- It's World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler vs. fellow Team TaylorMade member Tommy Fleetwood in the Fargiveness challenge on hole no. 18 at Riviera. The twist to this challenge is that both golfers have to MISS the center of their Stealth 2 Driver. Each player gets three shots and picks the best drive of the three, then plays the hole from there. Not tryna hate here, but you have 2 professionals with perfect swings who could use a junior women’s driver and be just fine.. the real test of “fargiveness” would be testing this theory out with 2 high handicap players which I would assume wouldn’t be as far and accurate with there mishits lol
No driver is a magic wand and it’s not supposed to fix your swing. A bad shot will be a bad shot whatever driver you use, it’s basically making the misses slightly smaller is what they’re trying to accomplish. Whether they do it better than other companies - I don’t know, but all the driver can do is maybe help your shot in 5%, 95% is still on the player and the golf swing.
Just like golf balls, you need to be able to swing at a high enough level to be able to notice a difference in forgiveness between clubs. A high handicap player will shank with any driver regardless of which part of the face makes contact with the ball
I think they should get a baseline when they make dead center contact and then compare that to any off center strikes. The consistency in numbers from a larger area of the face is what TM and all these OEMs are striving for.
That’s cause people like you think a driver can fix a bad swing path and not just face contact. If you swing out to in you’re going to have a fade or slice even if you make a center strike
They can obviously hit junior woman’s driver as well as any other driver, but some drivers would have much higher spin rates and lose a lot of distance from off center strikes. So the point they’re trying to make is not that this driver will make bad golfers play good, but that it’ll offer similar performance wherever you hit it on the face.
@@oxfordbambooshootify that’s also true. Once you have a consistent swing/ball speed etc you can start comparing drivers, before that it won’t make much of a difference. If they had 30 handicappers test this driver the data would be so inconsistent you wouldn’t be able to distinguish between this and most other drivers from last 20 years. And it wouldn’t mean that they’re all the same it would just mean that they’re the wrong target to test it on.

I hit so many great drivers missing the center !! High shots off the toe can really carry a long way.

Spraying that footspray stuff on the driver faces....not that easy to clean off with the grippy nanotexture surface. Had problems with using that stuff last year.
BTW, Stealth 2 Plus is where it's at for 2023.

Every TaylorMade driver I've had the hottest spot is just above the center. It kills spin n launches super hi. I'd of liked to see one of these guys hit one out of that spot!

@@ethanmcdermott2599 Because 1080p has been out for almost 17 years and technology has vastly improved in that time. Also Taylormade employ a professional film crew.
The boys over at Good Good and BDS are pumping out 2160p videos weekly with amateur camera operators and editors.

Love the looks of the stealth 2’s. Can’t wait to hit them and will probably at least buy the driver… This forgiveness thing though, not so sure about that tag line lol.
I'd just buy the stealth 1 as its less than half the price and has v little difference
Be sure to try it without the foot spray lol. That’s probably contributing to the forgiveness in this video

I tried stealth 2 last weekend at my fitting.. I think the 'fargiveness' thing (dumb as it sounds) is semi-true. Its forgiving in the sense that on mishits, the thing has serious power. I had some shots where I missed totally, to the point where I almost missed the face, and could still get 280-300 total distance. On the other hand, its not forgiving at all in terms of direction, which I think was the OG Stealth's big problem and its what we've seen in the reviews on the internet. I have a feeling it may have to do with the head shape and slightly smaller face than what you see in more forgiving drivers - Stealth 2 is my favorite looking driver on the market by far, and I really wanted to love it, but I just couldn't hit it straight enough. Ending up going with Rogue ST cuz it still can bomb the ball, was way more forgiving for me (directionally), and is significantly cheaper than Paradym.
So you 'almost missed the face' further than world number 1 Sheffler when he is hitting it just off centre? cool

There are thousands of golfers that hit it further than Scottie. It’s not exactly that unbelievable to think he hits it further

Instead of me trying to hit the sweet spot, I’m going to try not hitting the sweet spot, fail, and be amazing at golf. Lol😂
I could happily compete with the tour pros. When it comes to not hitting the centre that is.
This just shows when Pros do miss the centre of the face they are usually only missing it by mm and not as much as an amateur. :-D

Just wanted to comment and say how easy of a challenge this would be for me. If you ever need an expert at non center contact on the club face.. hit me up!
What people don’t understand even if they are hitting off the heel and the toe they have the head squared up and it will still turn out better the. The regular weekend golfers who always leave the face open on the toes or shuts it off the heel. People say twistface doesn’t work but even without twistface or bulge and roll you gotta have a square face at impact but 95% weekend golfers can’t tell what they are doing in their own swing or able to feel if the face was shut or not or even feel the center of the face. so when they buy these drivers and it still slices it’s the golfer and their swing not the club. They are jus not as good as they truly are and hate to admit it cause they have egos and wear their golf clothes even off the course lol
I'm not certain but to me my TM M6 is so forgiving it's not even funny...I tried the STEALTH 2 yesterday...had that with my 4 year M6...Look to me the acoustics and aesthetics are the on difference...I still hit my M6 just as long as the STEALTH.
I also use a 14 Year old TOUR EDGE EXOTICS driver that I hit just as long as these "Latest/Longer Drivers"

what we dont consider a lot of people are comming new to the game, and if you get fit you arnt getting an old driver. they dont have an old driver that this isnt hitting further than.
