retention” I just used the idea of your hair “not growing” to make it searchable
isopropyl alcohol is typically used as a solvent for other ingredients but that doesn't mean it can't dry out the hair. Alcohol denat is denatured alcohol which can also dry out the hair as it is typically in products that dry quickly.
@@Bigheadjusticehi! i have a question. i’m trying to grow my hair but i have heat damage in some parts of my hair. when you started taking care of and growing out your hair did you get a big chop or not?
Chicago born and raised. My hair flourished in the cold environment way more than the south. I was also drinking a crap ton of water back then too, so my hair really grew to the middle of my back in one year. It was a definite learning curve when I got to the south 😂 maybe cuz I’m high porosity 3c/4a. My curls love water, a thick moisturizing cream, and oil
I only use pure castor oil and aloe vera for my natural 4B/4C hair and scalp and it becomes thicker and longer. I also comb my hair 3 times a week, wash it once a month and never use heat. It grows very fast.
The ponytails definitely damaged my hair, specifically the front. I’m a straight natural now and that works much better for me. My hair is down to my bra strap.
Lil correction here: the alcohol is used to clean and give a stable consistency to the product. Not to "moist". Is to give the clean effect and feeling.
I was someone that blew out my hair before every protective style, I didn’t realize how much damage I was doing my hair… I haven’t done so since March because of your videos and I’m really proud of myself. I really thought I had to do it just to put a style and I was so wrong!
Thank you for this! I'm someone who eats sweets and junk food a lot (I'm a teen, and i usually go buy sweets or something after school), and i don't drink water often. I also like in the UK, which is usually cold and only hot in the summer. I was already aware that this wasn't good for my hair/myself, and I wasn't getting enough vitamin D because of it, but i didn't think much of it bc i can't change where i live rn. Plus, i do my edges every weekday for skl 😭. But this video has inspired me to try and make a change. Tbh, i not only need to better my diet for my hair but also my health. It'll be kinda hard for me to stop doing my edges bc i have a big forehead, and i prefer to do my edges because of that, and i just prefer to do it - but I'll try to take care of my edges more. I'll also try to watch what i eat more and stop spending so much on junk food - i need to save money anyway 😂😅. I'll also try and drink more water💧because the environment i live in already isn't humid, and i realise that it isn't good for me, especially at my age. I probably have some vitamin deficiencies, but I'll just try to take some multivitamins. Thanks 💗 😊 🫶🏿🫶🏿

So glad that I found your channel. I have been natural for about 10 years and have gone through a lot of frustration on my natural journey. I was actually thinking about relaxing my hair because I am just really tired of trying product after product without any long term success. Such a good tips! I used to struggle with keeping my natural hair healthy and growing. One thing that really helped was adding biotin capsules to my routine. I realized my diet was lacking, and it was affecting my hair. Since taking biotin from nutraharmony, my hair is stronger and growing longer than ever. Sometimes natural supplements help a lot❤

My hair was thriving in college. I ate a healthy-ish diet (unfortunately healthier than my diet at home), drank tons of water, and unintentionally exercised. I walked to most of my classes up to a certain point at campus. For example, if my class was within a 20-minute walk from my dorm/ library/ next class, I'd walk because that was about the cycle of the campus buses. I could get there before the bus.

The mother of one of my friends has thick, coily 3a hair. For a long time, my friend was convinced she just didn't inherit the good hair genetics, because her hair would only curl at the ends and droop sadly in the lengths and towards the scalp. It looked like she had no volume at all, and she was actually getting bald spots and pretty bad hair loss. She attributed this to stress and health problems. Her hair was much thicker and coilier when she was younger, and she didn't know what to do. Until she moved back home - and realized that one of the main problems had been the hard water in the city. Now, coupled with a trim, she finally has her beautiful thick black curls back. Her scalp is also much healthier and less prone to greasiness. Hi, I have been on my natural hair journey for years now and i'm still struggling with one thing, my scalp. I'm gaining length okay and I wouldn't think it is damaged, but I find myself clipping a lot trying to rid myself of the knots.
I notice that women wear their hair out exposing it to the climates that fry out or frizz our hair. I believe wearing a head cover while your hair is processing the oils and moisture u pour into the strands is essential

I have 3c and 4c curls my hair takes water all the time my hair is chest length almost bra strap length i tend to check my products before buying stuff that could damage my hair i live in Sacramento California and it's 115 degrees here 😂
I personally don’t use edge controls too much, maybe once a month. Plus theyre usually alot thicker but if ur ONLY using edge control on ur edges then you should be fine! Just dont use it every single day, it can cause tugging on the hairline

Guys similar thing to what she said, as someone who has a grandma that studied cosmetology ONLY use gel for very pretty hairstyles. Think about it like this, our hair is a tube so when we use gel the gel can go through the holes and it will go deeper to the poin where it will clog the scalp and it will cause breakage and it might just make your hair stop producing hair, SO PLEASE dont use gel just to do little things! 🫶
Soo I got a relaxer at the age of 7/8 and my hair has never been the same since I keep growing straight hair from scalp on both sides of my hair only while it’s my normal texture everywhere else. I cut it multiple times but it keeps growing back. I wanna shave it but my mom says no 🤦🏽♀️
I have very curly hair so this was helpful.
I bought a shower filter and love it. I can tell the difference in my skin.
ripped my hair out of a ponytail immediately 😭
Beautiful hair, my hair falls like yours ❤
Question: does keeping your hair twisted or in braids protect it more than if you keep it natural?
Edit: you probably answered this in this video, I just watch your shorts and haven’t watched any videos I apologize.
I’ve seen you from TikTok!!!
And here i was thinking slick back ( like Drakes with the halo braid on the sides) was easier on my hair than braids. Now im confused.
Your hair is so beautiful- i am not sure what products to use . My hair is mix with different texture i buy so many products. Please give me some tips.
I have 3c and 4c curls my hair takes water all the time my hair is chest length almost bra strap length i tend to check my products before buying stuff that could damage my hair i live in Sacramento California and it's 115 degrees here 😂
Since gels aren't good what about edge controls??? Do they also break hair
I personally don’t use edge controls too much, maybe once a month. Plus theyre usually alot thicker but if ur ONLY using edge control on ur edges then you should be fine! Just dont use it every single day, it can cause tugging on the hairline
9:13 blowing out my hair broke off my hair every time I got it very long 😂 ima stop using heat completely and stop using a comb 😭
Oh my goodness, you look like a Cardi B. A real natural beautiful verson.
Thanks for reminding me to take my MSM! 😩
what products do you use if you don’t mind me asking? would you recommend “As I am”
I’m gonna try the products and get back to ya on that
Omg, I live in a hot dry climate in the summer but very cold in the winter, and my hair does not seem to grow as fast as it used to before I moved there.
