The quads you just featured in the video look like absolute boss Hogs! They are absolutely beautiful. I’m sure you’re gonna get a lot of good videos this summer.
Thank you for doing this test. This really helps me to understand RF a little bit better. I still haven’t gone out to do any of the ridgebacks or cliffs that I talked crap about lol. It’s been snow or crowds on the trails that have stopped me lol.
I have always had a hard time understanding latency. I get it from an intellectual perspective, but the “how does it make a difference?” part has not been easy to see when someone else is flying. It was interesting to see that the dji video was much better, but your flying was much better with the hdzero. You could almost feel the difference in your confidence. I get it now. Thanks.
yea this is what I felt. But have to note that I am currently way more used to analog/hdzero latency than DJI latency, so that is mainly why I think. I am sure that if I spent a whole day flying DJI it would be fine again
@@GeKoFPV there are definitely dji equipped professional rippers on the video thingies... I feel no love at all from the dji, don't really think they're ' bad, m' kay?' just prefer to vote (for something I believe in) with my wallet when possible
great comparison im flying hdzero for freestyle and its feels so nice to fly i got the micro v3 cam which ist a pretty big quality boost compared to the nano 90 for freestyle i like it more than the nano 90 although you get a little bit more latency its still way better latency wise than other digital systems
Excellent comparison! Something about HDZero just bothers me. The goggle image soft, and I don't love the way it seems to go from solid to unflyable without a lot of warning. I've been flying DJI since the V2's were released, and I'm so torn on going to Walksnail for it's small VTX's. The DJI O3's are expensive but also seem good enough to let you get by without a separate camera. Ditching weight does wonders for responsiveness.
I had the same impression a while ago. I was using HDZero goggles mostly for analog (which I love weirdly enough). I only had the small 200 mW HDZero VTXes and the breakup was really pretty annoying. Ever since this freestyle VTX and the nano 90 cam though, I have fallen in love with it. Something about the feeling of flying this cam really does it.
if its any help i have a couple quads with 03s 6in which carries a full sized gp12 for long range, never used the 03 to recored until yesterday with my 3in cinewhoop. used to get around 8 mins of flight with a caddx vista (not recording) after upgrading the the 03 i'm now getting just over 5 mins while recording with the 03 using 1100 and 1380 lipos. just got a 2s acrobee75 with an 03 that i haven't had the time to test
I n0w fly exclusively HDZero. I tried Walksnail, but will sell my WS stuff. Have Mobula 7 whoop upgraded with nano v3, MrCroc 5" with freestyle V1 and Micro V2, Hook V2 with freestyle V2 and Micro V3, and AOS 3.5 with race V3 and Nano90. Havent tried DJI, but I guess experience is similar to WS.
yea I can imagine, sadly I dont really have bandos around here to try. However will take both these quads to rampage and see how it goes haha. I wouldnt be surprised if a powerful analog vtx like rush tank solo would do OK in a bando / better than HDzero. The breakup is more gradual on analog. Otherwise just DJI for concrete stuff.
@@GeKoFPV yes I have flown rush solos and rush tanks in bandos they do fine. It's actually what Pablo Flor aka Fenix runs and he does fine in bandos. And awesome man I'll see you there! I have dji g2 with 03s and the goggles X and the walksnail pro and moonlight is on the way we could make a video covering alllll of them
I bet if you used the Fpvcycle 25mm smooth ones would be of a better comparison with the rcinpower on 6s. Just my opinion, was a great comparison video. After flying analog for the past 6 years and only now diving into DJI digital set up. Analog is still extremely fun, yet digital FPV systems with the crystal clear video signal is just WOW 😳
Yeaa the two quads didnt have identical motors thats true. But they are pretty close. FPVcycle 22.6 vs RCinpower 2306.5, KV is also quite close. As far as I know RCinpower makes the FPVcycle motors also... thanks!
I've been flying for 7 or 9 months. I'd like to spend some time flying HDZero. On first impression, I hate the they don't have on-board DVR and I hate the digital snow. I primarily fly DJI Goggles 2 O3 and Cobra X w/Analog. I have one Vista quad that I fly the least. Maybe I'll decide on another HD goggle before end of year, but I'm pushing it off for now.
I kind of wish I would have gone a different route then DJI because it’s getting very expensive! The 03 air units aren’t cheap and I can’t just buy a small tiny whoop to mess with because my Goggles 2 won’t work with the analog cameras! Yet I do get very good quality when flying my DJI 03 quads.
Yea image quality for sure - I also have a O3 quad. But I dont like the camera very much, it keeps shadows too dark for my taste in freestyle (speaking as a FPV cam, its great for nice looking footage). Vista is more fun to fly for me, but just personal taste :)
HD zero breakup is static in the image that you can see through. DJI breakup just drops frames (fps) not as good for FPV but for slow camera drones it's good
@@lordjeffery10 yes but dji still has way more penetration and its way more reliable. theres a difference in getting blurry image or getting your screen completely static. i have both and use hdzero only for racing, not even freestyle. the breakups are crazy and not predictable, unlike dji. plus if u already have dji goggles u can get a runcam wasp for better framerate
Hmmm, you do realize that just to get the HDZero goggles it's $600 + about $100 for antennas + about $25 for a battery + the analog adapter, etc. Around $800 just for goggles! Most can't afford that! Or, don't want to, because the video quality is so close to the VERY BEST analog! Now, don't go comparing to the cheap analog gear - there's a huge difference between a top of the line Caddx Ratel and RushFPV top VTX, and low end analog gear for $10 - $20 each piece. Probably why HDZero only has about 10% market share - Too expensive for the slight extra sharpness you get over Analog. DJI, brand new, can be had for $349 for the DJI Integra goggles with antennas and a battery built in - Complete! DJI V2 goggles, that also do a fantastic analog with a simple URUAV metal adapter, can be purchased in Like New, near perfect condition for under $300. A Caddx Vista with the Wasp 120fps camera is $139.99, So, even if you want to buy all brand new gear, $349 goggles + $140 Wasp VTX + $140 Wasp VTX + $140 Wasp VTX = $769 and you've equipped THREE of your quads to go fly far with crystal clear video! Much farther - By many, Many times, and without all that Analog2 snow and Rainbow Screen of Death! Fly up into thick tree canopies and out the other side, fly into a thick forest - seeing every little bit of scraggle, and back out, and around any and all objects like a building, which Analog2 (HDZero) can't even fly 50ft. past the first corner of a building without DEATH! The penetration difference is the Maximum spread possible! Least penetration with Analog2 and most (by far) with DJI. There's really no comparison!... Especially when it comes to durability! DJI is almost bulletproof, with many never having a single defective or burnout. I haven't. Analog2 has VTX's fail so often some have reported having to give up on it all together because they've spent so much on VTX's they can't afford to buy anymore - burnout after burnout! Terrible durability! If you are on tight budget just stay with Analog and go with the GREAT GEAR instead of the bargain basement analog gear! Go try it - Buy a top of the line Ratel and a top of the line RushFPV VTX with high power and then compare it to many Analog2 (HDZero) videos available. You'll see that Analog is 90% as good as Analog2, but a Gigantic amount cheaper and more durable! Sure, Analog2 is slightly sharper, but for ALL THAT MONEY? No way, Jose! :( I think it's the worst VALUE in all of FPV because you get so little improvement in performance over plain ole Analog, for ALL THAT MONEY, it's simply not worth it! 🤷♂
