The reason it X-rays is because it acts like a non-transparent block but it is transparent. The reason why this happens is because blocks are not like, they are always there, so they show the texture that can be seen and and the parts you can’t see is set to Invisible. Blocks like glass shows the block behind it, however, grass does not. Though, this X-ray block, acts like a block like grass, but it’s invisible like barriers. Edit: how did I get a lot of likes I’m surprised lol and I don’t even play Minecraft that much

Yeah barrier block is invisible block at code but that is invisible from texture and why i say that because whean create texture pack with invisible texture that create xray block btw i play this game for 7 years(at tomorrow its getting to 8 years lol) and i know something like every thing in that game

Its because if minecraft loads all of the sides of a block that can't be seen there would be lots of lag so those sides aren't there so ig the block he showd is counted as an opaque block so the sides can be seen through
i saw this block WAAAAAAY earlier when i used to play on bootleg minecrafts, and install mod packs, and when i didnt have that modern block, that just replaces it. it looked so weird to young me.

Actually, he is in an old version because that block appears when a block is removed on an update, like the "locked" chest, when it was removed that thing appeared and not the actual object, bedrock

no, the update texture is a placeholder texture, also locked chest didn't exist on mc bedrock

The invisible bedrock used to have the same xray thing in pocket edition like 5 or 6 years ago. I remember making bases where I can see outwards and no one can see inside using it. Fun times lol
this is an unloaded block (AKA: a placeholder for unseen blocks) and you'd see it all the time in unloaded chunks and underneath your feet.
If you've ever gone in sectator mode in Java, you were looking at those blocks (or another variation). They are also what allow X-Rays to work.

@@khiemgom no it doesnt make any textures invisible, block (sides) are only being rendered when there are no neighbour blocks, in other words, when a stone block has a block on all its sides, it wont be rendered to reduce polygon count, and thus, the game runs alot faster.

Can you do some research into nameless glitch items with no consistent texture? They've appeared twice before when an item has an invalid/nonexistent ID but I'm really curious to know what they really are and why they happen.
well basicly they only have a item texture and no block texture but they are a normal full block so when you place them they are invisible and the reason why you can see thruw other blocks is because minecraft only renders textures witch you can see but it thinks this block is a full block and you can't see thruw so it doesn't render the textures from the other blocks

Its a new block which they (mojang) added, so if you have updated a old version world (or any version exept 1.18) then you might see some chunks go missing or just they don't visibly appear and the reason why it happens is that game tries to read the chunk data and see iff its a old chunk or a new one so it can generate the new 1.18 mountain generation and so mojang added that block its not meant for xray but that works so yea

I still remember when invisible bedrock let you see through blocks like that block.

on early pocket edition, in like around 0.12, if you placed a block that was only available from this version and beyond and went back a version, the blocks that are not there yet will be replaced with the block in the video, but with actual texture
I call that block x ray block and i also obtained that block last month by using inventory editor btw nice video
I know this block for long time, it's used to replace blocks in any shape(including 2d objects)that are not included in version you play on, you can do this by making world and then downgrade version and play in it(this my not work but it worked in older versions*)

if you want a one sided window heres another way *WITHOUT* mods (in java)
1.make a wall of barriers
2.type this code */give @p item_frame{EntityTag:{Invisible:1b}}*
3. place these invisible item frames on the barriers
4.make a map with a design or a solid colour. this will be the how the side you cant see through looks
5.put these maps in the item frame
then your done! you can see through completely the side without the maps and on the other side, you can only see the maps and the deign on these

If you max your FOV, go windowed, F5, and strafe into a wall you can x-ray, both on Java and Bedrock.

That block is the unloaded chunk block.
Basically a placeholder for a block that the server hasn't loaded yet.
Basically unloaded chunks are bade of that.

I discovered this in a minecraft version from years ago. So yes i do know about the xray block for quite a while too. It was nicknamed the xray block due to this sort of effect. You could not break it once you placed it because at that time you could not switch a survival world to creative to actually break it. There was also no commands at that time too, just chat. So i could not remove it that way. Till way later when i could do so i did. This block has been in the game for years now on minecraft bedrock. As i discovered this block when minecraft bedrock was called minecraft pocket edition. I actually forgot about this block and it is still in the game apparently.

I had that block in an old world had on switch because a random block was that but it had the texture in your hotbar I also found it when I put a ton of mods on the game and when I went mining there was a lot of just that block and I kept one as a trophy.

I may be wrong but I believe that is the block that was originally at the bottom of the world in pocket edition there would be bedrock then underneath that would be one layer of this block making it possible to see underground from underneath the world (perhaps it was in early versions of Java as well but I didn’t play for the first 4 or 5 years of Minecraft’s existence so I have no idea) I remember experimenting with it a lot in pocket though… it’s quite a fun block!

How do I get this block on Minecraft Bedrock Edition? This seems like something that can be really useful for map making! Same with Invisible Bedrock and the other secret bocks. Please make a video on this or give some sort of tutorial. This would really make my day! :D

Invisible bedrock is actually a barrier in old version of minecraft pe. Because once you place a barrier, you cant break it and your stuck with it.
you can do a fill command too replace it with air though

I took a made a mod exactly like this when I was a kid. It was an Xray block you crafted with 5 diamonds and glass.
This is also block which come when u play in mobile with 2g ram when u travel too fast for game to load

It is when minecraft forgets to render blocks on realms, so it is just invisible or it it a nonexiste one using the bedrock server stuff, as a belief.

this might be true but in an april fools update there was infinite dimensions and in some there were items that dont exist like for example a netherite stair
I still remember i can place end portal with that block
A few years ago you could teleport to about 1000000 ~ 1000000 and you would just be falling forever, stuck in a 1x1 area surrounded by those blocks
Don't know if it's still possible with these coordinates but it should be if you teleport far enough
Those blocks are just normal grass or other biome blocks, minecraft just breaks at that point because it's so far out it does that.
I saw this block in my Minecraft world and wondered what it was
the placeholder block acts like a block without a texture where we can see through it but the game still thinks solid block, the non textured side is caused by what I believe to be how Minecraft makes blocks you cant see not render (most likely for performance) but the invisible bedrock is treated as a transparent block so light can travel through and textures don't disappear, but the placeholder block is treated as a solid block. therefor the texture disappears because usually there would not be a transparent solid block. if you read my little rant on why i think this happened ty! ill be goin off to explore yt once again now. edit (after i write my comment i see someone else came to the same conclusion in the comments)
