Man I'm still thumping this song. I was in TPA back when I was 19 and can relate to this so much. God protected me from some crazy stuff, playing that scarface game like a fool. And yeah, I had a duffle bag in the back of a 72 Lemans.
To the people who don't understand this song...or are asking what is the point/message...or are trying to find its relevance to Christ: Listen to the Intruder EP. Listen to The One. Listen to Real Ones. Or just listen to what he says in this song: "But the places are at war with everything I've become..." This is where Alex WAS at a point in his life. C'mon people!
90% of the people in these comments 100% missed the point of this song. No one actually listens to lyrics anymore, apparently. Smh, sad. Anyway, this is a great song. I'll have to check the rest of the project out.
Them all caps 116ers are some of the most ruthless people on UA-cam. They can't wait to call you an apostate. Just make a low JPM song and they'll rip you apart. For them it doesn't matter that Ki'shon's repping Christ in the darkest of places, or that Alex Faith's got three albums full of the gospel, they're just sitting on their keyboards thinking "Oooh, you done messed up now, boy!"
Filip Suciu I used to be one of the 116ers but now I rep for of GOMer (God Over Money). GOM goes hard. They are more bold in showing their fair What matters is that we live for JESUS CHRIST.
I'm afraid this is turning into Bloods vs Crips or something. The way people are choosing "teams" like it's some sport is spiritually immature. Last year everyone was #sameteam on every comment now we're back to tearing each other apart. Guess unity in Christ is a fad too, huh?
Filip Suciu A lot of people say that GOM is more Christian than Reach as if either label has beef with each other. Bizzle has collaborated with Reach several times, both of them respect the other. They just have different paths. I agree, the team mentality in CHH is sad.
the beat iz on fire. ..care lezz bout da lyrics. ..i close my eyes and make up my own in Jesus name and the same dope beat that hits just as hard as you know it...
you guys gotta realize that he is writing this referring to a time period in his life...it's hip hop, he's telling a story, if you don't know anything but Christian hip hop, then you wouldn't get that it's an art of creating stories to share. because he explicitly doesn't say Jesus Jesus Jesus in this song does not mean that it's heathenistic like listen to the whole album and see if Alex Faith glorifys God, and he ain't gonna be perfect, cause I'm sure that I'm not the greatest at glorifying God in all I do, he's human will never live up to expectations so let it go. not really a huge problem for anyone, just go about your life, striving to glorify Jesus and do your best to live for him. Thank you.
Yes! Amen! Lol. Crazy how we're are all easy to comment without really trying to understand the song first, evaluating it, digging deep. But I guess it's also good that people are on the look out. But yea. :) they say it in the song's verses. It's what they used to do. So testimony. :)
Like the song, I going to come out with a bag. My bag will be filled with Bibles ,tracks ,oi l, Followers of the Way t-shirts ect. I know that's what you mean too. Love you both. Bless you both in your future work.
it would of been nice if they went around the blocks deal hope to all the youth on the corners that were dealing I was hoping to see them pull bibles out of the duffel bag !!
oh my gosh...you have to listen to it first. Why not re-evaluate it first or keep on re-evaluating. Alex faith raps how he used to use substance of the world like smoking, drinking. Their past life. Watch kishon furlow's rap battles. He & street hymns rap about real stuff while they minister to people. When most of the guys/youth think it's cool to be hood, gangsta, rap about guns. Kishon & Street talks about their friends dying in the streets, family. Little rock, arkansas where Kishon was from. So yea. I believe this song is sharing their testimony in a cool way & not too churchy words/verses :) Grace & peace!
I am a youth pastor just a few miles north of 8 mile in Detroit and this kind of stuff is the only christian hip hop that my students want to hear. They hear lecrae and they aint into it, they hear trip lee and they aint into it. I put on these dudes and they feel it and they ask me where they can hear more like it. It resonates with them because it speaks to where they come from. And even if church people dont always hear the ministry in it, trust me...it's there. These students pick up on it and they hear the message loud and clear.
Fire!!!!!!! Real!!!!! This is when the rappers/artist rap about real story, true stuff even if it's about their past. All the fake, pretentious stuff can #getghost! Aha. Seriously. You just know it's real even in kishon's rap battles. When all the other dudes just talk it & pixar's imaginary gun bars. Haha! smh
I WISH PEOPLE WOULD NOT GET SO LITERAL AND UNDERSTAND LIKE WORLDY MUSIC HAS A MESSAGE THERE. THESE GUYS HAVE THERE MESSAGE. AND NO THEY ARE NOT PERFECT. LISTEN CLEARLY.
This is just a song. No powerful movement. Like it aint bad but the reason i stopped listen to main stream is because they are all songs. Tell me why your past doesnt define you. Give me a reason to connect with you regardless if im christian or not
the beat iz on fire. ..care lezz bout da lyrics. ..i close my eyes and make up my own in Jesus name and the same dope beat that hits just as hard as you know it...
Who's listening in 2024?? I miss Alex Faith & his lyrical prowess
yeah me for sure, alex faith was amazing and so was kishon...goated era fr, with the craziest collabs...
The chorus has one of the strongest rhyming sequences I have heard in a long time. Hats off to Alex and Ki'Shon.
This has to be one of the sickest hooks this year.
HANDS DOWN...

People who get upset at Christian artists who don't explicitly say Jesus forget that there is a book in the Bible that doesn't mention God

Point. Is there one to this song?
Elijah Kingdom I guess the point is to show off talent and let their HOOD know they are "cool" Christians.????
Does anyone have the lyrics to this? This is awesome.
"I got a middle finger to the haters..." What has Christian rap become?
He's always rapped like that though. It ain't new from him. Ruslan, John Givez, Bizzle amongst others.
He's talking about a time in his life, that's not a statement that the new Alex would make.
A Rock Badger Christian lol it would now
What happen to you guys
DB Ghost116 exactly.... I can't flow with this
Yeah I'm not feeling it. Its not "good music" its just music. Just my opinion.
i still support them

"Middle finger to the haters" I'm going to be yelling that in my church! Thanks!
Abram Uribe Christian Rap doesn't always necessarily have to be about God. Christian rap is pretty much rap without cursing, drugs, sex, etc.
I am a youth pastor just a few miles north of 8 mile in Detroit and this kind of stuff is the only christian hip hop that my students want to hear. no substance of Jesus Christ......please tell me what this song means
why don't you figure it out yourself instead of waiting to be spoon-fed answers.
This is just a song. No powerful movement. Like it aint bad but the reason i stopped listen to main stream is because they are all songs. Tell me why your past doesnt define you. Give me a reason to connect with you regardless if im christian or not
