because in korea and other asian countries in general, showing a lot of skin is taboo. So seeing the female body exposed so much you can appreciate it more
to be fair..that's all those "bikini try on hauls" or whatever they're called are for, just models looking sexy with 95% male viewers and maybe 5% of female viewers actually wanting to see how the clothing looks and fits
This makes me remember when I went to a waterpark in Kyoto a few years back and I wore my normal bikini and sat in the sun, I got so many looks (especially from parents) 😅 I didn't even think about it since it was just a boring bikini I'd worn for a few years until I took off my swimsuit cover and noticed people looking -- I definitely gave some people culture shock that day lol
"I always think how can I make my body look better when I'm wearing a swimsuit or underwear,". It's the same in the US, but IMHO in Western culture you wear certain styles to express yourself by accentuating your strengths, not hiding your insecurities. /You/ wear the clothes, not the other way around. Through Western eyes, people who let the clothes wear them (if they aren't models being paid to do it) can come off as unauthentic or easily swayed by trends instead of being secure in themselves and having their own style.
I do agree Though wearing what’s on trend isn’t necessarily a bad thing. There are trends for a reason which create culture and fashion that shape an era of time.
@@Bombasschick98 I agree as well, I love a good trend! I waited years for mom jeans to come back into style (so hard to find things when they're considered passe). However, when you dress to impress yourself and no one else, you carry this lovely aura of "This is me, take it or leave it" rather than "This is who I wish I was". Nothing wrong with fake it til' you make it, but loving yourself no matter what you wear is a powerful feeling!
I disagree people who wear the western style are most certainly not letting the clothes wear them and they wouldn't be wearing a bikini if they weren't confident with themselves.
I personally like “American/western” style simply because I feel like it’s what flatters my body the most. Plus since it’s a swimsuit I want to be able to get sun/tan and just have fun without being totally covered up. Since it’s a swimsuit I want it to look like a swimsuit. Either way both styles are fine, just depends on peoples preferences.
@@nikz219 , and that's why I said I'd. I'd refers to me, an individual with my own opinions. You should either practice your reading and comprehension, or mind your business, because this just makes you seem silly.
The high V-shape on the bottoms are called French Cuts. They’re popular for making the legs look longer and accentuating the hip bones. In America we definitely have an overarching culture of “attractive” and “sexy” meaning the same thing, and we don’t focus much on “cute”. That is starting to change a bit though! I’ve noticed more and more young adults going for cute over sexy.
Part of the culture difference might also be the contrast in how sun exposure and tanning is perceived. Most american/western people would wear swimsuits that wont cause unflattering tan lines and something that will help make sure that tanned areas are evenly exposed. Usually people who cover up (in the Philippines, conservative people sometimes wear shirts etc to the pool/beach) might be doing both for modesty and also reduce the chances of darkening.
Now that you say it, that's true. In Malaysia we also cover up when we go to the beach/pool and choose evening or early morning to go because then it'll be 'too hot, we'll get sunburn" 😂😂
I actually prefer the korean swim suits overall. I'm also the type who likes to cover up so I think it fits my ideal. I also like that they kinda don't look like swim suits, but are still suitable for swimming. for me I see it as something that would make me comfortable and when I'm comfortable in something I'm confident . And I like that it's catered to both adults and kids. For the American styles I only prefer the top pieces. They are really cute!!

You wear the straps high on the hips to help highlight your figure. When the straps are lower it sometimes looks like it’s cutting your body into a weird proportion. Or just not a flattering proportion. The high straps give you the illusion of longer legs and a smaller waist.
True but when the straps are at just the right angle they can make your hips look round mean while when they're super high they can accentuate your hip bones/hip dips which aren't considered objectively attractive features so I wonder why that's a trend sometimes.
I've loved Korean fashion in general, since I was there in 2004. The designs are always cute, and comfortable. I bought a swimsuit yesterday and was complaining about the little options we have haha! I usually wear a bikini because it's so comfy but wanted a more modest option for when I don't feel like shaving/people staring. Here we only have either extremely sexy (especially now that 80s cut are everywhere - like the leopard one!) OR very high waist (which look ridiculous on my short torso and still doesn't cover all your area down there). As a lifeguard, I love all those Korean style, modest, sun-protective, anti-malfunction swimwear. I wish those kinds were easier to find in stores. Where I'm at, they ONLY sell skimpy, silver-dollar-sized bikinis, so all of my coworkers and I have to order stuff online where you can't try stuff on first. I also wish Korean styles were easier to find around here for the sake of the pool patrons. Heh...
the korean styles were so cute. i live in australia and in my experience, it's gotten difficult for me to buy swimwear as the result of a lack of diverse styles and from swimwear becoming more and more revealing. it's especially harder to buy bottoms cos most of them go way up your hips like this one at 6:23 (though not to that extent) or they simply don't cover enough which can be annoying and uncomfortable
wow the korean style swimsuits look soooo good, i think i'm gonna look for more swimsuits like that. i like it that they cover a bit more than the other swimsuits :))
The innocence, shock and the awe are so cute to me, Korea is a country away but their reactions make it seem like a planet lite years away. Stay innocent as to how the rest of the world lives....
LOL I just started the video and they asked “what kinda swimsuits do u guys wear” so I was expecting like, idk, them to say “one pieces” and she hit me w the “long sleeves” and I was like huh?? 😂😂 loving the cultural differences already lolll Ok I’m adding to my comment cuz it’s just so cute how sometimes they’re like 😳 but they’re still like oh she’s so pretty!
Western outfits and swimwear are meant to expose quite a lot of skin. So if you're the type who's conservative or body conscious, then it's definitely not your style. On the other hand, Korean fashion leans more on simplicity and subtle elegance.
I agree with you up until the "elegance" part. There ain't no weight nor relation between showing skin and elegance. Those are related in no way at all and saying otherwise, feeds the narrative that "if you show your body lots, you lack class/elegance" when in reality, such terms are actually used to mean: academical education, etiquette, protocol, manners and how you work yourself in social situations. It has nothing to do with clothes 💫
Some cultures show skin you know and to them it's elegant. It's swim wear. Also these people said they would like to try it outside Korea precisely because of people like you
I was with you until you said they were more elegant, showing more skin doesn’t mean western two pieces can’t also be “elegant”. Implying otherwise makes it sound like you think western swimsuits are trashy, and if that’s not what you meant then be careful with what you say.
But tbh, those ladies on are so beautiful and, like give you confidence just looking at them. And I can see why they started admiring them after showing the clothes they are on. And I love the midset and piece of mind the reactors gave. This is such a fun video! Thank you!
I just got home from buying a swimsuit! The timing is eerie. Great video. I do love the Korean style of swimsuit also. I wish I could find that one with the sleeves.
I think all 4 of them could wear western style suits for the most part and carry it off. The only real problem for them is what they think others might say about them.
The cheetah one looks like a brazilian style bikini, on the smaller side, the other ones people here in Brazil tend to think they are a little too big, but is also very common. I just don’t get why put so high up hahaha
Everything is depend on how much comfortable you are in that whether it is a cloth, behaviour people etc. If you are comfortable than go for it if you are not than don't force yourself. You will know this after trying it or may be you don't even need to try it's depend on you
I almost never ever go swimming because I don't feel comfortable in a bikini so I wish we had the Korean options! They're cute and seem easier to be confident in without feeling like any perv could be watching from somewhere.
Perverts aren't watching you. Its the women on the beach who are perverted. Every time I take my shirt off at the beach. Its like I have a sign on my chest and stomach. I've even had a woman come up to me and ask if I'm a swimmer. I was like "what?" Then she just kept saying that I had a "swimmers body" and she put her hand out and groped my chest. Women get away with being perverted. A guy looks for 2 seconds and it's a hate crime. Don't get me wrong. I do enjoy having both women and men look at me like I'm a shiny new toy. But sometimes, I'm not a fan of being touched and no, I'm not going to make a muscle
@@dan9809 You'd be surprised how many pervs do watch women at the beach. I can only imagine how shocked Koreans would be - especially the older ones - visiting Brazil on a holiday lol 😆
In my place if you use bikin youre the foreigner xD
The girls are soooo likeable their reactions to EVERYTHING are always so wholesome 💗
I'm glad to see they're enjoying it, it's nice to see other people learn and appreciate different culture
Heh...
the korean styles were so cute. i live in australia and in my experience, it's gotten difficult for me to buy swimwear as the result of a lack of diverse styles and from swimwear becoming more and more revealing. it's especially harder to buy bottoms cos most of them go way up your hips like this one at 6:23 (though not to that extent) or they simply don't cover enough which can be annoying and uncomfortable
best line ever "that looks like an eye patch" lol omg!! you owe one bottle of water i spit out on my computer when you said that!
There reactions are so genuine it makes me smile
wow the korean style swimsuits look soooo good, i think i'm gonna look for more swimsuits like that. i like it that they cover a bit more than the other swimsuits :))
the "I'm sick of cheetah" edit had sprite go up my noise 😭
The innocence, shock and the awe are so cute to me, Korea is a country away but their reactions make it seem like a planet lite years away. Stay innocent as to how the rest of the world lives....
LOL I just started the video and they asked “what kinda swimsuits do u guys wear” so I was expecting like, idk, them to say “one pieces” and she hit me w the “long sleeves” and I was like huh?? 😂😂 loving the cultural differences already lolll
Ok I’m adding to my comment cuz it’s just so cute how sometimes they’re like 😳 but they’re still like oh she’s so pretty!
The preference for long sleeves is usually because they're trying to reduce UV exposure. East Asians prefer not to get sun tans.
Also these people said they would like to try it outside Korea precisely because of people like you
I hope you grow up
I was with you until you said they were more elegant, showing more skin doesn’t mean western two pieces can’t also be “elegant”. Implying otherwise makes it sound like you think western swimsuits are trashy, and if that’s not what you meant then be careful with what you say.
Korean ones look like kids bathing suits.
The background music on the first half of the video on this video is so calm and relaxing. I love the sound.
Their reactions are so adorable 😂💕
The Korean style ones are the ones I've been looking for over here! I love those!
The only real problem for them is what they think others might say about them.
thats the typical asian mindset. They worry more of what others think than to do what makes them happy
Not everyone likes revealing outfits
@@SladkiyStream same here 💀 i would get uncomfortable 💀
If they are not comfortable then they won't wear it. Simple as that. They didn't say anything about what ppl will think if they wore it
The cheetah one looks like a brazilian style bikini, on the smaller side, the other ones people here in Brazil tend to think they are a little too big, but is also very common. I just don’t get why put so high up hahaha
Genuine reactions! Love it!!!
I've had guys blatantly confess that they spent the day at the beach specifically to watch womens bodies and there's so many stories of creeps trying to strike a conversation and refuse to go away. The touching without consent is awful so it sucks that it happens to you, it's wrong too.
Why are you acting as if less revealing swimwear isn’t available globally 💀
you can order some online
Not sure where you live but in the US, we definitely have options that aren’t revealing.
This is gonna be lit
Even though here like every where there are judgy people it's true. No matter what size or gender you mostly just wear whatever you want. For the most part no one will say anything. It's really just yourself who holds yourself back.
6:17 haha their reactions 😂
i want all the korean swimsuits omg they all look so pretty
They're so sweet! Even the swimsuits they wouldn't personally wear they still appreciated the beauty 😍
i definently understand feeling uncomfortable showing soo much skin and it can be scary to wear in public but id have to say i prefer western styled biknis, they are just way more flattering!!
i def love the korean swimsuits very cute unique and covers well. i love it!!
I really loved their input and that they didn't find the clothes revealing but very cute🥰
I actually prefer the korean style of swimsuit. It looks more comfy for a whole day. I need to find something similar to that here so I can finally start going to water parks without being uncomfortable.
These ladies are so lovely. I was just thinking how fun it would it wouls be to hang out with them. So much giggles.
Minji is sooooo cute 🙏 she always make me smile. She is just so natural, i love that 😁
Brazilian swimsuits/bikini are usually quite/very small, even for people from the west. For our country it's normal, but it's funny to see different reactions too
"i'm both" lmfaooo omg so universal so relatable i love that i've found this channel lol
love these ladies ❤️
Also as an Asian (growing up in US though) I relate them sm. I'm so uncomfy wearing revealing swimsuits I prefer the korean ones more, I even bought mine on Yesstyle haha, I love long sleeve or causal looking ones
The reactions are hilarious
I just had knee surgery… YOU sweet girls brought a big smile to my heart! Love u!🐱🐼🐱
The shock on their faces 😂
It's also awesome to see their reactions like the one saying won't it be tight downthere lol. Like them I used to be surprised how high the strap went. Funny enough ChinguAmiga did videos of E & W swim suits & her friends were also surprised 🤣🤣
I CANT THISS SO FUNNY 😂😂😂😭😭😭
I actually like the Korean style more. I like the cute dresses/skirts. I never like having my booty out like in the video 🙅♀️🙅♀️🙅♀️ the korean ones look much easier to swim in, the western ones are really to tan in lol can you imagine swimming in the last one??
If they're quality, it's NBD.
I love you guys, you're reactions are always so funny 😸😘
Their hand gesturing was so funny.
I like the ones they show at the start
Yo who did Minji piss off 😂 the laugh transition and the cheetah clip hahahahahaha
They’d all look gorgeous in the western swim suits
That one in the blue cloud shirt was ready to risk it all 😂
great video. it would be pretty cool if you guys put in asian americans/ asian westerners into the examples to show the diversity. than just them thinkin it’s always predominantly white girls being displayed as pretty all the time
She did show a black girl, too.
@@anonygent yes Ik that but 3/4 of the western videos were white girls. i was saying it would be nice to have asian american representation cause there were none.
seaweed snack had me dying lol
"That scarf is now there" Lmfao, that line was too hilarious.
I prefer Korean styles over Western . Much more flattering and conservative.
"The scarf is now there " 🤣🤣🤣 I died lool
I prefer western swimsuits cause there’s a big variety in my opinion.
I like more the western style bc i don’t want to swim in clothes💀
Me too but I'm low-key skinny fat so ....
I love their honesty! I want to be friends with them! I totally understand the insecurities, even when I was 125 lbs and wearing a size 3 I always had the mentality to wear a tshirt and shorts over my bathing suit! Loved watching this, I would've probably reacted the same way!
these girls together are so funny😭😭😭
"This one would really suit MJ"
MJ: "Dude I have this one at home!"
western swimsuits also are so tiny because we wanna get a good, even tan across the entire body
IM HERE
I really liked the high waisted two pieces out of the Korean styles!
It's fun watching the culture difference. I live in Florida where the women think nothing of wearing bathing suits in the supermarket market, after a while no one even pays attention.
Funny cus the way they view America is how I, as an American view a country like Spain, where they seem to be even more comfortable with their bodies.
In Western countries, it all depends on one's body confidence and personal style. You'll usually only find skinny people and those who wish to be models wearing bikinis like that. I'm American but am rather insecure about my body, so I think having those Korean swimsuit styles would be really nice.
Nah, that depends on country. Back where I'm from pretty much every young woman wears bikini, and even some older women do too.
@@tl8211 where I live in Europe half woman do topless, and I'm talking about women of all ages and sizes, you actually feel out place if you are wearing too much clothes at the beach and I feel older women do topless more easily
Yall should react to fashion nova bikinis
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤌🏽
They wear the strings that high to emphasize the shape of the waist
The first and second girls are the most common through the US. You only see the last ones around the warm vacation destinations like Miami or SoCal Coastal California or the fitness community with body building competitions and they are usually used to sunbathe rather than swim in.
I I can't imagine myself using korean swim suits hahaha this video was cute
The eye patch comment took me out 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Europe: "Why do swimsuits have tops?" 😅 Some European countries are even more unbothered/not shy about nudity at the beach than Americans.
Great video!!! Time for the ladies to shop again 😉. They are so modest about themselves, you guys would look 🔥🔥as any of the western women,in any swimsuit.❤️❤️ you guys, you make me smile with all your videos... Time again for a live stream...
